Objective: To analyze the change trends in the body shape indicators and proportions of students in Harbin from 2010 to 2024, and to investigate ergonomic compatibility of functional dimensions of school desks and chairs with current student shape indicators, so as to provide a reference for revising furniture standards of desks and chairs. Methods: Between September and November of both 2010 and 2024, a combination of convenience sampling and stratified cluster random sampling was conducted across three districts in Harbin, yielding samples of 6 590 and 6 252 students, respectively. Anthropometric shape indicators cluding height, sitting height, crus length, and thigh length-and their proportional changes were compared over the 15-year period. The 2024 data were compared with current standard functional dimensions of school furniture. The statistical analysis incorporated t-test and Mann-Whitney U- test. Results: From 2010 to 2024, average height increased by 1.8 cm for boys and 1.5 cm for girls; sitting height increased by 1.5 cm for both genders; crus length increased by 0.3 cm for boys and 0.4 cm for girls; and thigh length increased by 0.5 cm for both genders. The ratios of sitting height to height, and sitting height to leg length increased by less than 0.1 . The difference between desk chair height and 1/3 sitting height ranged from 0.4-0.8 cm. Among students matched with size 0 desks and chairs, 22.0% had a desk to chair height difference less than 0, indicating that the desk to chair height difference might be insufficient for taller students. The differences between seat height and fibular height ranged from -1.4 to 1.1 cm; and the differences between seat depth and buttock popliteal length ranged from -9.8 to 3.4 cm. Among obese students, the differences between seat width and 1/2 hip circumference ranged from -20.5 to -8.7 cm, while it ranged from -12.2 to -3.8 cm among non obese students. Conclusion Current furniture standards basically satisfy hygienic requirements; however, in the case of exceptionally tall and obese students, ergonomic accommodations such as adaptive seating allocation or personalized adjustments are recommended to meet hygienic requirements.

OBJECTIVES: To study the effect of prophylactic phenytoin (PHT) or levetiracetam (LEV) on busulfan (BU) blood concentration in children undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. METHODS: Pediatric patients conditioned with BU plus cyclophosphamide and fludarabine at the First People's Hospital of Chenzhou from September 2023 to February 2025 were retrospectively included. Patients were grouped by prophylactic antiepileptic regimen into PHT (n=24) and LEV (n=26). BU blood concentrations at the end of infusion (0 hour) and at 1, 2, and 4 hours post-infusion were compared between groups. RESULTS: At 0 hour post-infusion, BU blood concentrations did not differ significantly between groups (P>0.05). At 1, 2, and 4 hours post-infusion, BU blood concentrations were higher in the LEV group than in the PHT group (P<0.05). The area under the concentration-time curve from 0 to ∞ (AUC_0-∞) was greater in the LEV group (P<0.001), and the attainment rate of AUC_0-∞ was higher in the LEV group than in the PHT group (73% vs 21%, P<0.001). No significant differences were observed between groups in time to hematopoietic engraftment or in the incidence of BU-related adverse drug reactions (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS Compared with PHT, LEV prophylaxis is associated with higher BU blood concentration and a higher AUC_0-∞ attainment rate. There is no observed difference in BU efficacy or safety between PHT and LEV.

Hemorrhagic shock is a common clinical emergency that can aggravate cell injury after resuscitation. Astrocytes are crucial for the survival of neurons because they regulate the surrounding ionic microenvironment of neurons. Although hemorrhagic shock and resuscitation (HSR) injury can impair cognition, it remains unclear how this insult directly affects astrocytes. In this study, we established an HSR model by bleeding and re-transfusion in mice. The social interaction test and new object recognition test were applied to evaluate post-operative cognitive changes, and the results suggest that mice experience cognitive impairment following exposure to HSR. In the HSR group, the power spectral density of β and γ oscillations decreased, and the coupling of the θ oscillation phase and γ oscillation amplitude was abnormal, which indicated abnormal neuronal oscillation and cognitive impairment after HSR exposure. In brief, cognitive impairment in mice is strongly correlated with Ca²⁺ signal strength in lateral septum astrocytes following HSR.

This study aimed to comprehensively examine the association of gallstones, cholecystectomy, and cancer risk. Multivariable logistic regressions were performed to estimate the observational associations of gallstones and cholecystectomy with cancer risk, using data from a nationwide cohort involving 239 799 participants. General and gender-specific two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was further conducted to assess the causalities of the observed associations. Observationally, a history of gallstones without cholecystectomy was associated with a high risk of stomach cancer (adjusted odds ratio (aOR)=2.54, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.50-4.28), liver and bile duct cancer (aOR=2.46, 95% CI 1.17-5.16), kidney cancer (aOR=2.04, 95% CI 1.05-3.94), and bladder cancer (aOR=2.23, 95% CI 1.01-5.13) in the general population, as well as cervical cancer (aOR=1.69, 95% CI 1.12-2.56) in women. Moreover, cholecystectomy was associated with high odds of stomach cancer (aOR=2.41, 95% CI 1.29-4.49), colorectal cancer (aOR=1.83, 95% CI 1.18-2.85), and cancer of liver and bile duct (aOR=2.58, 95% CI 1.11-6.02). MR analysis only supported the causal effect of gallstones on stomach, liver and bile duct, kidney, and bladder cancer. This study added evidence to the causal effect of gallstones on stomach, liver and bile duct, kidney, and bladder cancer, highlighting the importance of cancer screening in individuals with gallstones.

Objective To investigate the effect of hemoperfusion combined with sequential hemodiafiltration on pancreatic islet β cell function,nutritional status and inflammatory response in patients with diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods One hundred patients with DN admitted to Nanyang Central Hospital from February 2022 to February 2023 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,with 50 patients in each group.The patients in the control group were treated with sequential hemodiafil-tration,and the patients in the observation group were treated with sequential hemodiafiltration combined with hemoperfusion.The weight and height of patients in the two groups were measured before treatment and after 6-month treatment to calculate body mass index(BMI).The triceps skinfold(TSF)thickness was measured by using a skinfold caliper.The nutritional status of patients were evaluated by subjective global assessment(SCA)scores.Fasting venous blood was collected from patients in the two groups to measure the levels of fasting insulin(FINS)and fasting plasma glucose(FPG)by radioimmunoassay,and the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)and homeostasis model assessment of beta-cell function(HOMA-β)were calculated;the levels of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were measured by using the fully automatic biochemical analyzer,and the levels of serum C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)were measured by using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results There was no significant difference in HOMA-β,FINS and HOMA-IR of patients between the control group and the observation group before treatment(P＞0.05).FINS and HOMA-IR of patients after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment,while HOMA-β was significantly higher than that before treatment in the two groups(P＜0.05).After treatment,FINS and HOMA-IR of patients in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group,while HOMA-β was significantly higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in BMI,TSF and SGA of patients between the control group and the observation group before treatment(P＞0.05).After treatment,BMI,TSF and SGA of patients in both groups were significantly higher than those before treatment;and BMI,TSF and SGA of patients in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the levels of TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C of patients between the control group and the observation group before treatment(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of TC,TG and LDL-C of patients in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment,while the HDL-C level of patients was significantly higher than that before treatment(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of TC,TG and LDL-C of patients in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group,while the HDL-C level of patients was significantly higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the levels of serum CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 of patients between the control group and the observation group before treatment(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 of patients in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment;and the levels of serum CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 of patients in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Sequential hemodiafiltration combined with hemoperfusion can significantly improve pancreatic islet βcell function,nutritional status and lipid metabolism in patients with DN and inhibit inflammatory response.

Objective To evaluate the in vitro effect of combinations of 5 β-lactam antibiotics with different β-lac-tamase inhibitors on the activity of multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MDR-TB),and identify the most effective combination of β-lactam antibiotics and β-lactamase inhibitors against MDR-TB.Methods MDR-TB strains collected in Henan Province Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Project in 2021 were selected.The mini-mum inhibitory concentrations(MIC)of 5 β-lactam antibiotics or combinations with different β-lactamase inhibitors on clinically isolated MDR-TB strains were measured by MIC detection method,and the blaC mutation of the strains was analyzed by polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and DNA sequencing.Results A total of 105 strains of MDR-TB were included in the analysis.MIC detection results showed that doripenem had the highest antibacterial activity against MDR-TB,with a MIC50 of 16 μg/mL.MIC values of most β-lactam antibiotics decreased significantly after combined with β-lactamase inhibitors.A total of 13.33％(n=14)strains had mutations in blaC gene,mainly 3 nu-cleotide substitution mutations,namely AGT333AGG,AAC638ACC and ATC786ATT.BlaC proteins Ser111 Arg and Asn213Thr enhanced the synergistic effect of clavulanic acid/sulbactam and meropenem on MDR-TB compared with synonymous single-nucleotide mutation.Conclusion The combination of doripenem and sulbactam has the strongest antibacterial activity against MDR-TB.Substitution mutations of BlaC protein Ser111 Arg and Asn213Thr enhances the sensitivity of MDR-TB to meropenem through the synergy with clavulanic acid/sulbactam.

Objective To explore the incidence of long CO VID symptoms in patients infected with Omicron variant of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Methods According to the inclusion and exclu-sion criteria of literatures,relevant studies without language restrictions published up to 2024 were retrieved from both Chinese and English databases.The Chinese databases were China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Database,and VIP databases,and the foreign databases were PubMed,Embase,and Web of Science.Three-step screening was used to select literatures,and Stata 17.0 software was used for analysis.Results The incidence of at least one sequelae in patients infected with Omicron variant was 29.62％.The most common symptoms included fatigue(19.10％),joint or muscle pain(11.06％),memory loss(9.71％),brain fog(8.80％),cough(8.42％),headache(7.26％),and sore throat(6.68％).Subgroup analysis results showed that with the extension of follow-up(3 months vs 6 months),the incidence of smell or taste changes was significantly re-duced(7.22％vs 0.78％).The higher the proportion of women(＜50％vs 50％-65％vs＞65％),the higher the incidence of joint or muscle pain(1.09％vs 4.62％vs 19.53％);the greater the median age(≥45 years vs＜45 years),the higher the incidence of chest pain or chest distress(0.90％vs 3.86％),all with statistically significant differences(all P＜0.05).Conclusion Incidence of long COVID in Omicron-infected patients is high and can cause various symptoms.Follow-up time,median age and gender proportion have significant impacts on the incidence of some symptoms.

The epidemiological and spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of human leptospirosis in Zhejiang Province from 2018 to 2022 were analyzed,to provide a scientific basis for formulating leptospirosis prevention and control strategies.Data on leptospirosis were collected from the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention,and analyzed with descriptive epidemiological methods.ArcMap 10.8 software was used for spatial autocorrelation analysis and visual display of the results.SaTScan 10.1.2 software was used for spatiotemporal scanning,to analyze and describe the spatiotemporal aggrega-tion characteristics of leptospirosis.A total of 255 human cases of leptospirosis were reported in Zhejiang Province from 2018 to 2022,including one death;the average annual incidence was 0.084 3/100 000,and the average annual mortality was 0.000 3/100 000.The highest incidence of leptospirosis in Zhejiang occurred from August to October.Most cases were in middle-aged and older people 45-86 years of age(221 cases,86.67％).The number of cases was highest among people 65-69 years of age(57 cases).The male to female ratio was 4.67∶1.The main occupation was farming(190 cases,74.51％).The cumulative number of cases in Wenzhou and Lishui in 3 years(201 cases)accounted for 78.82％of the total cases.The global spatial auto-correlation analysis from 2018 to 2022 showed that the incidence of leptospirosis in the province presented a positive spatial au-tocorrelation.Local spatial autocorrelation analysis indicated that the"high-high"gathering areas were concentrated primarily in Wenzhou,Lishui,and Taizhou in the mountainous and hilly areas of southern Zhejiang Province.Spatiotemporal scanning anal-ysis revealed three clusters with high incidence in southern Zhejiang Province.The incidence of leptospirosis in Zhejiang Prov-ince showed clear regional clustering and seasonality,and the high incidence area was mainly in the mountainous and hilly areas of southern Zhejiang Province.The cases occurred mainly in middle-aged and older male farmers.Health education among rural resi-dents should be strengthened to prevent potential epidemic risks.

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of overexpressing 70-kD heat shock pro-teins(Hsp70)on glycolysis in C2C12 cells during myogenesis and adipogenesis.Using C2C12 cells as the research material,adenovirus was used to overexpress the Hsp70 gene,and changes in the expression of glycolytic genes were detected using fluorescence quantitative PCR and Western blotting techniques.The study indicated that during C2C12 cell myogenic differentiation,the expression trend of the Hsp70 gene was consistent with that of Gsk3β,Pkm,Prkag3,Pfkm,and Hk-2 genes,suggesting a relationship between Hsp70 and the glycolytic pathway during myogenic differentiation.Overexpression of Hsp70 in the later stages of myogenic differentiation significantly upregulated the expression of Gsk3β,Pkm,Prk-ag3,and Pfkm genes(P＜0.05),with no significant impact on Hk-2 gene expression(P＞0.05).Dur-ing C2C12 cell adipogenic induction,the expression trend of the Hsp70 gene was similar to that of Gsk3β,Pkm,Prkag3,Pfkm,and Hk-2 genes,indicating a relationship between Hsp70 and the glycolytic path-way during adipogenic induction.Following Hsp70 overexpression,in the later stages of adipogenic in-duction,the number of lipid droplets was significantly higher compared to the control group,with a sig-nificant upregulation of Gsk3β,Pkm,Prkag3,and Pfkm gene expression(P＜0.05),while Hk-2 gene expression was not significantly affected(P＞0.05).In conclusion,Hsp70 in C2C12 cells in myogenic and adipogenic states promoted the breakdown of glycogen into 6-phospho-glucose,thereby enhancing the glycolytic pathway,providing insights into the functional role of the Hsp70 gene in glycolysis in C2C12 cells.
