Diffuse sclerosing variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, one of the variants of papillary thyroid carcinoma, nearly account for 0.7% to 6.6% of papillary thyroid carcinoma. It is an aggressive tumor that shows higher rates of recurrence, metastasis and persistent disease compares to classic papillary thyroid carcinoma, thus diffuse sclerosing variant papillary thyroid carcinoma needs stricter and more exhaustive operation.Since the incidence of diffuse sclerosing variant papillary thyroid carcinoma is low, many physicians lack of understanding of the disease,it's often missed diagnosis or misdiagnosed.Consequently.In order to let physicians understand more about diffuse sclerosing variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, this paper will elaborate the epidemiology, clinic and pathology features of it.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(05):-
Objective To prospectively assess the nutritional status in the patients with alimentary tract malignancy, and to elucidate the factors related to malnutrition. Methods The nutritional status of 328 patients with newly diagnosed alimentary tract malignancy was assessed using subjective global assessment(SGA)and serum levels of prealbumin and albumin. And the factors influencing the nutritional status of the patients with alimentary tract malignancy in different locations were analyzed. Results The prevalence of malnutrition was 64.43% in all,75.81% in colon cancer,63.24% in esophageal cancer,62.40% in gastric cancer and 60.27% in rectal cancer. The changes of nutritional status mainly manifested weight loss with the incidence of 67.39%,serum prealbumin level under 200 g/L with the incidence of 24.1% and serum albumin level less than 35 g/L with the incidence of 31.70%.And there was significant difference in weight loss and serum levels of prealbumin and albumin among the patients with different nutritional status(P=0.000).The factors that influence the nutritional status of the patients with alimentary tract malignancy include the location and TNM staging of tumors, and the age, appetite and digestive symptoms of the patients. Conclusion The patients with alimentary tract malignancy are susceptible to malnutrition due to the multiple factors such as the tumor location and metabolic impacts of tumor on host.Nutritional screening, assessment and early intervention should be emphasized in the inpatients with alimentary tract malignancy.

RV lateral wall thickness was smaller in the young-aged group than that in the middle-aged and old-aged groups [(5.10±0.60) mm vs (5.60±0.60) mm, (5.40±0.70) mm, t=-3.12 and-2.22, P=0.02 and 0.028];DTI e wave was greater in the young-aged group than that in the middle-aged and old-aged groups [(14.90±3.70) cm/s vs (10.90±3.10) cm/s, (11.10±2.60) cm/s, t=5.82 and 5.49, P=0.000 and 0.000]. A series of novel 4-substituted-3-nitrobenzamide derivatives were designed and synthesized. The structures of the target compounds were confirmed with 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS and element analysis. Anti-tumor activities against HCT-116, MDA-MB435 and HL-60 cell lines in vitro were evaluated by SRB assay. The results indicated most of the target compounds exhibited potent anti-tumor activity. Compound 4a showed the most potent inhibitory activities against three cancer cell lines with the GI50 values of 1.904-2.111 micromol x L(-1). Compounds 4g, 41-4n exhibited more potent inhibitory activities against MDA-MB435 and HL-60 cell lines with the GI50 values of 1.008-3.586 micromol x L(-1) and 1.993-3.778 micromol x L(-1), respectively. The structure-activity relationship of these compounds is discussed preliminarily.

Objective To evaluate the inhibitory effects of sustained-release 5-fluorouracil(5-FU)micmparticles on the growth of HepG2 eels. Methods The inhibitory effects of sustained-releage 5-FU micropartides,5-FU microparticles and poly L-lactic acid on HepG2 cells were detected by MTT assay. The HepG2 cell apoptosis was demonstrated by flow cytomerry after Hoehest staining. Results The survival rate of HepG2 cells in sustained-release 5-FU microparticles group decreased as time passed by.The survival rate of HepG2 cells in 5-FU microparticles group wag the lowest on the first day,and then it increased gradually. The survival rates of HepG2 ceHs in 5-FU microparticles group on day 21 and 28 were hJigher than those in sustained-release 5-FU microparticles group. The survival rate of HepG2 cells in poly L-lactic acid group WSB higher than that in the other two groups. The difference upon survival rate among the 3 groups had statistical significance(F=3163.52,128.47.P<0.01).Conclusions The sustained-release 5-FU micropartieles could keep on inhibiting tlle growth and inducing apoptosis of HepG2 cells in time-dependant manner. The inhibitory effect of sustained-release 5-FU is better than that of 5-FU microparticles.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(39):7613-7618
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Free running EMG and stimulus triggered EMG, including time, frequency, amplitude, muscle group were observed and recorded simultaneously. Never root functional injury and restoration after surgery were detected.RESULTS: 378 pedicle screws in 74 patients were monitored intraoperatively, and only 3 pedicle screw malposition (2 of L_4, 1 of L_5) was detected and then replaced with the help of C-arm fluoroscopic examination. Myoelectricity appeared when the current intensity was less than 10 mA. The correct rate of implantation was 99.2%. Nerve root impingement was found in two cases during laminectomy for L_5 and S_1 decompression and never root solution, which alerted the surgical team of critical neural structures. Nerve symptoms of the lower limb were aggravated after surgery and restored following 2-4 weeks of conventional treatment. The error injury rate of nerve root was 2.7%. In all reported cases, no irreversible neurological deficit was observed 2-4 weeks after operation.CONCLUSION: Intraoperative EMG monitoring can find improperly placed screws and detect impending nerve root injury promptly. Combined EMG and 3-D imaging modality monitoring is a reliable and practicable method that can be used to protect neural structures during complex lumbosacral surgery.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2015;50(3):298-304
Connexin43 has been shown to play a pivotal role in wound healing process. Wound repair is enhanced by acute downregulation of connexin43, by increasing proliferation and migration of keratinocyte and fibroblast. Angiogenesis is also a central feature of wound repair, but little is known about the effects of connexin43 modulation on functions of endothelial cells. We used connexin43 specific small interference RNA (siRNA) to reduce the expression of connexin43 in human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC), and investigated the effects of connexin43 downregulation on intercellular communication, viability, proliferation, migration and angiogenic activity of HUVEC. Treatment of siRNA markedly reduced the expression of connexin43 by -80% in HUVEC (P < 0.05), and decreased the intercellular communication by -65% (P < 0.05). The viability, proliferation, migration and angiogenic activity of HUVEC decreased significantly (P < 0.05), compared with that of the normal cells. The results suggest that temporally downregulation of connexin43 expression at early stage of wound to inhibit the abnormal angiogenesis characterized with leaky and inflamed blood vessels, maybe a prerequisite for coordinated normal healing process.
