AIM: To investigate the pharmacological effects of recombined basic fibroblast growth factor (rbFGF) on retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) of rats. METHODS: Using calibrated cross-action forceps a moderate crush injury was inflicted on the nerve. After crush injury, rbFGF, saline and VB 12 were administered by retrobublar injection. Four weeks after injury , the apoptosis of RGCs was measured with flow cytometer. RESULTS: Four weeks after operation, it was shown that the rbFGF, but not saline or VB 12 injection could significantly improve the maintainance of RGCs of rats. After 800 U, 1600 U and 2400 U rbFGF injection, the injured RGCs were rescued by 24.5%, 27.3% and 28.5% respectively. Furthermore, it was also found that rbFGF injection could effectively prevent the axons from injury. The flow cytometer showed that the rate of apoptosis was reduced markedly on 7 days at rbFGF group. CONCLUSION: rbFGF can significantly promote the functional repair of injured optic nerve. [

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of flunarizine combined with salvianolate in the treatment of acute migraine. METHODS:A total of 72 patients with acute migraine were randomly divided into control group(36 cases)and observation group (36 cases). Based on routine treatment,control group was given Flunarizine hydrochloride capsules orally,10 mg for 65 year-old and below once a day,5 mg for more than 65 year-old once a day. Observation group was additionally given Flunarizine hydrochloride for injection 200 mg intravenously,once a day,on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated contineously till cured or for 2 weeks. Clinical efficacy,onset time,recovery time,VAS score,frequency and duration of head-ache attack,ADR were observed in 2 groups. RESULTS:In the course of treatment,the two groups did not terminate and fall off, and all of them completed the treatment. The total response rate(97.22%)of observation group was significantly higher than that (86.11%)of control group;onset time and recovery time of observation group were both shorter than those of control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in VAS score,frequency or duration of headache attack between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment,VAS score,frequency and duration of headache attack in 2 groups were all significantly lower than before,and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups (P>0.05). CONCLU-SIONS:Based on routine treatment,flunarizine hydrochloride capsules combined with Salvianolate injection show significant effica-cy for acute migraine with good safety.

Objective To summarize the characteristics of epidemiology,clinic and radiography of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP) in children.Methods Two hundred and one MPP patients were selected as our subjects who hospitalized in Kailuan General Hospital Affiliated to Hebei United University from Jan.to Dec.2013.All clinical data were recorded.Results Of 412 children with pneumonia,201 children were developed MPP(48.97％).There was significant difference among different age groups regarding of MPP incidence rate(x2 =62.04,P ＜ 0.05),and the highest incidence was in school-age group(71.59％).There was significant difference among the different month,and the MPP cases were more occurred at January,July,September,October and November.The main clinical manifestations were cough (201cases,100％),fever(136 cases,67.66％),moist rales (168 cases,83.58％),breathing (58 casses,28.86％).And parts of children (23.38％) were complicated with extra pulmonary symptoms.The blood WBC of most MPP patients were without obvious increase and blood WBC of 136 cases(67.66％) was less than 10 × 109/L.The cases with hsCRP (＜ 5 mg/L or-10 mg/L) accounted for 36.32％ or 22.39％.Imaging examination results showed that 64 cases were with bronchovascular shadow,73 cases with spot and schistic shadow,64 cases with lobar pneumonia and 3 cases with pleural effusion.Conclusion Clinicians sholud make the early diagnosis and treatment of MPP based on epidemiology,clinical and image comprehensive characteristics of MPP.

Objective:To investigate the effect of DKK1 on linearly patterned programmed cell necrosis (LPPCN) and vasculogenic mim-icry (VM) and the related molecular mechanism in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods:A total of 173 human NSCLC speci-mens were collected to detect LPPCN by H&E staining, detect VM with CD31/PAS double staining, and investigate DKK1 and related protein expression by immunohistochemistry. The clinical pathological significance of LPPCN, VM, and DKK1 and the correlation of them were analyzed. Human NSCLC H460-DKK1 cells were engrafed in nude mice to evaluate the influence of DKK1 up-regulation on VM and LPPCN in vivo. Results:Approximately, 14.45%(25/173) of NSCLC had VM and 49.71%(86/173) had LPPCN. 25.6%(22/86) of NSCLC cases in LPPCN-positive group formed VM. Both of VM and LPPCN were all correlated with poor differentiation, late TNM stage, easy recurrence and metastasis and poor prognosis in NSCLC. DKK1 expression in the VM-positive group and the LPPCN-positive group was higher than that in the VM-negative group and the LPPCN-negative group, respectively. DKK1, LPPCN, and VM were positive-ly correlated with VE-cadherin, MMP-2,β-catenin nuclear expression and Twist1. H460-DKK1 transplantation tumor model confirmed that DKK1 promotes the expression of VM and LPPCN and related proteins in NSCLC. Conclusion:The increase of theβ-catenin and Twist1 expression induced by DKK1 may promote the formation of LPPCN and VM in NSCLC.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the predictive value of HCV RNA in PBMC of patients with chronic hepatitis C to IFN treatment.

METHODSThe HCV RNAs in PBMC were detected at the end of treatment, and 24 week and 1 year follow up after end treatment, in 16 patients who acquired complete response to IFN in 12 weeks of 24 weeks therapy.

RESULTS9 patients were HCV RNA positive in their PBMC at the end of treatment, the serum HCV RNA of 8 turned positive after 24 weeks and 1 year follow-up. In 7 patients with negative HCV RNA in PBMC, only two patients relapsed in serum HCV RNA after 1 year follow-up, and others remained viral response after 3.5 years.

CONCLUSIONHCV RNA in PBMC at the end of treatment was a predictor of the durable response to antiviral therapy in chronic hepatitis C.

Objective To investigate the effect of continuous care provided by midwife group personnel to pregnant women.Methods 100 cases of pregnant women were screened out and divided into the study group and the control group with 50 patients in each group randomly.The study group received continuous care provided by midwife group personnel,the control group received traditional nursing.Effect of different nursing measures on mothers and neonates were compared.Results Antenatal cognition and rate of natural delivery of the study group were higher than the control group.The rate of neonatal asphyxia and postpartum depression occurred in the study group were lower than the control group,Maternal and family sarisfaction and rates of breasffeeding of the study group were higher than the control group.Conclusions Continuoas care provided by midwife group personnel can increase antenatal cognition and rate of natural delivery,maternal and family satisfaction.breast feeding rates and the overall quality of nursing staff,reduce rate of neonatal asphyxia with few postpartum depression,then improve the quality of perinatal care.

Objective To explore the prevalence of self reposed mania/hypomania symptoms of depressive disorders and the difference between the two self-rating symptoms questionnaires in setting of psychiatric clinic of a general hospital.Methods 102 outpatients who were diagnosed with depressive disorders by ICD-10 in department of psychiatry of Tongji Hospital of Tongji University were continuously investigated and fulfilled the Chinese Version mood disorder questionnaire(CV-MDQ)and the Chinese Version 32 items hypomania check list(CVHCL-32).The positive mania symptoms were elevated with at least seven positive mania items reported by the CVMDQ.The positive hypomania symptoms were elevated with at least fourteen positive hypomania items reported by the CV-HCL-32.Results The internal consistency(Cronbach alpha)of the CV-MDQ was 0.808(95% CI=0.767～0.845,P<0.01).The internal consistency(Cmnbach alpha) of the CV-HCL-32 was 0.916(95% CI=0.898～0.930,P<0.01).11 patients(10.8%) reported positive mania symptoms by the CV-MDQ.14 patients (13.7%)had been reported positive hypomania symptoms through the CV-HCL-32.The ability of discriminating mania or hypomania between the two scales was significantly different(Kappa=0.227,P<0.05).Compared to the patients who were reported negative hypomania symptoms by the CV-HCL-32.the 11 patients with positive hypomania symptoms by the CV-HCL-32 had much earlier age in first episode(35.0 vs 50.5,z=-2.065,P<0.05),much longer months in total disease course(60.0 vs 22.0,z=-2.102,P<0.05)and present episode (12.0 vs 6.0,z=-2.180,P<0.05),and much higher frequency of relapse(2.5 vs 1.0,z=-2.168,P<0.05),but no significant differences at age,gender and education.No significant differences appeared between CV-MDQ positive and negative group.Conclusion Mania or hypomania symptoms may be screened by CV-MDQ and CV-HCL-32 from the outpatients with depressive disorders who are diagnosed by ICD-10 in general hospital.whether CV-HCL-32 is superior to CV-MDQ when screening bipolar Ⅱ disorder is worthly further study.

ObjectiveTo introduce clinical experience of the modified lateral crural reverse island skin flap with two sets of blood supply system for aged ankle & foot soft tissue defect.MethodsOn the anatomy base that cutaneous artery branches of lateral crural reverse island skin flap and perforating branches of sural neurocutaneous vascular flap were originated from peroneal artery, we designed the modified lateral crural reverse island skin flap located in posterolateral cruris treated for aged ankle & foot soft tissue defect. The modified flap had two sets of blood supply system which were from lateral crural flap and sural neurocutaneous flap.ResultsAll 11 flaps survived. The skin grafting of donor sites healed well. Followed up 3-9 months, six cases were satisfactory. Five cases with extensor defect were regained by tendon transplantation after 3 months of the operations.Conclusion The modified lateral crural reverse island skin flap with two sets of blood supply system is a good method for aged ankle & foot soft tissue defect.
