Objective The study of T2DM (n=69) and normal (n=12) subjects suggested that the measurement of plasma GMP-140 was useful in the early diagnosis and treatment of T2DM nephropathy.

Objective To study the gene expression on the inhibitory effect of endostatin on choroidal neovascularization in C57BL/6J mice and the mechanisms.Methods Photocoagulation using 532 nm diode laser was performed to establish a CNV model in mice’s eye.The mice were randomly divided into three groups:blank group (model group);endostatin group (experimental group),in which endostatin of 0.01 mg/2μL was given intravitreally;and saline group (control group),which received intravitreal injection of 2μL of 0.9 g/L saline.Four samples selected respectively from experimental group and control group were used to complete the gene expression profiling analysis.By comparing the differences of gene expression between the two groups,we selected the genes with expression difference ≥ 1.5 times and P ≤ 0.05. Results CD105 marking showed that choroidal neovascularization was significantly lower in endostatin group than in control group.The gene expression analysis showed that 1 1 6 genes were up-regulated and 1 0 6 genes were down-regulated in endostatin group compared with control group.GO analysis indicated that endostatin could inhibit cell activity and growth,but did not initiate the activity of the immune system,and even suppress it.Conclusion Endostatin can inhibit the activity and locomotion of endothelial cells and synergically inhibits the immune system,thus suppressing choroidal neovascular-ization.

Serum adiponectin concentration in diabetic nephropathy (DN) group was significantly higher than that of simple diabetes mellitus (SDM) group.In clinical diabetic nephropathy group with massive albuminuria it was remarkably higher than those of normal control,SDM,and early DN.Furthermore,serum adiponectin concentration was positively correlated with urinary albumin excretion rate and negatively correlated with waist hip ratio.Why it is markedly increased in patients with overt DN merits further investigation.

Surgical approaches for esophageal carcinoma are many and varied. Minimally invasive techniques are increasingly used widely in esophagectomy as they not only ensure patients' therapeutic effects, but also reduce trauma and accelerate recovery. The lymph nodes excisional area of esophageal carcinoma is still in controversy. It is necessary to carry out further researches on selective lymph nodes excision, which can decrease complication rate and improve patients' survival in the meantime.

Objective To evaluate the effects of percutaneous long sheath aspiration embolectomy for the treament of acute superior mesenteric artery embolism. Methods 7 cases (atrial fibrillation 4 cases; left atrium myxoma 2 cases and chronic mesenteric ischemia 1 cases) of acute measenteric artery embolism were treated with percutaneous emlolectomy using long sheath (Optimed, Germany) aspiration. Results Successful recanalizations were observed in all of the 7 cases of superior mesenteric arteries. 5 cases out of the 7 cases recovery; 1 case underwent laparotomy; 1 case died in 24 hours. Conclusions Percutaneous embolectomy using long sheath aspiration is a sample and effective method for the treatment of acute superior mesenteric artery embolism.

Objective to investigate the relationship between CRP,IL-12 and gestational diabetes mellitus.Methods Fifty normal pregnant women (NGT group) and forty with GDM (GDM group) were enrolled in the study.The serum IL-12、fasting blood sugar、CRP were mesured respectively.Results GDM fasting blood glucose,fasting insulin,insulin resistance index (IRI),CRP,IL-12 were higher than those in the control group [(4.95 ± 0.76 vs 4.57 ± 0.58) mmol/L,(13.65 ± 1.74 vs 8.78 ± 1.65) uIU/ml,(2.91 ± 1.05vs 1.72 ± 0.87),(5.56 ± 1.24 vs 3.25 ± 1.13) mg/L,(71.47 ± 4.35 vs 56.03 ± 4.06) PG,/ml,P ＜ 0.05),the results of single factor analysis of CRP showed a positive correlation with IRI (r =0.865,P ＜ 0.05),IL-12 was positively correlated with IRI (r =0.913,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Our study show inflammatory cytokins take part in the genesis of gestational diabetes.Serum levels of IL-12 and is one factor in pathogensis of GDM.

Objective To observe the acute side effects and recent therapeutical effect of cisplatinum/paclitaxe concurrent radiotherapy for patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods 87 patients with advanced nasopharygeal carcinoma were enrolled.According to the treatment,87 patients were divided into paclitaxe group (groupA,n =43) and cisplatinum group (group B,n =44).The two groups were treated with 6MV-X ray for radiotherapy.The prescription dose of radiation therapy was PGTV,PGTVnd 6 996 cGy/33F,PTV1 6 006 cGy/33F,PTV2 5 096 cGy/28F.The two groups began concurrent chemotherapy in radiotherapy,specific method:group A paclitaxe 30mg/m2,1 time a week,until the end of radiotherapy,group B cisplatinum 80 ～100 mg/m2,every 21 days.Results The recent therapeutical effect of nasopharyngeal lesions and lymph nodes of neck for group A and group B were 88.4％ and 86.4％ (x2 =0.079,P =0.778),88.4％ and 88.6％ (x2 =0.000,P =1.000),respectively.But the occurrence rate of group B ' oral mucosa reaction (x2 =4.295,P =0.038) and gastrointestinal reaction (x2 =4.482,P =0.028) were higher than that of group A.Conclusion Treated with cisplatin in advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radical radiotherapy combined with docetaxel is similar,and the side effect is low,the tolerance of patients is good,curative effect is satisfied.

Objective To study the role of monochromatic energy images from spectral CT in diagnosing X-ray negative biliary stones.Methods 32 patients who were diagnosed to have X-ray negative biliary stones were retrospectively studied.They were examined by spectral CT scanning and the spectral CT data were loaded into a spectrum analysis software.The optimal contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the monochromatic energy images were exposed and the contrast ratio between the X-ray negative stones and bile on the optimal monochromatic and hybrid energy CT images were compared,respectively.The monochromatic and hybrid energy CT images for diagnosing X-ray negative biliary stones were validated by two senior radiologists based on postoperative histology.Results The corresponding KeV of optimal CNR for X-ray negative stones were not quite consistent.They were 140KeV in 19 patients,40KeV in 8 patients,53KeV,57KeV,62KeV,64KeV and 73KeV in one patient each.The contrast between the negative stones and the adjacent bile were (6.4 ±5.6) HU on hybrid energy CT images and (50.4 ±24.4) HU on optimal monochromatic energy CT images.The Eff-Z of negative stones and bile were 6.6 ± 0.6 and 7.9 ± 0.2,respectively.In our study,the diagnostic accuracy of hybrid energy CT images was 34.38％ and that of optimal monochromatic energy CT images was 78.13％.Conclusion The optimal monochromatic energy CT images were more valuable in diagnosing X-ray negative bile duct stones,which were obviously better than the hybrid energy images from traditional CT.

The effects of ATP-sensitive mitochondrial K(+) channel (mitoK(ATP)) on mitochondrial membrane potential (Δψm), cell proliferation and protein kinase C alpha (PKCα) expression in airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs) were investigated. Thirty-six Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were immunized with saline (controls) or ovalbumin (OVA) with alum (asthma models). ASMCs were cultured from the lung of control and asthma rats. ASMCs were treated with diazoxide (the potent activator of mitoK(ATP)) or 5-hydroxydencanote (5-HD, the inhibitor of mitoK(ATP)). Rhodamine-123 (R-123) was used to detect Δψm. The expression of PKCα protein was examined by using Western blotting, while PKCα mRNA expression was detected by using real-time PCR. The proliferation of ASMCs was measured by MTT assay and cell cycle analysis. In diazoxide-treated normal ASMCs, the R-123 fluorescence intensity, protein and mRNA levels of PKCα, MTT A values and percentage of cells in S phase were markedly increased as compared with untreated controls. The ratio of G(0)/G(1) cells was decreased (P<0.05) in diazoxide-treated ASMCs from normal rats. However, there were no significant differences between the ASMCs from healthy rats treated with 5-HD and the normal control group. In untreated and diazoxide-treated ASMCs of asthmatic rats, the R-123 fluorescence intensity, protein and mRNA levels of PKCα, MTT A values and the percentage of cells in S phase were increased in comparison to the normal control group. Furthermore, in comparison to ASMCs from asthmatic rats, these values were considerably increased in asthmatic group treated with diazoxide (P<0.05). After exposure to 5-HD for 24 h, these values were decreased as compared with asthma control group (P<0.05). In ASMCs of asthma, the signal transduction pathway of PKCα may be involved in cell proliferation, which is induced by the opening of mitoK(ATP) and the depolarization of Δψm.
