Aim To investigate the function of fenofi-brate on PAN ( puromycin aminonucleoside )-induced podocyte injury. Methods SD female rats of 18-week-old were randomly assigned into 3 groups ( n =6 ) . Mice in PAN group and fenofibrate treated group received a single intravenous injection of PAN ( 65 mg ·kg-1 ) , while those in control group received equal volume of saline. Mice in fenofibrate treated group re-ceived 40 mg · kg-1 · d-1 of fenofibrate ( intragastric administration ) on day 1 after PAN injection , while those in PAN group and control group received equal volume of vehicle. 24 hours urine samples from all group were collected on day 0(1 day before PAN injec-tion), day 6, day 10. The 24 hours urine protein was detected by Bradford assay. All the rats were sacrificed 10 days after the induction of podocyte injury, and glo-merulus sample were collected. The expression of podocyte injury marker and transcription level in apop-tosis, podocyte cytoskeleton protein, slit diaphragm protein were evaluated by Western blot and real-time PCR. Results Compared with the control group, 10 days after injection of PAN, 24 hours urine protein was obviously increased, and the expression and transcrip-tion level of podocyte injury marker desmin, apoptosis, podocyte cytoskeleton protein, slit diaphragm protein were upregulated greatly, however, those were signifi-cantly lower in fenofibrate treated group as compared with those in PAN group. Conclusions PPAR-α ago-nist fenofibrate can ameliorate PAN-induced glomerulus podocyte injury, and the mechanism involved may be associated with inhibition of the mitochondria apopto-sis, TGF-β/Smad pathway and p38 pathway.

As a commonly used non-contact flatness detection method, laser triangular detection method is designed with low cost, but it cannot avoid measurement errors caused by strip steel vibration effectively. This paper puts forward a dynamic flatness image processing method based on improved laser triangular detection method. According to the practical application of strip steel straightening, it completes the image pre-processing, image feature curve extraction and calculation of flatness elongation using digital image processing technology. Finally it eliminates elongation measurement errors caused by the vibration.

The toroidal ion trap is an ideal candidate for miniaturized ion trap because it has much higher ion trapping capacity than a standard quadrupole ion trap of equal trapping dimensions. A novel toroidal ion trap mass analyzer with triangular electrode which contained a filament end cap, a detector endcap, an inner ring and an outer ring was reported. After designing and optimizing the electrodes by theoretical simulations, we found that the asymmetric triangle electrodes could reduce the affection from toroidal shape and improve the ion ejection rate and the mass resolution of the ion trap. The best design of the toroidal ion trap with a mass resolution of 1486 at m/z 609 was obtained.

To observe the dynamic change of parasites in the brains of BALB/c mice infected with Angiostrongylus cantonensis in order to explore its possible mechanism of pathogenesis', BALB/c mice infected with the III stage larvae of A.cantonensis were observed and killed in different times after infection. The number and distribution of parasites in the brains of the infected mice were observed microscopically and macroscopically. It was found that the larvae of A.cantonensis were distributed in the cerebrum and cerebellum of mice in accordance with the rule of parasitization of worms in the host, i.e.multiplication at first and then dropping in number. And the places where the parasites located were damaged due to mechanical action or inflammatory reactions. The time of onset of symptoms, such as ataxia and twitch was coincided with the dynamic changes in the brains of the infected mice.

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of androgen receptor (AR) and embryonic stem cell associated transcripts 4 (NANOG) in breast cancer patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) over-expression, and to analyze its relationship with clinicopathologic features of breast cancer. Methods 143 breast cancer patients with HER-2 over-expression were selected from the screening of 1052 cases of invasive breast cancer according to estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and HER-2 status. The protein expression of AR and NANOG was assayed by using immunohistochemistry. The relationship between AR expression and clinicopathological features was analyzed by χ2 test. The correlation between AR expression and NANOG expression was analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results The positive expression of AR was 35.7 % (51/143). The AR expression was not associated with age and menstruation status (both P>0.05), and was associated with tumor size, clinical TNM staging and lymphatic metastasis (all P< 0.05). The positive rate of NANOG were 53.1 %(76/143), and NANOG proteins were negative in adjacent normal breast tissue and benign breast lesions. The positive rate of AR was 27.6%(21/76) in NANOG-positive cases, whereas the positive rate of AR was 44.8%(30/67) in NANOG-negative cases, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=4.526, P=0.033). There was an inverse correlation between NANOG and AR expressions (r= -0.255, P= 0.002). Conclusion AR and NANOG may be new targets for endocrine therapy and molecular biological therapy.

Objective:To study the signal enhancement of lung adenocarcinoma nude mice after injection of immunomagnetic bead solution (magnetic beads conjugated with monoclonal antibody NJ001) in micro-CT scan. Methods:The models of lung adenocarcino-ma nude mice were established by injecting SPC-A1-luc cells through the tail vein and were validated by bioluminescence imaging (BLI). The nude mice were divided into three groups: physiological saline group, bare magnetic bead group, and immunomagnetic bead group. Three groups of nude mice were injected with physiological saline, 750 nm bare magnetic bead solution, and immuno-magnetic bead solution via the tail vein every week, and micro-CT scan was taken before and 4 h after injection. Immunohistochemis-try (IHC) was used to detect the expression of antigen SP70 in tumor tissues. Results:The tumor was detected in the immunomagnetic bead group at the fourth week, whereas in the physiological saline and bare magnetic bead groups, the tumor was undetectable until the sixth week. The tumor intensities detected at the sixth week by micro-CT scan in the physiological saline, bare magnetic bead, and immunomagnetic bead groups were 59.05 ± 0.66, 60.69 ± 0.55, and 58.25 ± 0.32 before injection and 60.30 ± 1.83, 61.05 ± 0.68, and 67.41±3.82 after injection, respectively. Compared with the tumor intensities before injection, they significantly increased after injec-tion in the immunomagnetic bead group;the difference was statistically significant (P=0.0079). By contrast, no statistical significance was observed in the tumor intensities before and after injection in the physiological saline and bare magnetic bead groups (P=0.1867 and P=0.3839, respectively). Conclusion:The immunomagnetic beads had enhanced effect on micro-CT scan of lung adenocarcinoma nude mouse models.
