Objective To survey the 238U radioactivity level in the surface soil in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Border (BTHB) region,and to prepare a high resolution distribution map of 238U activity concentrations.Methods The soil samples were collected in a grid (10 km × 10 km).The activity concentrations of 238U in soil samples were measured by using HPGe γ spectrometry.The distribution of the activity concentrations of 238U in soil samples was mapped by the aid of MAPGIS software.Results In total,416 samples were collected and measured.The activity concentrations of 238U were in the range of 0.1-106.0 Bq/kg,with an average of 34.7 Bq/kg.The 238U activity concentration distribution map showed that 238U activity concentration was in the range of 15-55 Bq/kg mostly on the surface soil in the BTHB region.Conclusions The map of 238U activity concentration shows the distribution of 238U activity concentration in the BTHB region.It is of importance to map the distribution of 238U activity concentration in the BTHB region,by converting a huge amount of data into the simple and intuitive graphics,and for evaluating the regional environmental radioactivity and studying the radioactive substance migration within the locality.

Objective To investigate the effects of inhaling isoflurane and enflurane on the spontaneous neural discharge of the neurones in rat hippocampus. Methods Whole cell patchclamp recording te chnique was used to observe the effects of isoflurane and enflurane on the spont aneous discharge rate of the neurons in the hippocampus on the brain slice of ne w-born SD rats. After decapitation, the whole brain of the rat was removed and put into artificial cerebrospinal fluid (ACSF) saturated with 1.36 g?L -1 O 2 and 0.098 g?L -1 CO 2 mixed gas at 4 ℃ . Brain was cut into 300～400 ? m thick slices containing the hippocampus. Whole cell patchc lamp recording technique was used to observe the effects of isoflurane with dif ferent concentrations on the spontaneous discharge rate of neurons in the hippoc ampus on the brain slices. Results Isoflurane and enfluran e could significantly inhibit the spontaneous neural discharge of neurons in the hippocampus in a dose-dependant manner. The effects of spontaneous neural disc harge of hippocampus inhibited by isoflurane (0.12 g?L -1 ～0.36 g?L -1 ) and enflurane (0.2 g?L -1 ～0.6 g?L -1 ) could be recove red following washing off with ACSF for 5 min. Conclusion T he spontaneous discharge rate of neurons in the hippocampus can be reversibly in hibited by isoflurane and enflurane. Hippocampus may be an important action site of anesthetics isoflurane and enflurane in the central nervous system.

Objective To evaluate the safety of plasma volume replacement with HAES 130/0.4 during non-cardiac surgery in terms of hemodynamic stability, blood gases, hepato-renal function, blood coagulation and adverse reactions. Methods This was a five center prospective study comparing the safety and efficacy of HAES 130/0.4(6%) with HAES 200/0.5(6%)in a double-blind fashion. The selection criteria included ASA Ⅰ Ⅱ patients of both sex, aged 18-65yrs undergoing non-cardiac surgery of which the intraoperative blood loss was expected to exceed 400ml. Patients whose Hb

39 healthy volunteers were experimentally inoculated with Plasmodium vivax from Guangxi by mosquito bite, and 32 of them were successfully infected. 25 of the infected volunteers (78.1%) had a short incubation period (mean: 16.4 days) prior to the onset of malaria attack, while seven individuals had long-term incubation period of 238 to 314 days (mean: 274.7?29.3 days). Relapses occurred in all cases with short-term incubation period after a long latency without exception; most of them had l to 2 relapses, some, 3 relapses. Among the seven cases with long incubation period, only one relapse occurred in five, and the remaining two had no relapse at all. It was shown that although Guangxi was situated in subtropical zone, Plasmodium vivax there was characteristie of the temperate zone type. A comparison of Plasmodium vivax from Guangxi with those from south Yunnan and Henan suggested that they differ in the composition of sporozoite subpopulations classified arbitrarily according to the duration of development of bradysporozoites in hepatic cells.

Objective To explore the main inhalational and alimentary allergens which triggers allergic asthma in children in Suzhou area.Methods The serum specific aspiration allergens were detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in 119 children with bronchial asthma,including 7 kinds of common inhalational allergens.The 6 kinds of alimentary allergens test was conducted in 65 children.Results The total inhalational allergens positive rate of the subject was 75.63%(90/119).The highest rate was dust mite 49.58%(59/119),then was house dust 21.02%(25/119),animal hair 19.33%(23/119).The positive rate of aspiration allergens increased with the patient′s age and showed a positive correlation.Positive rate of food allergens was 49.23%(32/65).Of them,the highest rate was fish 20.0%(13 cases),then was lobster and claw 16.92%(11 cases),egg 12.31%(8 cases).Conclusions Inhalational allergens are the main allergens in children with asthma in Suzhou district.The positive rate of aspiration allergens increases with the patient′s age.The most common allergen is dust mite.The allergen test plays a clinically significant and advisable role in treatment and prognosis in bronchial asthma in children.

OBJECTIVETo investigate effects of elastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children.

METHODSFrom July 2006 to December 2011, 25 children with radical neck fractures, which included 16 males and 9 females aged from 7 to 15 years old (means 10.7), were treated with elastic stable intramedullary nails. According to Judet classification, 6 cases were type II, 17 cases were type III and 2 cases were type IV (including 1 case with type IVa and 1 case with type IVb). The fracture healing, pain, deformity and range of motion of elbow were recorded.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months with an average of 14 months. Twenty-five patients were obtained bone healing. According to Tibone and Stoltz evaluation standard, 18 cases got excellet results, 4 cases in good and 3 cases in moderate.

CONCLUSIONElastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children has advantages of simple operation,less trauma and good results.

Establishment of combination of disease and syndrome animal model is an ideal technology platform in TCM research. Currently, many scholars have prepared matching IBS animal models combined typical animal models with etiology, which em-bodies the advantages of syndrome differentiation and promotes the development of combination disease and syndrome animal model. Even though, there still exists some problems about sub-jective evaluation on syndromes, paying more attention on dis-ease and less on syndromes. Therefore, we should deepen the pathogenesis of diseases and TCM syndromes research on animal model replication and improve the method of construction of combination of disease and syndrome animal model through the biological research of combination of disease and syndrome sys-tem. By this way, the idea of preparation animal models will be more mature and the scientific connotation of TCM will be pres-ented more exactly.

Objective To investigate the treatment of severe Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) . Methods The clinical data of 95 patients with severe BCS from November 1994 to June 1999 were retrospectively analyzed . Results Mesocaval C shunt with artificial graft was performed in 51 cases , splenojugular shunt with artificial graft in 23 cases ,mesojuglar shunt with artificial graft in l case , percutaneous transhepatic recanalization and dilation and/or stent placement of main hepatic vein (MHV) in 10 case, and combined PTA and stent placement of inferior vena cava (IVC) and mesocaval shunt in 10 cases . 5～60 months follow-up showed excellent result in 65 patients , good results in 25 and 5 cases dead. Conclusions Good results could be obtained by most of the severe BCS patients treated by different procedures according to the pathological changes of IVC and main hepatic vein.

AIM: To observe clinical effect of Fuzheng Guben Granules on mid-terminal esophagus cancer in combination with radiotherapy. METHODS: 232 patients of mid-terminal esophagus cancer were divided randomly into radiotherapy group and Fuzheng Guben Granules associated with radiotherapy. 1.8-2.0 Gy per day, total 50-70 Gy/5-8 weeks. During the course of treatment with Fuzheng Guben Granules and radiotherapy, Fuzheng Guben Granules was administrated, 15 g once, 50-55 days as a treatment course. RESULTS: The survival rates of the radiotherapy group in 1,3,5 years were 41.4%, 14.7%,7.6%. The survival rates of Fuzheng Guben Granules associated with radiotherapy group were 63.8%,29.3%,19.03% in contrast, the survival rates of Fuzheng Guben Granules associated with radiotherapy group were obviously superior to the radiotherapy group in 1.3.5 years (P
