Objective To investigate the effects of salidroside on proliferation and invasive ability of glioma U87-MG cells; To discuss the its mechanism to induce apoptosis of U87-MG cells. Methods U87-MG cells were cultured in vitro for 24 h under different concentrations of salidroside and camptothecin. The proliferation of U87-MG cells was detected by MTT assay. The apoptosis rate of U87-MG cells was detected by flow cytometry. Transwell assay was used to detect the invasive ability of U87-MG cells. ROS was detected by indirect fluorescent labeling. The expressions of Caspase-3, Bcl-2, Bax, E-cadherin, N-cadherin and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in U87-MG cells were detected by Western blot. Results Compared with the blank control group, U87-MG cells had significant inhibitory effect on the growth of U87-MG cells in each administration group, and the invasive ability of U87-MG cells was significantly reduced after 10, 50, 100 μg/mL salidroside was intervened, and 10, 50, 100 μg/mL salidroside for 48 h for U87-MG cells could induce apoptosis of the cells; the level of ROS was positively correlated with the concentration of salidroside; 10, 50, 100 μg/mL salidroside up-regulated the expressions of Caspase-3, Bax and E-cadherin, and down-regulated the expressions of Bcl-2, N-cadherin and MMP-9. Conclusion Salidroside can induce apoptosis of U87-MG cells and inhibit the invasive ability of U87-MG cells.

Purpose To study the expression of HK2 in human prostate cancer (PCa) tissues and its effect on malignant phenotype of prostate cancer cells. Methods HK2 expression in PCa tissues was determined by microarray database and immunohistochemical staining.Subsequently, the change of cellular phenotype was detected by glycometabolism kit,CCK-8 kit,and flow cytometry after HK2 knockdown. Results HK2 expression was elevated followed by prostate cancer development.HK2 depletion inhibited cellular proliferation and aerobic glycolysis, and increased the ratio of early apoptosis. Conclusion HK2 expression increases in the process of PCa malignant progression. It plays a critical role in cellular proliferation, glycometabolism, and apoptosis, the mechanism of which needs further exploration.

BACKGROUND: Miniscrews have been widely used as "absolute anchorage" in orthodontic treatment, but high shedding rate has been a major flaw. Factors associated with the miniscrew stability mainly include its own factors, surrounding inflammation, implant method, angle, position and loading time of miniscrews. OBJECTIVE: To review the factors affecting the stability of miniscrews reported at home and abroad in recent years.METHODS: The first author searched CNKI and PubMed using computer for relevant articles published in recent 4 years, and the keywords were "miniscrews, stability, orthodontic anchorage" in Chinese and English, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 52 articles were included. The surface modification of miniscrews effectively enhances bone binding capacity, and promotes bone regeneration, thereby improving the stability of miniscrews. The morphology, implanted angle and mode, bone density and load timing of miniscrews are closely related to the stability of miniscrews. Meanwhile, we should avoid damage to the root, nerves, blood vessels and maxillary sinus, and focus on the maintenance of postoperative healing.

Objective To investigate the distribution of water fluoride and the status of water-improving defluoridation projects, thus to explore the condition of endemic fluorosis in Guangxi Province. Methods According to"The National Technical Scheme for Endemic Disease Contml in 2005",the fuorine content in water Was determined by F-ion selective electrode, children's dental fluorosis was checked by Dean method.and the skeletal fluorosis was checked by the standard of clinical scale of skeletal fluorosis. Results 305 water samples in 61 villages were examined, among which 71 waters were exceeded the standard, accounting for 23.28%(71/305).The projects of defluoriding drinking water were running well except one was discarded. The prevalence of dental fluorosis was 13.55%(356/2627),the prevalence of skeletal fluorosis was 4.02%(65/1615).Conclusions The situation of endemic fluorosis control is not optimistic in Guangxi, which needs fuaher prevention and controls.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the HPLC characteristic chromatogram of pheretima, and compare the differences of the main ingredient contents of Guangdong pheretima and Shanghai pheretima and the chromatogram differences among pheretima and 3 other animal drugs. METHODS:Pheretima HPLC characteristic chromatogram method was adopted to determine the characteris-tic chromatograms of 16 Guangdong pheretima,8 Shanghai pheretima,3 eupolyphaga,3 hirudo and 3 catharsius. Similarity evalua-tion and t test were used to analyze the differences of chromatogram data of 5 animal drugs. RESULTS:The established HPLC char-acteristic chromatogram method firstly identified 11 common characteristic peaks, including 6 nucleosides,4 nucleobase and 1 ami-no acid;and it could be used for the identification of pheretima from eupolyphaga, hirudo and catharsius;the differences of main ingredient contents in the characteristic chromatogram of Guangdong pheretima and Shanghai pheretima were firstly studied. The contents of xanthine and adenosine in Guangdong pheretima were higher than Shanghai pheretima, while the contents of uridine, guanosine and 2′-deoxy guanosine in Shanghai pheretima were higher than Guangdong pheretima. A new index S,calculated by these 5 constituents, was successfully applied to distinguish the 2 kinds of pheretima. CONCLUSIONS:The characteristic chro-matogram can be used for the identification of pheretima, and can provide reference for the pharmacodynamic differences study of Guangdong pheretima and Shanghai pheretima.

Objective To study the effects of granisetron hydrochloride on vasovagal syncope(VVS) in rabbits. Methods Twenty-four healthy New Zealand rabbits were divided stochastically into control group and intervention group,12 in each group. The control group was injected intravenously with normal saline. The intervention group was injected intravenously with granisetron hydrchloiride.Rabbit VVS models were established, each was taken at 4 points in time in the bloodletting process:T1,T2,T3,T4,to compare the bloodletting time, the concentration of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) in T2,T3,T4 and the total blood volume between the groups, and monitor the heart rate, blood pressure during the entire process. Results 1.The time of intervention group in T2,T3,T4 was longer than the time of control group obviously(P

Curcumin-ethyl-cellulose (EC) sustained-release composite particles were prepared by using supercritical CO2 anti-solvent technology. With drug loading and yield of inclusion complex as evaluation indexes, on the basis of single factor tests, orthogonal experimental design was used to optimize the preparation process of curcumin-EC sustained-release composite particles. The experiments such as drug loading, yield, particle size distribution, electron microscope analysis (SEM) , infrared spectrum (IR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and in vitro dissolution were used to analyze the optimal process combination. The orthogonal experimental optimization process conditions were set as follows: crystallization temperature 45 degrees C, crystallization pressure 10 MPa, curcumin concentration 8 g x L(-1), solvent flow rate 0.9 mL x min(-1), and CO2 velocity 4 L x min(-1). Under the optimal conditions, the average drug loading and yield of curcumin-EC sustained-release composite particles were 33.01% and 83.97%, and the average particle size of the particles was 20.632 μm. IR and DSC analysis showed that curcumin might complex with EC. The experiments of in vitro dissolution showed that curcumin-EC composite particles had good sustained-release effect. Curcumin-EC sustained-release composite particles can be prepared by supercritical CO2 anti-solvent technology.
