Objective To observe the effects of low frequency electrostimulation(LFES)on sleep disorder of patients after acute cerebral infarction(ACI)as evaluated by using polysomnography, and on the recovery of neurological deficits. Methods Seventy cases of acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two groups,a treatment group and a control group. Both groups were treated with routine drugs, and the treatment group was also treated with LFES in addition. The changes of neurological deficits(ND) scores and such parameters of polysomnography as sleep latency(SL),total sleep time (TST),sleep efficiency(SE%),sleep maintenance(SMT),rapid eye movement sleep(REM),REM latency(RL),REM time(RT),REM activity(RA),REM density(RD).stage 1 sleep(S1),stage 2 sleep(S2)and deep sleep (S3+4) were observed. Results It was shown that, after treatment, both groups got significant improvement in terms of the ND scores and all the polysomnography parameters except RA,S1 and S2,(P<0.01),and the treatment group improved to a significantly greater extend when compared with the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion It is concluded that LFES could promote recovery of neural function and sleep disorder of ACI patients.

Objective To report the preliminary results of placing metallic stent and ~(125)Ⅰ seed strand combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with inferior vena cava (IVC) obstruction. Methods From March 2009 to June 2009, implantation of radioactive ~(125)Ⅰ seed strand and metallic stent combined with TACE treatment was performed in 8 cases of HCC with malignant IVC obstruction. All patients were males with a mean age of (60.6 ± 9.6) years, ~(125)Ⅰ seed strand and Z-type soft-expandable metallic stent were placed in the obstructive segment of IVC, which was followed by TACE. Before and after the treatment, the diameter of the obstructive segment of IVC, the pressure gradient between right atrium and distal end of obstructive segment of IVC, and the symptoms related to the obstruction were estimated and recorded, the results were compared individually. Clinical follow-up was conducted in all patients. Results A total of 8 stents and 10 ~(125)Ⅰ seed strands were placed in the obstructive segment of IVC. Altogether 138 ~(125)Ⅰ seeds were implanted in 8 patients. Obvious clinical improvements were obtained after therapy. No complications occurred in all patients except one patient who experienced acute renal dysfunction at the second day after therapy. During a mean of (2.1 ± 0.6) months follow-up, occlusion of IVC stent was detected in 1 patient. The remaining stents remained patent. Conclusion Our initial results indicate that placement of ~(125)Ⅰ seed strand and metallic stent combined with TACE is a safe and feasible therapeutic option for advanced HCC with malignant IVC obstruction.

Cerebral apoplexy is one of the main causes of death in the middle-aged and elderly population, which has higher mortality and disability rate. The incidence of the disease is increasing year by year and it is a serious threat to human life and health. Therefore,it is of great significance to find an effective target for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke.Thioredoxin (Trx) is the major thiol reducing agent in the cells,it is involved in many signal transduction pathways in the cells by regulating the redox state of the cell.It has disulphide reductase activity, which can reduce the oxidative stress injury in the rats after the stroke.Thioredoxin interacting protein (TXNIP) is an endogenous inhibitor of Trx,it can destroy the redox balance and promote the oxidative stress by binding/inhibiting the activity of Trx,while the inhibition or knockdown of TXNIP has obvious neuroprotective effects.Recent studies suggest that Trx/TXNIP may be involved in the pathophysiology of cerebral apoplexy by a variety of pathways. This article analyses the research status of Trx/TXNIP and studies the localization of Trx system in the central nervous system and the progress of Trx system in ischemic cerebral apoplexy. It reviews the mechanism of Trx/TXNIP in cerebral apoplexy and prospectes the signaling pathways involved in the pathophysiological process of Trx/TXNIP to provide new ideas for the treatment of cerebral apoplexy.

Objective To intelligently adjust the driving force of a remote-controlled drug delivery capsule based on the postural information in intestines,so as to achieve the control of speed and dosage of drug delivery and reduce the energy consuming. Methods A six-axis sensor MPU6050 was used, and its Z axis was coincident with the central axis of the drug delivery capsule so as to made the medicine discharge port pointing to the Z direction. The angular velocities and accelerations of X,Y,Z axes were monitored, transformed to quaternion with built-in digital motion processor, and then converted to Euler angle form. The intelligence adjustment of driving force could be achieved by accessing the real-time attitude angle of the capsule. Results The results of experiments showed that the error between the actual and the attitude angle measured by the sensor was less 1°.Conclusions The intelligent adjustment scheme of driving force of a gastrointestinal remote-controlled drug delivery capsule was designed. The real-time attitude angles of the capsule could be obtained with high spped and precision. This study can provide the theoretical and experimental basis for the intelligent adjustment of the driving force.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of infrared thermal therapy against pseudomonas ae-ruginosa infection on deep partial-thickness burn wound. Methods Forty-three patients in our hospital with main-ly deep partial-thickness burn wound from January 2015 to October 2016 were randomly enrolled to the treatment group(TG,treated with sulfadiazine silver + infrared thermal therapy)and the control group(CG,treated with sulfadiazine silver only). Scores of wound exudation, positive rate of pseudomonas aeruginosa on wound, wound healing rate, wound healing time and overall evaluation of wound healing on the day of 0,3,7,14,21,28 after treatment were conventionally recorded. Adverse effects in TG and CG were also observed. Results (1)Age,sex and burn surface area of patients were found no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). (2)On the day of 3,7 and 14,wound exudation score of TG was significantly lower than that of CG(P<0.05);On the day of0,21 and 28,wound exudation score of the two groups were almost same.(3)Positive rate of pseudomonas aeruginosa between the two groups on the day of 7,14 and 21,TG was significantly lower than CG(P < 0.05). (4)Wound healing rate of TG on the day of 7,14 and 21 was higher than CG,which was statistically significant difference in the 2 groups(P<0.05);Wound healing time of TG patients[(21.1 ± 6.5)day]was significantly shorter than that of CG patients[(26.2 ± 6.5)day](P<0.05).(5)Overall evaluation of wound healing of TG was better than that of CG on the day 14 and 21(P<0.05). Conclusions Infrared thermal therapy could reduce the secretion of deep partial-thickness burn wound and effectively control pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. Furthermore, infrared thermal therapy finally improved wound healing rate and shortenedwound healing time of burn wound.

Objective To retrospectively analyze the mid-term clinical results of direct intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (DIPS) in treating patients with portal hypertension. Methods DIPS were created in 23 patients with portal hypertension. Both preoperative and postoperative portal systemic pressure gradient (PPG), liver function and clinical symptoms were recorded and compared. Shunt patency was checked by color Doppler ultrasonography and the data were statistically analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Results DIPS creation was successfully accomplished in all 23 patients. No serious complications occurred after DIPS except for hemorrhagic ascites (n = 1) and mild hepatic encephalopathy (n = 3). Mean PPG significantly decreased from preoperative (32.6 ? 5.3) mmHg with a range of (23 - 43) mmHg to postoperative (10.1 ? 2.7) mmHg with a range of (5-14) mmHg (P
