1.Molecular diagnostic technology and personalized medicine: a golden opportunity for clinical laboratory

Nowadays,molecular diagnostic techniques are developing rapidly.Thus it is important for the managers of clinical laboratory to seize the opportunity and use professional advantage to reach the peak in the field of molecular diagnostics.The targets include understanding the progress of current molecular diagnostic techniques,grasping the needs of clinical requirement for individualized medicine,creating a system of molecular diagnostics platform,fostering the technicians and setting up standardized testing process and quality control system.Molecular diagnostics projects should be carried out to meet the requirements of clinicians for the target molecules and molecular diagnostic technology platform should be established as soon as possible.
2.Expression and clinical significance of clusterin in acute cerebral infarction

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of clusterin (CLU ) in acute cerebral infarction (ACI) .Methods A total of 154 inpatients with ACI within 48 h of the first onset in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang Uni‐versity from May to December 2013 served as the ACI group and divided into subgroups according to the neural function defection degree and whether having plaque .Contemporaneous 45 individuals undergoing the healthy physical examination were selected as the control group .The serum CLU and complement C3 levels were detected .The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH‐SS) and Barthel index scores were conducted ,the rehabilitation course and outcome until 90 d after onset were followed up ,and the comparative analysis on serum CLU level was performed .Results The serum CLU and complement C3 levels in the ACI group were significantly higher than those in the control group ,the differences were statistically significant (P<0 .01) ,moreover serum CLU was positively correlated with the complement C3 level in ACI patients(r=0 .430 ,P=0 .000) .The CLU level in the patients with plaque and severe neural function defection was higher than that in the patients without plaque and mild neural function defec‐tion ,the differences were statistically significant (P<0 .01 or P<0 .05) .Except serum CLU level had no statistical difference be‐tween the recovery group and significantly effective group (P>0 .05) ,the serum CLU level had statistically significant differences among other prognosis types of the patients groups (P<0 .01 or P<0 .05) .The lower the serum CLU level ,the rehabilitation the better .Conclusion CLU play a role by regulating the complement system after cerebral infarction occurrence ,serum CLU level is correlated with carotid arterial plaque ,neurological function defection degree and prognosis in ACI patients ,which can serve as one of biochemical indicators for evaluating the disease condition and guiding prognosis in ACI patients .
3.Effects of Physical Exercise on Depression of Female College Students——Multiple Mediation Effects of Three Dimensions in Social Support

Objective To explore the relation among physical exercise,depression among female college students and social support,and the multiple mediation effect of three dimensions of social support between physical exercise and depression.Methods A total of 300 female college students were selected and investigated using the physical activity rating scale-3 (PARS-3),self-rating depression scale (SDS) and social support rating scale(SSRS).The multiple mediation effects of the subjective support,objective support and support utilization were tested using the hierarchical regression and the bias-corrected non parametric percent Bootstrap method.Results The overall effect of multiple mediation was significant,accounting for 56% of the total effect,while the direct effect of physical exercise on depression was not significant.As for the multiple mediation effects,the mediation effect of subjective support and support utilization was significant,while that of the objective support was not.Their mediation effect accounted for 47.3%,36.6% and 16.1% of the indirect effect respectively.Conclusion Social support has a mediation effect between physical exercise and depression among female college students,and the subjective support and support utilization are the main mediation factors.
4.Protective effects of hydrogen-rich saline on systemic oxidative stress in rats with severe traumatic brain injury

Objective To investigate the protective effect of hydrogen-rich saline on systemic oxidative stress in rats with severe traumatic brain injury(STBI) .Methods Male Wistar rats(n=60) were divided into three groups randomly :sham group ,STBI+normal saline group ,STBI+ hydrogen-rich saline group .STBI model was induced by controlled cortical impact injury .Hydrogen-rich saline were intraperitoneally administered at 5 min after STBI operation .Plasma malondialdehyde (MDA ) ,Superoxide Dis-mutase(SOD) activity and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-PX) activity were measured before TBI operation ,12 ,24 h and 48 h after TBI operation .Results The level of MDA in STBI group plasma was significantly elevated from 24 h to 48 h after STBI operation (P< 0 .05) .Hydrogen-rich saline treatment significantly attenuated the increase of MDA level in STBI operation animals (P<0 .05) .The activities of SOD and GSH-PX were slightly elevated at 6 h after TBI operation ,but decreased significantly from 24 h to 48 h after STBI operation(P<0 .05) .Hydrogen-rich saline treatment significantly increased the activities of SOD and GSH-PX after STBI operation(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Hydrogen-rich saline could exert a protective effect against STBI via reducing oxidative stress .Molecular hydrogen might be a more effective therapeutic strategy for TBI patients .
5.Treatment of Hand-foot Itch in Old People with Acupuncture

Old patients with hand-foot itch were treated by acupuncture combined with the irradiation of TDP. For hand itch, selected acupoints Jianyu (LI 15), Quchi (LI 11), Shousanli (LI 10), Hegu (LI 4), and Zhongzhu (TE 3); for foot itch, selected acupoints Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Jiexi (ST 41),Rangu (KI 2), Taichong (LR 3) and Zulinqi (GB 4). OF 33 patients, the symptom were cured in 26 cases and improved in 7 cases after 2-course's treatment.
6.Application of computer-controlled anaesthesia with autiovisual distraction of video-eyewear system in pediatric endodontic treatment

Eligible 112 children aged 4-12 years old were recruited and assigned to 2 groups with block random design.For the first treatment session,the subjects in group 1 received computer-controlled anaesthesia(CCA) with autiovisual distraction of video-eyewear system(ADVS) intervention based on the routine therapy,those group 2 received only CCA and routine therapy.For the second session,a crossover of intervention methods were conducted for the 2 groups.Before and after each session,pain intensity and dental anxiety of each group were evaluated.Results showed that the group receiving CCA-ADVS presented significantly lower pain intensity and dental anxiety than the group receiving CCA only(P<0.05).Evident differences were detected in the assessment outcomes in each treatment session (P<0.0001).The combination of CCA and ADVS can effectively reduce pain perception and dental anxiety of children in pediatric endodontic treatment.
7.Effect of rehabilitation of club-based activities on quality of postoperative life of patients with breast cancer

Objective To study the effect of rehabilitation of club-based activities on the quality of postoperative life of patient with breast cancer. Methods A total of 60 patients with breast cancer were randomly divided into experiment group and control group. Conventional nursing was given to the patients in the control group after discharge, and at the same time the patients in the experiment group participated in the activities organized by the rehabilitation club for 6 months. The life quality was assessed by quality of life questionnaire-core30 (QOL-C30). Result The scores of the experiment group were significantly better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The activities by the rehabilitation club for the patients with breast cancer can improve the patients, quality of life.
8.Disinfection efficacy of SZ herbal disinfectant on bacterium and virus in suspension

Objective To determine the main components of SZ herbal disinfectant and to observe its inactivation efficiency on microorganism in suspension. Methods The spectrophotometer examination, neutralizer screening trial, bacteria count trial, phage plaque count trial and cells infection test had been used to determine contents of ursolic acid in SZ herbal disinfectant and the disinfection efficacy. Results The ursolic acid contents in original SZ disinfectant reached 436.43 ?g/ml and decreased by 8.07% after a year of deposit. Treated by disinfectant for 5 min and 1∶5 dilution solution for 10 min, the Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and Escherichia coli (EC) in suspension could be killed with the efficiency of 100%. Treated with SZ disinfectant and the dilution solution (1∶50) respectively, the Candida albicans could be killed with the efficiency of 90.97% and 51.10%. Treated with the dilution solution for 3 min, the f2 bacteriophage and PV could be reduced by 100% and 9.00 log. Conclusion With the main component of ursolic acid, the SZ herbal disinfectant is a kind of natural disinfectant. It has a satisfactory inactivation efficacy on bacterial vegetative form and virus.
9.Efficacy of topical glucocorticoids combined with a moisturizer containing antimicrobial peptides in the treatment of eczema:a clinical observation

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of topical glucocorticoids combined with a moisturizer containing antimicrobial peptides in the treatment of persistent localized eczema. Methods A total of 60 patients with localized eczema were divided into 2 groups. Group 1 topically applied Fuqing gel (an antimicrobial dressing) and hydrocortisone butyrate cream twice a day for 2 weeks, and group 2 topically applied the vehicle of Fuqing gel and hydrocortisone butyrate cream twice a day for 2 weeks. Recovered patients were followed up once every 4 weeks for 12 weeks. Bacterial culture was performed for 5 patients with suspected local Staphylococcus. aureus infection, including 3 patients in group 1 and 2 in group 2, before and after the 2?week treatment. Therapeutic effects were evaluated and compared between the two groups. Results Compared with group 2, group 1 showed a signifi?cantly higher response rate after 1?week treatment(χ2 = 5.455, P < 0.05), but significantly lower eczema area and severity index(EASI)scores after 1? and 2?week treatment(both P < 0.05). Before the treatment, S. aureus was detected in all the 5 patients. After 2?week treatment, S. aureus was undetected in all the 3 patients in group 1, but was still detected in the other 2 patients in group 2. The treatment was rated as ineffective in none of 7 recovered patients in group 1 during the 12?week follow up, but in 2 of 5 recovered patients in group 2 at week 10. Conclusion Fuqing gel combined with glucocorticoid ointment is safe and effective for the treatment of localized eczema, and can be applied in clinic.
10.Efficacy of topical hydrocortisone butyrate cream combined with a skin cream dressing in the treatment of atopic dermatitis: a randomized, open, controlled clinical study

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of topical hydrocortisone butyrate cream combined with a skin cream dressing in the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (AD) .Methods:From July 2019 to June 2020, a randomized, open, controlled clinical study was conducted in Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University. Sixty patients with mild to moderate AD were enrolled into this study, and randomly divided into 2 groups by using a random number table. The patients in test group topically applied a skin cream dressing (trade name FORENéE) followed by hydrocortisone butyrate cream, and those in control group topically applied the vehicle of the cream dressing followed by hydrocortisone butyrate cream. The treatment was carried out twice a day for 4 weeks. Visits were scheduled at baseline and after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, efficacy was evaluated, and adverse reactions were recorded. Repeated measures analysis of variance and chi-square test were used to compare efficacy and safety between the 2 groups.Results:Before treatment, there was no significant difference in eczema area and severity index (EASI) , visual analogue scale (VAS) or investigator global assessment (IGA) scores between the 2 groups (all P < 0.05) . After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, the response rate was significantly higher in the test group (86.67%[26/30], 93.33%[28/30], respectively) than in the control group (60.00%[18/30], 73.33%[22/30]; χ2=5.455, 4.320, respectively, both P < 0.05) . After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, the remission rate of pruritus ( χ2=4.320, 4.022, respectively, both P < 0.05) and treatment success (IGA 0/1) rate ( χ2=6.667, 15.429, respectively, both P < 0.05) were significantly higher in the test group than in the control group. There was no drug-related adverse reactions in the 2 groups. Conclusion:Hydrocortisone butyrate cream combined with FORENéE skin cream dressing is safe and effective in the treatment of mild to moderate AD, and can be applied to clinical practice.
