Aim: To prepare a novel contraceptive patch containing gestodene(GEST) and ethinylestradiol(EE), and to study the in vitro characterization and in vivo contraceptive effect. Methods: Double-layer technique was applied to sustain steady 7-day permeation flux of drugs. Polariscope examination was carried out to observe the drug distribution behavior in the patch. Uniformity, adhesion, skin irritation, release and permeation tests were conducted to evaluate in vitro characterization. Anti-implantation and anti-fertility experiments were carried out to investigate its contraceptive effect. Results: The in vitro release profiles of both drugs were in accordance with Higuchi equation. The daily permeated amount of GEST per 10 cm2 patch was about 75 μg while the amount of EE was 30 μg.The in vitro transdermal permeation of both drugs from the patches displayed a zero-order process. Permeation rate constants were 0. 377 μg/(cm2·h) for GEST, and 0. 092 μg/(cm2· h) for EE, respec-tively. After transdermal administration, the embryonic number of the test groups was zero, and the uterus coefficients of those groups were significantly reduced compared with those of the control group (P < 0. 01). Conclusion: Double-layer transdermal drug delivery system(TDDS) could allow the steady 7-day permeation flux of drugs when the drug ratio between the immediate-release layer and the reservoir layer was 1:4. In vivo charac-terization demonstrated its contraceptive effects. The prepared novel patch might be a promising non-oral contra-ceptive preparation.

To investigate effects of collagen matrices by covalent incorporation of heparin and loading with huangqi injection (HI) on anagenetic capillaries, we established the chick chorioallantois model. The collagen matrices by covalent incorporation of heparin and loading with HI were placed and then the eggs were continuously incubated for 3 days. The number of capillaries in the vicinity of samples, the hemoglobin content inside the samples, the dry weight and the macroscopic observation were evaluated. We found the heparinized matrices had comparable angiogenic effects. The number of capillaries, the hemoglobin content, the expression of CD34 increased remarkably (P < 0.01). So we concluded that HI might be considered as an alternative or addition agent to promote the acidification of capillaries.

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy and clinical applicability of the Simple Five item Scoring Scale for Sarcopenia (SARC-F) by systematic review and Meta-analysis.Methods:PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Wed of science, EMBASE, MEDLINE, Ovid, China HowNet database, China biomedical data, VIP database and Wanfang database were searched by computer, and all the researches related to SARC-F questionnaire's diagnosis of sarcopenia from the establishment of the database to March 1, 2020 were collected. Two researchers independently selected literature, extracted data, and evaluated the bias risk of the study. Revman 5.3 software, Stata16.0software were used to comprehensively evaluate the diagnostic value of SARC-F questionnaire for sarcopenia. Results:A total of 13 studies involving 8 860 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that the sensitivity and specificity of the diagnostic criteria established by the European Working Group of Sarcopenia, the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia and the International Working Group for Sarcopenia were used as the gold standard. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.71, 0.69 and 0.67 respectively, and the Q-index was 0.659 3, 0.650 9 and 0.631 6.Conclusion:SARC-F questionnaire has a certain value in the screening and diagnosis of sarcopenia. In the future research, it is suggested to add the simple measurement of muscle quality on the basis of this scale to improve the accuracy of the questionnaire screening

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;19(6):984-988
"Belt and Road" is not only a concept of space and international economic cooperation strategy, but also a China oriented culture framework in the area of globalization. The implementation of "Belt and Road Initiative" strategy needs to put culture first, while traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture is an important starting point to boost the "Belt and Road" construction.TCM culture communication with countries along "Belt and Road" should take strategies of overall communication, local communication and differentiation communication. And it also needs to promote the construction of TCM communication platform,to enrich TCM culture connotation,to build TCM culture brand and develop cultural and creative industries in TCM.

In the "Belt and Road" strategy,Chinese medicine is one of the best carriers for the exchange and cooperation between Chinese civilization and other "Belt and Road" countries.Chinese medicine culture is the treasure of Chinese culture. It has important strategic significance and practical needs to construct Chinese medicine cultural think tank with Chinese characteristics and on behalf of the influence of Chinese culture under the background of "Belt and Road".In order to give effective service for "Belt and Road" strategy,Chinese medicine cultural think tank should clear its own construction content, highlight the characteristics of think tanks, and locate its function accurately.Combing the construction content, basic characteristic and main function of Chinese medicine cultural think tank systematically will lay the theoretical foundation for the future construction of Chinese medicine culture think tank.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) health preservation shows unique advantages in the international communication and overseas development. It is characterized by its cultural complexity and medical science, along with the policy support from the "Belt and Road Initiative" of TCM,as well as the increasing attention both at home and abroad. However, many problems and obstacles which cannot be ignored still hinder the enrichment and development of TCM health preservation in the world. This paper focused on analyzing these problems and obstacles, and indicated that the basic principle of international communication of TCM health preservation is to build a relatively steady long-term purpose and several segmented adjusting periodic orientations. At the same time, according to the characteristics of different regions along the line, changing the modes and contents of propagation is also needed.

As an important new Chinese medicine international culture promotion platform,Overseas Chinese Medicine Center (OCMC) should seize the opportunity of the "Belt and Road" Initiatives to be the main force and national team of transmitting Chinese medicine overseas.Through the research and practice of OCMC expanding Chinese medicine territory, the author adopted "Chinese medicine + " mind in four directions (i.e.,breaking a passage by characteristic traditional Chinese medicine treatment, developing characteristic Chinese medicine education, enhancing Chinese medicine talent localization, seeking high-level international cooperation of scientific research, and etc.) to impel OCMC spreading Chinese medicine culture to the world.

Objective To construct a recombinant plasmid vector containing the distal fragment of the distal C-terminus (dDCT) of the Cav 1.2 channel, and express, extract, and purify dDCT protein and characterize its biological activity. Methods dDCT cDNA was ligated into the pGEX-6p-1 vector to create a recombinant plasmid that was subsequently transformed into Escherichia coli BL21 competent cells.Expression of GST-dDCT fusion protein from this plasmid was induced with isopropy-β-D-thiogalactoside,and the resulting protein was purified using glutathione-sepharose 4B beads. The biological activity of dDCT was analyzed by GST pull-down assay. Results The recombinant plasmid was verified by restriction enzyme digestion and sequencing. The concentration and purity of the dDCT protein, which was extracted by ultrasonication, were high enough to detect dDCT activity. The binding of dDCT to CT1 was determined to be concentration-dependent.Conclusion The recombinant dDCT plasmid was successfully constructed, providing the fundamental basis for future studies on mechanisms of Cav 1.2 channel autoregulation.
