This paper reports a woman diagnosed with citrullinemia type I (CTLNⅠ) in puerperium who was unfortunately died later. The 28-year-old patient (G1P1) delivered a live girl at 39 +2 gestational weeks and was transferred from a local hospital to Henan Provincial People's Hospital on January 11, 2020, due to "a 3-day paroxysmal confusion accompanied by dizziness 4 days after delivery". Intermittent confusion, elevated blood ammonia, and citrulline concentration, and encephaledema were presented 10 h after delivery, and the patient eventually died of cerebral hernia on the day of self-discharge. Two pathogenic mutations of the ASS1 gene were found by genetic testing, including c.422t>G (p.val141gl; HET) and c.431c>G (p.pro144arg; HET) and confirmed the diagnosis of CTLNⅠ. CTLNⅠ is a life-threatening disease that could be easily overlooked and misdiagnosed and was difficult to treat. It most often occurs in newborns and infants, whilst it is rare during pregnancy and postpartum. The possibility of this disease should be considered in patients with neurological system symptoms and elevated blood ammonia during pregnancy or puerperium.

Quantitative calibration strategy as an essential issue in laser ablation ICP-MS plays an important role for the guarantee of analytical accuracy. In this study, uncertainties of reference values in current available glass certified reference materials (NIST, MPI-DING and USGS) as well as the matrix effect among them were systematically evaluated. The results illustrated that NIST610 was better than other reference materials from aspect of reference value uncertainty. The matrix effect among NIST, MPI-DING and USGS reference materials was insignificant under our experimental conditions.A quantification strategy based on two reference materials (NIST610 and StHs6/80-G) and normalization to 100% (w/w) was proposed to avoid the insufficiency of single reference material strategy, which suffered the very low content and large uncertainty for some elements. The comparision of ML3B-G results obtained from three quantification strategies (single reference material NIST610, single reference material StHs6/80-G and two refterence materials) illustrated that the proposed strategy improved the analytical accuracy.Three reference materials (BCR-2G, CGSG-2 and KL-2G) were quantified with the proposed strategy, and almost all data matched well with reference value, meanwhile the data reported here could supplement the reference value database.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2015;31(5):674-677
Cystic neoplasms of the pancreas are rare lesions, usually without typical clinical manifestations. This article summarizes the clin-icopathological features and surgical treatment of common cystic neoplasms of the pancreas, including serous cystic neoplasm (SCN),mu-cinous cystic neoplasm (MCN),intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN),and solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN).The clini-copathological features are independent prognostic factors for patients.More attention should be paid to correct diagnosis and appropriate sur-gical strategy for each cystic neoplasm of the pancreas.

To investigate the perioperative oxygenation of the patient undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting procedure (CABG). Method: The relationship between oxygen transport (TO_2) and oxygen consumption (VO_2), and serum lactate level were examined in 55 patients undergoing CABF, anesthetized with midazolam, vecuronium and a moderate dose of fentanyl. Result: Good correlations between TO_2 and VO_2 at the weaning from CPB (r=0.7817, P

Objective To evaluate the effects of different doses of compound Xuelian capsule on bone cancer pain (BCP) in rats. Methods Fifty pathogen-free adult female Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 200-220 g,aged 7-8 weeks, were randomly divided into 5 groups (n =10 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (group S),group BCP,and compound Xuelian capsule 50,100 and 200 mg · kg-1 · d-1 groups (group CX50,group CX100 and group CX200).BCP was produced by injecting Walker256 mammary gland carcinoma cells into the intramedullary space of the right femur bone.At 11-21 days after inoculation of the tumor ceils, normal saline containing compound Xuelian capsule 50,100 and 200 mg · kg 1 · d 1 was injected through a tube into stomach once a day in CX50,CX100 and CX200 groups, respectively. The mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) and limb use score were measured at 1 day before inoculation of the tumor cells (baseline) and 4,7,11,14,17,19,and 21 days after inoculation of the tumor cells. Results Compared with group S,the MWT at 4-21 days after inoculation of the tumor cells was significantly decreased, and limb use score was significantly decreased at 11-21 days after inoculation of the tumor cells in BCP,CX50,CX100 and CX200 groups (P<0.05).Compared with group BCP,the MWT was significantly increased at 19-21 days after inoculation in group CX50,at 17-21 days after inoculation in group CX100 and at 14-21 days after inoculation in group CX200,and limb use score was significantly increased at 14-21 days after inoculation in group CX100 and at 17-21 days after inoculation in group CX200 (P<0.05).Conclusion Compound Xuelian capsule 50,100 and 200 mg· kg 1 · d 1 (for 11 consecutive days) can reduce BCP in a dose-dependent manner in rats.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of gemcitabine combined with nedaplatin concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy in treatment of advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods Seventy-six advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients were divided into observation group(38 cases)and control group(38 cases)by radom digits table. The patients in observation group were treated with gemcitabine combined with nedaplatin concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The patients in control group were treated with fluorouracil combined with cisplatin concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The clinical effect and adverse reaction were compared between two groups. Results The total effective rate in observation group was 84.2%(32/38),which significantly higher than that in control group[60.5%(23/38)](P<0.05).There was no significant difference in 1 year overall survival rate between two groups[89.5% (34/38)vs.76.3%(29/38)](P > 0.05).The rate of gastrointestinal reactions and oral ulcers in observation group were 42.1%(16/38)and 7.9%(3/38),which significantly lower than those in control group[73.7% (28/38),31.6%(12/38)](P < 0.05).The rate of bone marrow suppression between two groups had no significant difference[31.6%(12/38)vs.23.7%(9/38)](P > 0.05).Conclusion Gemcitabine combined with nedaplatin concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy in treatment of advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma can enhance the clinical effect, and decrease the adverse reaction, which can be applied in clinic.

It is still controversial whether total splenectomy on adult animals would affect their immune function. In this study, total splenectomy and different kinds of splenic preservation operations including splenorrhaphy, partial splenectomy and spleen autotransplantation were performed on adult rats after the porta of the spleen of the rats was artificially ruptured and the splenic artery ligated. In the 4th month after the operations, the hemolysin antibody and the de-layed-type hypersensitivity reaction were determined in the rats. It was found that no significant difference occurred in the hemolysin antibody and the delayed type hypersensitivity reaction among the rats of the control group, the group with total splenectomy, and the groups with different kinds of splenic preservation operations.
