BACKGROUND:Currently, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s can differentiate into nerve cel s via many approaches. Different methods for inducing bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s differentiating into nerve cel s have different ratios. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the difference between chemical method and co-culture method to induce the differentiation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s into nerve cel s. METHODS:Rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s were isolated and purified using whole bone marrow culture method, and then randomly divided into two groups:chemical group,β-mercaptoethanol was added;co-culture group, co-cultured in a Transwel chamber. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Visible protrusions from induced cel s showed radiation growth at 1 week of induced culture, and neuron-specific enolase staining was positive at 2 weeks of culture. Star-like structure of nerve cel s was visible in the co-culture group within 4-5 days of culture, and then more protrusions formed. Meanwhile, the positive rate of neuron-specific enolase was (70.82±2.46)%. After 6-7 days of culture, neuron-like cel s formed and were interconnected in the chemical group;while, the positive rate of neuron-specific enolase was (52.37±1.83)%. These findings suggest that cel microenvironment plays a leading role in the differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s into nerve cel s, and chemical induction method is inferior to the co-culture method.

Objective To study the antitumor activities of extract from Ligia exotica(Roux).Methods The dried powder of total Ligia exotica(Roux) was extracted by 37 ℃ water.The solution was concentrated in vacuum,and then was freeze-dried to afford crude extract.The inhibitory effect of the extract on tumor cells proliferation was assayed by MTT method,and transplant tumor model of sarcoma 180(S180) was used.Results The extract from Ligia exotica displayed obvious proliferation inhibitory effect on HeLa,7901,NCI cells,and no growth inhibitory effect on 929 cells in vitro.After administration at the doses of 0.25,0.50,1.00 g?kg-1,ip,for 7d in tumor-bearing mice with S180,The extract caused 26.9 %,45.3 %,64.6 % inhibition rates,respectively.Conclusion The extract from Ligia exotica showed significant antitumor activity.

Keratorefractive surgery changes the central corneal thickness (CCT) and corneal curvature, which could influence the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and non-contact tonometer (NCT) measurements of intraocular pressure (IOP), but not dynamic contour tonometer(DCT). During the procedure of LASIK, there is a transient rise of IOP, which increases the risks of optic nerve damage. Meanwhile, the presence of functioning filtering blebs may affect the choice and outcome of refractive surgery, or even becomes a contraindication of surgery. Steroids are typically used after keratorefractive surgery, which could lead to IOP elevation. Hence it is important to monitor IOP after LASIK and to be aware of inaccurate IOP readings due to corneal flap interface fluid. Treating patients with postoperative elevated IOP after keratorefractive surgery is similar to that for patients with glaucoma. This review will address the issues surrounding the safety, relevant complications and implications of keratorefractive surgeries on glaucoma and relevant diagnostic tests.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of heat-sensitive moxibustion in treating post-stroke urinary incontinence. Method Ninety patients with post-stroke urinary incontinence were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 45 cases in each group. The treatment group was intervened by heat-sensitive moxibustion at Qihai (CV 6), Guanyuan (CV 4), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6), while the control group was by moxa-box moxibustion. After 4-week treatment, the two groups were compared with each in the incontinence grading and Activities of Daily Living (ADL).Result After treatment, the incontinence grading and ADL scores were significantly changed in both groups (P<0.05). The incontinence grading and ADL scores of the treatment group were significantly different from that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05).Conclusion Heat-sensitive moxibustion can improve the post-stroke urinary incontinence and ADL.

AIM:To investigate the value of 3D-optical coherence tomography (OCT) in the diagnosis of macular disease before phacoemulsification.METHODS:Clinical records of 423 cataract patients (512 eyes) who underwent phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation in our hospital from June to December in 2015 were retrospectively analyzed.In addition to preoperative routine examination of fundus, Topcon 3D-OCT 2000 was used to examine the macula, the detection rate of macular disease was compared, risk factors of cataract combined with macular disease were analyzed.RESULTS:The OCT image results of 305 cases (384 eyes, 72.1%) were successfully obtained, 133 cases showed macular disease (146 eyes), the detection rate was 28.5% (95%CI:27.64%-29.40%);the macular disease of 35 cases (37 eyes) were detected by routine examination of fundus before operation, the detection rate was 7.2% (95%CI:6.72%-7.74%);the detection rate of 3D-OCT was significantly higher than routine examination of fundus for macular disease (χ2=79.05, P<0.01).Female, over 65 years old, surgical history of diseased eye, and high myopia were risk factors of cataract combined with macular disease, the relative risk was 1.705 (95%CI:1.091,2.664), 1.893 (95%CI:1.219,2.939), 6.593 (95%CI:2.027,21.447) and 95%CI:5.130 (2.841,9.263) respectively, the risk of cataract combined with macular disease showed an increasing trend with rising age.CONCLUSION:In preoperative examination of cataract patients, 3D-OCT has higher sensitivity in the detection of macular disease, especially for women, over 65 years old, high myopia and surgical history of diseased eye, 3D-OCT can be used as a routine preoperative examination.

Objective:To investigate the influences of Dixon anus preserving surgery on the curative effect, anorectal function and stress response of patients with low rectal cancer.Methods:A total of 150 patients with low rectal cancer admitted to Zhangjiakou Fifth Hospital from May 2016 to March 2019 were retrospective analysis as the study subjects. According to the different surgical methods, the patients were divided into the study group (75 cases) and the control group (75 cases). The patients in the study group received Dixon operation, and the patients in the control group received Miles operation. The general condition of operation, postoperative urination function, stress response [C reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), cortisol (Cor) and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)], anorectal function [anal resting pressure (ARP), maximal squeeze pressure (MSP), anal longest contraction time (ALCT)], quality of life (PAC-QOL score), postoperative complications, local recurrence rate, distant metastasis rate, 3-year tumor free survival rate and 3-year overall survival rate were compared between the two groups.Results:The operation time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage volume in the study group were lower than those in the control group: (172.28 ± 23.45) min vs. (189.57 ± 23.68) min, (177.39 ± 21.23) ml vs. (191.35 ± 22.67) ml, (342.36 ± 52.89) ml vs. (489.42 ± 63.33) ml, there were statistical differences ( P<0.05). The levels of CRP, IL-6, Cor and ACTH in the study group were lower than those in the control group: (22.35 ± 4.75) mg/L vs. (35.65 ± 5.28) mg/L, (58.74 ± 15.11) μg/L vs. (79.63 ± 20.23) μg/L, (145.36 ± 27.48) ng/L vs. (156.48 ± 32.55) ng/L, (44.58 ± 5.27) ng/L vs. (49.62 ± 5.68) ng/L, there were statistical differences ( P<0.05). The urination function and anorectal function of the patients in the study group were obviously better than those in the control group 6 months after operation, and the PAC-QOL score was obviously lower than that in the control group: (22.53 ± 2.86) scores vs. (27.54 ± 3.21) scores ( P<0.05); there was no obvious difference between the study group and the control group in the incidence of postoperative complications, local recurrence rate, distant metastasis rate, 3-year tumor free survival rate and 3-year total survival rate ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Dixon operation is effective in the treatment of low rectal cancer. It can preserve the anorectal function of patients to the greatest extent, protect urination function, reduce stress reaction of patients, and it is more conducive to rapid rehabilitation of patients.

Objective:To construct a set of scientific, oriented, and feasible teaching evaluation indices for undergraduate clinical medicine teaching that are suitable for the development and needs of clinical teaching.Methods:A preliminary index system was established based on literature search, semi-structured interview, and group discussion, and then a consultation questionnaire was compiled to conduct two rounds of consultation with 25 Chinese experts. SPSS 27.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:The questionnaire recovery rate was 100.0% for both rounds of consultation, indicating the highly active participation of experts. The authority coefficient of experts was >0.84, indicating a high degree of reliability. The coefficient of variation was 0-0.22 for each index, and the coordination coefficient of the second round was higher than that of the first round ( P<0.001), indicating a relatively high degree of coordination of expert opinions and relatively credible results of the consistency of expert opinions. Finally a set of quality assessment indices were developed for theoretical lectures, clinical teaching, and online theoretical courses for undergraduate medical students, including 6-7 primary indices and 12-14 secondary indices. Conclusions:Through the scientific and standardized application of the Delphi method, a set of comprehensive undergraduate teaching evaluation indices with clinical characteristics have been developed, which can adapt to the development of the new era, improve the quality of teaching, and promote the development of medical talents.

The c-Abl nonreceptor tyrosine kinase is activated in the cellular responses to genotoxic, oxidative and other forms of stress. Using tagged forms of c-Abl, the present studies demonstrate that c-Abl forms homodimers in cells. The results show that the c-Abl N-terminal regions interact with the corresponding C-terminal regions of both partners in the dimmer. Specifically, the c-Abl SH3 domain binds to a proline-rich motif at amino acids 958-982 in the c-Abl C-terminal region. Deletion of the proline-rich motif disrupts dimmer formation. These findings provide the first evidence that c-Abl forms homodimers and indicate that homodimerization can contribute to the regulation of c-Abl activity.
