1.Improvement of Preparative Method of Boric Acid Ear Drops
China Pharmacy 2007;0(25):-
OBJECTIVE: To improve the preparative method of boric acid ear drops.METHODS: Boric acid ear drops were prepared using ultrasonic wave rather than waterbath heating to accelerate the solution of boric acid, and a comparison was conducted between the ultrasonic method and the waterbath heating method.RESULTS: The prepared boric acid ear drops were colorless supernatant liquid, which met the standard stated by the "Stipulations of clinical preparations in Zhejiang Province" in tests, identification and content.By ultrasonic method, the time spent for preparing boric acid ear drops was shorter(29?4.2) min than by waterbath heating method(18?1.4) min.CONCLUSION: The improved preparative method for boric acid ear drops is simple and feasible and the quality of the preparation is stable and controllable.
2.Enhancement of NADPH: quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO_1) gene expression and inhibition of cell proliferation induced by ?-tyrosol in human hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(08):-
AIM: To investigate whether ?-tyrosol could induce expression of DT-diaphorase (NQO 1) gene and inhibit proliferation of hepatoma cells and their relationship.METHODS: The DT-diaphorase activity, mRNA expression and cell proliferation were examined using direct measurement of DT-diaphorase from cells cultured in microtiter wells, semi-quantitative reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR) technique and crystal violet assay after treatment of SMMC-7721 cells with ?-tyrosol for 24 h. RESULTS: Treatment of SMMC-7721 cells with ?-tyrosol caused an increase in DT-diaphorase activity and DT-diaphorase mRNA expression in a dose-dependent manner. A statistically significant correlation between DT-diaphorase mRNA levels and enzyme activities was evident. In almost the same concentration range of 70 mg/L to 100 mg/L, ?-tyrosol resulted in a dose-dependent inhibition of cell proliferation which well inversely correlated with DT-diaphorase activity.CONCLUSION: ?-tyrosol can induce DT-diaphorase activity and enhance expression of its gene, which may contribute to antiproliferation of hepatoma cells caused by the same chemical.

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2013;29(6):518-524
Exposure to thermal environment is one of the main concerns for manned space exploration. By focusing on the works performed on thermoregulation at microgravity or simulated microgravity, we endeavored to review the investigation on space thermal environmental physiology. First of all, the application of medical requirements for the crew module design from normal thermal comfort to accidental thermal emergencies in a space craft will be addressed. Then, alterations in the autonomic and behavioral temperature regulation caused by the effect of weightlessness both in space flight and its simulation on the ground are also discussed. Furthermore, countermeasures like exercise training, simulated natural ventilation, encouraged drink, etc., in the protection of thermoregulation during space flight is presented. Finally, the challenge of space thermal environment physiology faced in the future is figured out.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
The present study reported that 5srRNA from reticulocytes of rabbit could pass into the nucleus of mouse myeloma cells SP2/0,and in the mean time DNA synthesis and cells division were markedly suppressed. In a separate experiment, the rRNA was extracted from embryonic liver and erythrocytes of rabbit or rat and analysed by agarose electrophoresis method. The result indicated that the amount of 5srRNA in various period of the development of erythrocyte is changed along with denucleation process. Thus it is likely that 5srRNA of mammalian erythrocyte plays a role in reversing malignant phenotype of tumor cells and promoting denucleation of mammalian erythrocyte through inhibiting DNA synthesis.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;17(4):819-828
This study was aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture treatment for diabetic peripheral neuropathy.MEDLINE, EMBASE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang database were searched. The study endpoints included clinical total efficacy, peripheral nerve conduction velocity and adverse reactions. The Review Manager software 5.2 was used in the bias and risk assessment as well as efficacy. GRADE profiler software was used to evaluate quality of evidences. The results showed that there were 18 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with 1158 patients included. The clinical total efficacy rate of acupuncture treatment was obviously better than the drug control group [RR: 1.38, 95%CI (1.25, 1.53),P < 0.000 01]. The sensory nerve conduction velocity was that for nervus medianus, the acupuncture treatment group was superior to the drug control group [MD = 2.55, 95%CI (1.23, 3.87),P = 0.000 1]; for nervus peroneus communis, the acupuncture treatment group was superior to the drug control group [MD = 3.42, 95%CI (2.56, 4.28),P < 0.000 01]. The motor nerve conduction velocity was that for nervus medianus, the acupuncture treatment group was superior to the drug control group [MD= 4.10, 95%CI (1.01, 7.19),P = 0.009); for the nervus peroneus, the acupuncture treatment group was superior tothe drug control group [MD = 3.09, 95%CI (1.99, 4.19),P < 0.000 01]. The adverse reactions and safety indicators were that no adverse reaction was reported in both studies with no abnormal safety indicator. The quality of evidence showed that the sensory nerve conduction velocity for nervus peroneus communis was moderate; the motor nerve conduction velocities for nervus medianus and nervus peroneus communis were low. While, the clinical efficacy rate and the quality of evidence for sensory nerve conduction velocity of nervus medianus were relatively low. It was concluded that the current clinical evidences were uncertain for the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in diabetic peripheral neuropathy treatment.

Objective To evaluate the prognostic significance of p53, p21/WAF1 and pRb in T 1G 3 transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the urinary bladder. Methods Paraffin embedded sections from 47 patients with T 1G 3 TCC of the bladder were studied by immunohistochemistry, using monoclonal antibodies of p53, p21/WAF1 and pRb. The immunostaining results were analyzed in relation to the tumor progression, and compared with the clinical parameters on prognostic significance. Results Of the 39 patients treated by TURBT or partial cystectomy, the total progression rate of the tumor has been 59%.Of the 8 patients treated by cystectomy, one had pulmonary metastasis 2 years after the operation. The abnormal expression rates of p53, p21/WAF1 and pRb were 66.7%, 51.4% and 71.8% respectively. Multivariate analysis indicated that only the combined abnormal expressions of p53, p21/WAF1 and pRb provided prognostic information in T 1G 3 TCC of the bladder. Conclusions Immunohistochemical evaluation of p53, p21/WAF1 and pRb nuclear expressions would help the prognostic evaluation cases of T 1G 3 TCC of the bladder.
