Objective To evaluate the effect of albendazole immunoliposome (IL-Alb) against Echinococcus granulosus. Methods Mice infected with protoscolices of E.granulosus were divided into five groups. Four groups were treated with albendazole (Alb), albendazole liposome (L-Alb), albendazole sulfoxide liposome (L-Albso), and IL-Alb respectively at a dosage of 100 mg (Alb)/(kg?d)?5 d for 3 courses. The fifth group was established as control. The major criteria for evaluating the effects included a reduction rate of E.granulosus tissue wet weight, histopathological examination of the cysts by both light microscopy and electron-microscopy, and the content of albendazole-sulfoxide in cysts detected by HPLC. Results The efficacy of albendazole immunoliposome was significantly higher than that of albendazole liposome, and much higher than that of albendazole. The reduction rates of cyst tissue weight of IL-Alb group, L-Alb group and Alb group were 91\^5%, 80\^3%, 61\^2% respectively as compared to control group; the concentration of Albso in cyst tissue of the above groups were 5\^15 ?g/g, 2\^18 ?g/g, 0\^76 ?g/g respectively (P

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(6):561-565
Premature ejaculation (PE) is a common male sexual disorder with an incidence rate of 20-30%. Recent clinical trials have demonstrated that phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5i), as the first-line drug for erectile dysfunction (ED), can improve ejaculatory function probably by acting on the peripheral and central adrenergic nerves. The possible action mechanisms of PDE5i may involve lessening of the central sympathetic output, modulation of the contractile responses from the vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate and urethra, induction of peripheral analgesia, and prolonging of the total erectile duration, increasing the confidence of ejaculation control, and reducing the post-ejaculation refractory time. This review discusses the possible mechanisms and clinical application of PDE5i in the treatment of PE.

Objective This trial was to observe the effect of Ulinastatin on coagulation functions in patients during operation period, and to investigate the protective mechanisms of Ulinastatin. Methods Forty patients were randomly divided into Ulinastatin group (Group U,n =20) and control group (Group C,n =20).Group U was infused intravenously ulinastatin 4000 U/kg (diluted with saline to 30 ml,20min losers) after anesthesia and before cutting skin, while Group C received the same volume of normal saline. All patients were phlebotomized 1 ml peripheral blood before administered (T0) and after 1 hour (T1),respectively.Coagulation activation time (SonACT),clot rate (CR) and platelet function (PF)were detected by sonoclot coagulation analyzer and platelet function analyzer. Results Compared with group C (controlled group),SonACT of Group U was prolonged significantly at T1 (P < 0.05),and PF were increased at T1 (P < 0.05) ; Compared with T0,SonACT and PF were increased at T1,respectively (P < 0.01).Conclusions Ulinastatin can improve perioperative coagulation function and platelet function. It may reduce intraoperative micro-thrombosis syndrome and postoperative deep vein thrombosis.
5.Periodontal expression pattern of osteopontin mRNA induced by orthodontic tooth movement in pregnant and non-pregnant rats.
West China Journal of Stomatology 2007;25(3):302-305
OBJECTIVEThrough orthodontic tooth movement in the pregnant and non-pregnant rats, to investigate the osteopontin (OPN) mRNA expression pattern in the periodontal tissues, and to probe its possible roles in orthodontic periodontal remodeling.
METHODSFixed appliances were used to mesially move the rats' maxillary first molars. In situ hybridization method was used to detect the expression changes of OPN mRNA in periodontal tissues.
RESULTSCompared to the non-pregnant rats, the expression of OPN mRNA in periodontal cells of the pregnant rats was more intensive. During the gestational period, the expression intensity had significant difference at different pregnant stages. The highest expressions occurred at the mid-pregnant stage, less at the late-stage and lest at the early-stage.
CONCLUSIONUnder the pregnant state, the expression of OPN mRNA in periodontal tissues may be up-regulated by increased serum progesterone level.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the application of shear wave elastography (SWE) combined with transition zone biopsy in the detection of prostate cancer (PCa).
METHODSA total of 489 patients with suspected PCa underwent transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) and SWE-guided prostatic biopsy. We evaluated the role of SWE combined with transition zone biopsy in promoting the detection rate in comparison with the results of biopsy pathology.
RESULTSThe pathological results confirmed 221 malignant and 268 benign cases. Based on systematic biopsy, SWE combined with transition zone biopsy achieved a detection rate of 45. 19% , significantly higher than that of systematic biopsy alone (33.13%) (P < 0.05). The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of SWE were significantly better than those of TRUS (P < 0.05). The mean elasticity (Emean) of SWE was remarkably higher for malignant than for benign lesions ([40.1 ± 9.5] vs [21.6 ± 8.3] kPa, P < 0.05). With 28.5 kPa as the threshold of the Emean value, the area under the ROC curve was 0. 899, and the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 88.71% and 86.23%, respectively.
CONCLUSIONSWE combined with transition zone biopsy could significantly improve the detection rate of prostate cancer.

Fosfomycin (FOM) is an antibiotic with a small relative molecular weight (138.1) and a long half-life, and has a unique chemical structure and antibacterial mechanisms. It exerts a bactericidal activity by inhibiting the early synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It is also a broad-spectrum antibiotic with a good drug tolerance and compliance and a low pressure to bacterial resistance, but no cross-resistance with other antibiotics. Recent studies show the effectiveness of FOM in the treatment of acute uncomplicated urinary tract infections and urogenital tract infections as well, such as prostatitis and epididymitis. This review focuses on the clinical application of FOM in the treatment of infectious diseases of the urogenital tract.

Objective To evaluate the clinical outcome of transesophageal echocardiography(TEE) in guiding and monitoring min-invasive transthoracic hybrid procedure for intracristal ventricular septal defects (VSD) using eccentric occluders. Methods 13 patients with intacristal VSD successfully underwent the min-invasive hybrid procedure using eccentric occluders were analyzed retrospectively. They were all carefully examined by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) preoperatively and were diagnosed as intracristal VSD.There were no obvious aortic valve prolapse and no severe regurgitation. The entire process was guided and monitored by TEE.The condition of VSD occlusion was assessed by immediate postoperative TEE.Results All cases were occluded successfully. The results of postoperative TEE showed that the occluder was coincided closely with the edge of VSD,no aortic valve regurgitation worsen.2 had tiny residual left-to-right shunt (<1.5 mm),which disappeared 1 and 3 months respectively after operation. No occluder dislocated followed-up at 6 months to 2 years postoperatively, and no major complications occurred. Conclusions The min-invasive hybrid procedure for intracristal VSD using eccentric occluders guided and monitored by TEE is easy to manipulate, which is safe, less invasive, and has excellent early-term results.
10.Studies on the cell growth, differentiation and terpene lactone accumulation in Ginkgo biloba cell suspension cultures.
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2004;20(3):445-449
To provide supports for Ginkgo biloba cell engineering for production of Terpene lactones (Ginkgolides and bilobalide), the cell suspension were established from calli induced from zygote embryos and stems of 30-day-old seedlings respectively. The relationship between cell growth, differentiation and the terpene lactone accumulation in these suspension cultures were investigated. HPLC determination indicated that, the ginkgolide B was found in the embryo derived cell suspension cultures at 0.044% of cell dry weight, and this result was the first time reported in this study. The accumulation of terpene lactone in the suspension cultures derived from both the embryo and seedling stems are effected by the level of the cell differentiation. The ginkgolide B was only found in small cell aggregates in the size smaller than 2mm, and the highest level of ginkgolide B was accumulated in cell aggregates in the size smaller than 1mm; however, the cell aggregates in the size bigger than 3mm could only produced bilobalide and ginkgolide A. In the same size aggregates of the suspension cultures the terpene lactone accumulation is strongly effected by the source of the explant. When the size of cell aggregates was in less than 1mm, the concentration of bilobalide, ginkgolide A and B in the cell suspension cultures derived from the embryos was 2, 1.4 and 0.56-fold, respectively, higher than that of cell cultures derived from seedling stems.
