Objective:This study was aimed to investigate the safety and feasibility of applying duodenal feeding tube in thoracoscopy-and laparcoscopy-guided esophagectomy for esophageal carcinoma. Methods:Clinical data of 73 esophageal carcinoma patients who underwent esophagectomy and received a duodenal feeding tube by thoracoscopy and laparoscopy from March 2011 to September 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. Modes of operation included the separation of the esophagus by thoracoscopy, separation of the stomach by laparoscopy, reconstruction of the digestive tract, and so on. Results:A duodenal feeding tube was carefully placed at the site of esopha-gectomy of the patient. Operation time lasted from 180 min to 410 min, with an average of 273 min. The duodenal feeding tube was placed at 27 min into the operation. Intra-operative blood loss ranged from 50 mL to 450 mL, with an average of 120 mL. No post-operative death was encountered among the cases. After surgery, anastomotic fistula and gastrointestinal discomfort occurred in 2 and 5 of the 73 cases, respectively. Conclusion:Placement of a duodenal feeding tube at the site of esophagectomy through thoracoscopy and laparoscopy is completely safe and feasible.

Objective To study the effects of lipopolysaccharide(LPS) on the expression of toll like receptor 4 (TLR4), reactive oxygen species(ROS) and on the proliferation of cells as well as secretion of six proinflammmatory cytokines including TNF-α, IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12 levels in SKOV3 cells. And to explore the mechanism of SKOV3 cells in regulation. Methods Cultured primary SKOV3 cells were stimulated with different concentrations of LPS (0.01 μg/ml, 0.1 μg/ml, 1 μg/ml, 10 μg/ml and 20 μg/ml) for 4 h, the TLR4 expression in SKOV3 cells were examined by flow cytometry;1 μg/ml LPS stimulated SKOV3 for 4 h, 8 h, 12 h, 24 h respectively, the TLR4 expression and cell cycle in SKOV3, cell proliferation, ROS level as well as cells and TNF-α and IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12 levels in the culture medium were assayed by flow cytometry, MTT, CBA assay respectively. Results LPS with different concentrations of LPS stimulation in-duced an increased TLR4 expression, however, the expression was reduced when LPS concentration up to 10 μg/ml. LPS stimulation for 4 h, 8 h induced an increased TLR4 expression and cell proliferation. Stimulated for 24 h, however, the TLR4 expression and cell growth were inhibited in S period. Meanwhile, LPS stimulation for 4 h, 8 h, 12 h, 24 h induced a higher ROS secretion in comparison with control group. LPS stimulation induced a stronger cytokine response in comparison with control group, as demonstrated by the production of TNF-α, IL-1, IL-6, IL-8 secretion in cultured SKOV3 cells, while IL-10 and IL-12 with low expression have no obvious difference in the all medium samples. Conclusion TLR4 expression, cell proliferation, ROS and proin-flammmatory cytokine secretion could be induced in SKOV3 through LPS stimulation. The study provide new ex-periment evidences for human ovarian cells SKOV3 immunity regulation and inflammation reaction to promote cells inhibition after LPS stimulation.

Objective To observe the preliminary effects of the treatment for early non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head with Madopar. Methods Thirty-one patients with 48 hips of early stage (Ficat Ⅰ,Ⅱ) non-traumatic necrosis of the femoral head were treated with oral administration of Madopar since 2002. The disease was associated with consumption of alcohol in 16 cases with 27 hips; use of steroids in 10 cases with 13 hips; both consumption of alcohol and use of steroids in 2 cases with 4 hips; the remaining 3 cases, the condition was idiopathic. According to the criteria of Ficat et al., there were 4 hips in stage Ⅰ; 40 in stage Ⅱa and 4 in stage Ⅱb. Eighteen patients had received madopar for 10-28 months; 13 patients had been receiving the drug until now. Follow-up examinations were made by radiography, MRI and Charnley modified Merle d'Aubigne score. Results All patients were followed up for 12-84 months (average 27.8 months). The clinical symptoms improved in all cases. X-ray films showed that the bone density increased in nearly all the femoral heads, and 68.75%(33/48) of them maintained their shapes. The follow-up MRI showed their necrotic indices had decreased. The rate of clinical satisfaction was 91.67%(44/48), and the successful rate of treatment was 72.92%(35/48), and the collapse rate of early stage necrosis of the femoral head is 27.08%(13/48). Conclusion The preliminary results showed that madopar could prevent or delay collapse of the femoral head in early stage of osteonecrosis.

Objective To evaluate the application of improved belly board in postoperative patients of rectal cancer radiotherapy and explore the influence of its set-up repeatability. Methods CBCT was used to measure the intra fractional and inter fractional setup errors using normal or improved belly board respectively. The data was analyzed with statistic method. Results There was no significance of intra fractional setup errors on x-axis (P > 0.05).There was significance on y and z-axis (P < 0.05).There was no significance of interfrational setup errors on x-axis (P > 0.05) and there was significance on y and z-axis (P < 0.05) using normal belly board. There was no significance of intrafractional setup errors on x,y and z-axis (P > 0.05).There was also no significance of interfractional setup errors on x,y and z-axis (P > 0.05) with using improved belly board. Conclusion The method of improved belly board has more advantage than nomal belly board in controlling set-up repeatability, and it is conductive to improve accuracy of patients treatment.

The superficial middle cerebral veins (SMCV) of 50 human heads were dissectedunder the operating microscope (10?).There were 122 terminal braches of the SMCV in the specimens and the typesof their drainage can be divided into four:type 1 (41.00%)—drains into the caver-nous sinus;type 2 (24.60%)—drains into the variant venous sinus in the lateralwall of the cavernous sinus;type 3(28.70%)—drains into the variant venous sinus inthe dura of the middle cranial fossa;type 4(5.70%)—drains into other dural venoussinuses.Type 1 may be considered as normal and the others as variant. The two variant dural venous sinuses reported are respectively located in thelateral wall of the cavernous sinus, named“the lateral wall sinus of the cavernoussinus”,and in the dura of the middle cranial fossa, named the“variant sinus ofthe middle cranial fossa”.The former occurred 27% in the specimens and the later25%.We have discussed about the drainage of the SMCV and two variant dural ven-ous sinuses on the embryonic basis and the clinical practice.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(04):-
A new kind of curcin (curcin 2), induced by several kinds of stresses from Jatropha curcas leaves, under the control of the 35S CaMV (cauliflower mosaic virus) promoter, was introduced into tobacco genome by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation method. Curcin 2 protein was only detected in the transgenic tobacco plants transformed with the cur2p fragment (coding premature curcin 2 protein), but not in the plants transformed with cur2m fragment (coding mature curcin 2 protein). The transgenic lines expressing curcin 2 showed increased tolerance to tobacco mosaic virus (TMV).
