Cell division cycle 42 (CDC42)is a member of Rho guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase) family, which plays an important role in cell proliferation , cell migration and cell transformation .The activity of CDC42 can be regulated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs),GTPase activating proteins (GAPs) and guanine nucleotide-dissociation inhib-itors (GDIs).Recently,CDC42 has been reported as abnormally expressed in many human cancers ,suggesting that CDC42 performs complex functions in tumorigenesis .Therefore, this paper aims to shed light on the functions of CDC 42 in cancers in terms of the alteration of CDC42 activity,CDC42 regulators,as well as its effectors.

Chinese Journal of Neurology 2000;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the pathological features and clinical characteristics of primary mitochondrial myopathy and encephalomyopathy. Methods 11 cases of mitochondrial myopathy and encephalomyopathy were analyzed on clinical features, histochemical changes and ultrastructure observations of muscles. Results RRFs were found in all 11 cases by muscle staining of MGT under light microscope. 7 cases were only afflicated with muscle weakness, 4 cases also having impairment of central nervous system. The proportion of RRFs was 6.4% to 10.3%. We observed these cases under electronic microscope. In 9 cases, the ultrastructural alterations included subsarcolemmal accumulation of mitochondria, increases of the number, abnormal shape, disarrangement of cristae and paracrystaline inclusion bodies. In 2 cases the increase of mitochondrial number is only the alteration. Conclusions Typical RRF is valuable for diagnoses of mitochondrial myopathy and encephalomyopathy under light microscope. The accumulation of abnormal mitochondrials beneath sarcolemal, especially the paracrystaline inclusion bodies are significant in making a definite diagnosis of this disease under electronic microscope.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT in the localization of ectopic adrenocorticotrophic hormone ( ACTH)-secreting tumors. Methods Seven patients with ectopic ACTH syndrome (confirmed by clinical symptom, biochemical data or bilateral simultaneous inferior petrosal sinus sampling) were included, 4 males and 3 females with age ranged 27-63 years old.All patients were examined with head MR, chest and abdomen CT, abdomen ultrasonography, and whole body 18F-FDG PET/CT. Location, size, and the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of the tumor were measured. Results 18 F-FDG PET/CT detected three ectopic ACTH-secreting tumors with the sizes 1. 1 cm×1.0 cm (SUVmax =9.4), 1.5 cm×1.1cm (SUVmax =6.4), and 1.6 cm ×1.5 cm (SUVmax =12.0). The pathological findings of the three tumors were thymoma, lung carcinoid, and mediastinal carcinoid respectively. Conclusion 18 F-FDG PET/CT may help the localization of ecto pic ACTH-secreting tumors .

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the efficiency of three methods to detect HPV infection of desquamated cervical epithelial cells and the relationship between methods and TCT.Methods hC2 method was used in disconnecting the HPV DNA chain in the samples to hybrid captures, and examine the 13 types of HPV which were highly related to cervical carcinoma.Q-PCR was first used to extract HPV DNA of samples and expanded nucleotide to be examined on Q-PCR to obtain results directly.MPHC was used to extract HPV DNA and to amplify nucleotide. The products was added to micro-well plate to proceed hybridization, and enzyme label was added, and results were studied in the enzyme labelling apparatus. The results of the latter two methods were the same as hC2.hC2 matched Q-PCR was used to examine 260 eases of desquamated cells from HPV infection against 200 cases of desquamated cells from HPV infection, and the results were compared by using MPHC matching examination. Results 1.With three methods,HPV infection was found to be 100% in all the abnormal cervical squamous epithelial cells.2.The sensitivity of the methods, howerer, was different. The QFCR and MPHC had higher positive rate than hC2.Positive HPV infection rate with Q-PCR and MPHC was the same as that of hC2 in the majority of cases,as in a few cases,it was positive with Q-PCR and MPHC but negative with hC2 alone False positive rate was 2% in MPHC.Conclusion HPV testing combined with the TCT routine is the best screening program for detecting cervical cancer and precursor of cervical careinoma.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2011;34(1):50-54
Objectives To evaluate the diagnostic value of real-time quantitative fluorescence polymerase chain reaction( Q-RT-PCR ) assay and immunofluorescence assay for diagnosis of hMPV. Methods Totally 1 283 children with acute respiratory infection admitted in Jiaxing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital for treatment from November 2008 to May 2009 were recruited in this study. The hMPV positive stains were separated and sequenced in this area. The sequences between the local hMPV stains and Holland stains NLD00-1 were compared. The specific primers and fluorescent probe were designed according to the sequence of epidemic hMPV strain. The Taqman methodology was applied in Q-RT-PCR. Negative pressure suction was used to acquire nasopharyngeal secretions specimens. Both Q-RT-PCR and immunofluorescence with FITC labeled monoclonal antibody were used to analyze them, respectively. The McNemar, test was applied to analyze the correlation between the two methods. Results Totally 1 283 specimens were analyzed with Q-RT-PCR and immunofiuorescence simultaneously. Q-RT-PCR analysis showed there were 59 cases positive. Immunofluorescence analysis showed there were 55 cases positive. Fifty-two cases were positive in both assays. There were 7 cases positive in Q-RT-PCR assay but negative in immunofluorescence assay and 3 cases negative in Q-RT-PCR assay but positive in immunofluorescence assay. If Q-RT-PCR method was set as the golden standard, the sensitivity and specificity for immunofluorescence detection method were 88. 1%and 99. 8%, respectively. Positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 94. 5% and 99. 4%,respectively. There was no significant difference ( χ2= 0. 9, P > 0. 05 ) by McNemar' test between the two methods. Conclusion The diagnostic value of immunofluorescence assay is close to Q-RT-PCR assay.
