ObjectiveTo assess the values of 320-detector row dynamic volume CT angiography (CTA) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) in follow up of coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) caused by Kawasaki disease (KD).Methods320-de-tector row CTA and TTE were applied in long-term follow-up of 8 patients with CAA caused by KD.ResultsIn 8 patients, the mean age at onset was 41.63±22.70 months and the mean follow up time was 43.50±10.99 months. In acute phase, 3 cases of giant coronary artery aneurysms (GCAA) and 5 cases of mid-small CAA were diagnosed by TTE. A total of 16/32 arteries (50%) were involved. At the end of follow-up, 3 cases of GCAA and 2 cases of mid-small CAA were still diagnosed by TTE, and small CAAs were regressed in another 3 cases. A total of 6/32 arteries (18.75%) were involved. Simultaneously at the end of follow-up, a total of 7/32 arteries (21.9%) were involved by 320-detector row CTA. The distribution was consistent with that of TTE. Mean-while, there were one case of left circumlfex artery, one case of GCAA at distal of the right coronary artery, 2 cases of thrombus, 1 case of coronary stenosis and 2 cases of calciifcation.ConclusionsCAA caused by KD may be persistent for a long time. The thrombus, stenosis, and calciifcation of coronary can occurr at late phase in GCAA. TTE is sensitive and reliable to detect proxi-mal and middle segment of coronary lesions, but has limitations in detection of distal segment of coronary arteries. 320-detector row CTA has more comprehensively view of each coronary artery lesions and is especially sensitive and reliable to detect coro-nary thrombosis, calciifcation and narrowing in proximal and distal coronary arteries after acute phase.

BACKGROUND:A new open“C”-shaped molar band with nanocoating (patent number:ZL201110057699.1) has been invented to overcome some weakness of traditional bands and buccal tubes, which is used for molar fixation. OBJECTIVE:Using three-dimension finite element analysis software to theoretical y prove that the new band comes up to clinic requirement. METHODS:We established a finite element model of alveolar bone-tooth-band, and node domains tensile and shear loading were given. Stress distribution of the new bands through numerical simulation was predicted and calculated. Simulation of 20 N orthodontic force was applied in medial direction, distal direction and vertical direction in the three-dimensional model of a new band buccal tube and traditional band, to analyze the stress state in different directions under the force of the binder. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:By numerical simulation of three-dimensional finite element, the stress of the new band was higher than that of the traditional band, but it could not reach the clinical cracking limit of resin reinforced glass ionomer cement. So the new band could theoretical y satisfy the clinical requirements.

A questionnaire was used to survey the perspective of the 22 mentors,24 students, 27 graduate students and 27 public health units on the competence of MPH student. The result showed that the practice skill, analyzing skill, program plan and practice skill, and emergency reaction abil-ity got more attention. This suggested that to the training of MPH,the training objective should focus on the ability to resolve problems; the curriculum should focus on the characters of public health and on the practice training.

Objective To explore the effect of glucocorticoid receptor(GR)expression in rat hippocampus on cognitive function after traumatic brain injury(TBI). Methods The TBI model wag established in rats. Then, immunohistochemistry and Western blot were used to detect the GR expression and evaluate its relation with cognitire dysfunction by Morris water maze. Results Expression of hippocampal GR was down-regulated 4-10 days after TBI.Morris water maze test showed significant impairment of the cognitive function in rats. Conclusion There is correlation between expression change of hippocampal GR and cognitive dysfunction.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of calcyclin binding protein (CacyBP)in the brain of rat model of traumatic brain injury(TBI).Methods Sixty 60 male SD rats were divided randomly into normal control group (n=10) and TBI group (n=50).The TBI model was created by using lateral head rotation device and subdivided into 6 h,24 h,72 h,7 d and 14 d group (10 rats per group). The expression and distribution of CacyBP in the rat brain was investigated immunohistochemically. The presence of the brown stained particles was considered aspositiveand lack of the stained particles agnegative. Results CacyBP was mainly distributed in the hippocampus, dentate gyrus and cortical neuron cytoplasm.Compared with the high level expression of CacyBP in the normal control group, the expression of CacyBP was decreased to the lowest in the rat brain at 6 h post TBI (P<0.01),became stronger gradually at 24 hours and recovered to normal at day 14,with no statistical difference compared with normal control group (P>0.05). Conclusion The lowest level expression of CacyBP after TBI indicates that CacyBP may play an important role in development of brain injury under effect of difierent mechanisms.

Objective To explore the developmental characteristics of different functional levels of autism and the diffe-rence in children. Methods A total of 159 autistic children aged 13-71 months including 85 high-functioning autistic (HFA) chil-dren and 74 low-functioning autistic (LFA) children were evaluated for their developmental characteristics by the development scales from the psycho-educational profile-revised (PEP-R). Results Within the same age group, both HFA and LFA children had obvious unbalance in individual ability development (H=41.68~113.51, P<0.01). Impaired cognitive performance is most common in HFA children. The development of cognitive performance was inconsistent with cognitive expression while the gross motor development was normal. The ability development in LFA children were all impaired, especially in imitation, cogni-tive performance and cognitive expression. With increasing age, the scores of imitation, perception, cognitive performance, cog-nitive expression and overall development quotient were increased gradually in HFA children (P<0.05) while the scores of cogni-tive performance and overall development quotient were decreased in LFA children. Conclusions Autistic children tend to have abnormal developmental progress and order, and individual ability development varies by functional level in autistic children with increasing age.
