Objective To explore the relationship of hypertension prevalence and body weight in children and teenagers in Changping district of Beijing. Methods With stratified cluster sampling, 4 247 students (2 090 female and 2 157 male) aged 7~18 yrs from primary and middle schools in Changping district were investigated in May to October, 2007, and examined on their body height, weight, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, fasting blood glucose, etc. Data was analyzed with SPSS11.5. Objective To make a comparison between noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP) and invasive blood pressure (IBP). Method Totally 450 patients undergoing selective surgery received radial artery or dorsalispedis artery puncture and catheter under local anesthesia to figure out the difference between NIBP and IBP. Results The systolic blood pressure difference of IBP from different positions and NIBP were as follows:left radial artery group (18.20 ± 0.67, 15.27 ± 0.62) mmHg, right radial artery group (18.54 ± 0.79, 14.68 ± 0.77) mmHg, left foot dorsal artery group (41.98 ± 2.26, 40.54 ± 1.77) mmHg and right foot dorsal artery group (37.57 ± 0.01, 37.93 ± 2.90) mmHg. The noninvasive systolic blood pressure difference between left and right arms was (2.84 ± 0.45) mmHg, the noninvasive diastolic blood pressure difference (3.19 ± 0.34) mmHg, and the noninvasive mean blood pressure difference (2.85 ± 0.35) mmHg. The NIBP of right arm was higher than that of left arm. Conclusions IBP is higher than NIBP, and the invasive artery systolic blood pressure is about 20mmHg higher than noninvasive systolic blood pressure. Meanwhile we confirm that systolic blood pressure gradually rises over 30 years old, and diastolic blood pressure increases while gradually declines after 50.

Objective Health education was provided among driving coaches with overweight or obesity to improve their self-healthcare awareness.Methods Of 116 driving coaches from Changping District who underwent physical examinations and biochemical tests, 79 were confirmed to have overweight or obesity and received body weight management.Results Following 3 years of health management, 79 overweight or obese participants showed significant improvement in waist circumference ((93.5±8.4) vs (92.0±9.5) cm), systolic blood pressure ((130.8±12.4) vs (127.8±11.6) mm Hg, 1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa), diastolic blood pressure ((87.0±9.7) vs (85.6±9.3) mm Hg), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ((1.1±0.4) vs (1.2±0.3) mmol/L), and glucose ((5.6±1.5) vs (5.4±1.6) mmol/L) (all P<0.05). Awareness of obesity-related knowledge showed significant difference before and after the intervention (P<0.05), although no changes of chronic diseases and abnormal measurements were found (P>0.05).Conclusion Overweight and obesity in middle-aged adults is of concern and needs long-term effective interventions.

Objective　To investigate the expression of LPS receptor-CD14(CD14) on the membrane of Kupffer′s cells (KCs) induced by Lipopolysaccharide (LPS )and its role in activation of KCs and production of cytokines. Methods　KCs were isolated by collagenase perfused Wistar rats and routinely cultured in 24-well dishes for 12 h. Cells were harvested and adjusted to a concentration of 1×106/ml/well and were devided into two groups. Group of LPS: KCs were induced with different concentration of LPS (0, 100 ng/ml, 1 μg/ml and 100 μg/ml). Group of PI-PLC: KCs were pre-incubated for 30 min with one unit of phophatidy linositol specific phospholipase C (PI-PLC) before different concentrations of LPS were added. KCs were cultured for 30 and 60 min respectively. Supernatants were then collected for measuring the level of TNFα and IL-6. Cells were stained by indirect immunofluorescent method ( rabbit anti-CD14 antibody and goat anti-rabbit IgG conjugated with FITC ) and analyzed with flow cytometer (FCM). The percentage and mean fluorescence intensity (FI) of CD14-positive cells were taken as the indexes. Results　In LPS group, after incubation of cells with increasing concentration of LPS, a significant increase in the percentage of CD14 positive KCs were found and the mean FI was stronger when compared with the control points or the group of PI-PLC. The levels of TNFα and IL-6 in supernatant also increased (P<0.01). In group of PI-PLC, decreased percentage of CD14 positive KCs and weakened mean FI were found when compared with group of LPS. The increasing production of TNFα and IL-6 slowed down in the group of PI-PLC. Conclusion　CD14 expression of KCs might be up-regulated by LPS with increase of some cytokines. The production of cytokines in KCs induced by LPS is partially inhibited by PI-PLC.

Objective advance“equal pay for equal work” standard for contract nurses,and approach for effective means of stabilizing nursing staff.Methods in order to improve of nursing staff's ideological understanding,personnel department and nursing department utilize their advantages of political work in the the Communist Party,the Communist Youth League and the Labor Unions,and bridge the cap between contract and staff nurses in clinical department in terms of welfares and promotion to realize the goal of “equal pay for equal work”.Results all contract nurses join the Labor Union.contract nurses play active role in the Commtmist Youth League.Salaries,insurance and other welfares for contract nurses are guaranteed.Contract nurses enjoy equal opportunity of promotion in technical positions and of open recruitment as registered nurses.Conclusion treatment disparity has been effectively alleviated between contract and staff nurses,so that the nursing staff becomes stable.

Based on the review of status of schistosomiasis transmission and surveillance in P.R. China,this article analyzed the present challenges in the surveillance on schistosomiasis. The focus on schistosomiasis surveillance and the needs for improv-ing surveillance system after the achievement of transmission control of schistosomiasis were explored.

Objective To observe the short term effects of Rho-kinase inhibitor and Qiliqiangxin capsule on serum tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels in patients with chronic heart failure,and explore the mechanism.Methods 120 chronic heart failure patients received conventional treatment for 4 weeks were divided into blank control group(Group A,n=30),Rho-kinase inhibitor treated group(Group B,n=30), Qiliqiangxin capsules-treated group (Group C,n =30 ),and the other 30 cases were treated with Rho-kinase inhibitor combined with Qiliqiangxin capsules(GroupD,n=30).TNF-α,IL-6 and BNP were measured and cardiac function was evaluated before and after treatment.The difference between 4 groups was analyzed. Results After treatment,the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,BNP in the observation group were lower than that in the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05 ).The levels of TNF-α,IL-6,BNP in the D group were lower than that in the B and C group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05 ).Conclusion Rho-kinase inhibitor combined with Qiliqiangxin capsule can improve cardiac function and reduce levels of serum cytokines associated with chronic heart failure,which is conducive to the treatment of chronic heart failure.

Objective To compare the efficacy of weight loss,metformin and rosiglitazone in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods A randomized controlled trial(RCT)was carried out in Peking Union Medical College Hospital(PUMCH),one hundred and six women with PCOS were assigned to three intervention groups:weight loss,weight loss and metformin,weight loss and rosiglitazone group.Patients were treated with weight loss(diet and exercise),weight loss and mefformin (500 mg three times daily),weight loss and rosiglitazone(4 mg once daily)for three months.Sixty patients completed treatments.Basal body temperature(BBT),total testosterone as well as fasting serum insulin levels and lipid were measured and compared in all patients before and after weight loss.Results No significant differences were found in the baseline characteristics among three groups.In weight loss group 51%(22/43)patients completed treatment,and 23%(5/22)patients resumed ovulation.In weight loss and mefformin group 58%(21/36)patients completed treatment,and 43%(9/21)patients resumed ovulation.In weight loss and rosiglitazone group 63%(17/27)patients completed treatment,and 59% (10/17)patients resumed ovulation.Ovulation rate was significantly higher in weight loss and rosiglitazone group than in weight loss group.There was no significant difference among three groups in body mass index (BMI),waist circumference,waist-hip ratio(WHR),sex hormone,serum fasting insulin and lipid level after treatment.Conclusion Weight loss,metformin and rosiglitazone all can improve ovulation each.
