Objective To study some sensitive electrophysiological parameters in surveillance of allograft rejection. Methods Forty rats underwent heterotopic heart transplantations.IMEG was re- corded by an epicardiac unipolar pacing lead fixed at the right ventricular outflow tract.QRS amplitude and heart rate were determed daily in 10 syngeneic and 30 allogeneic transplants.Syngeneic transplants were killed at 7 th postoperative day,and allogeneic transplants killed at 3 rd,5 th and 7 th postopera- tive day.Histopathologie studies were performed at every transplanted heart. Results In syngeneic group,QRS amplitude kept constant after the transplantation while no significant differences were ob- served at the 3 rd,5 th and 7 th postoperative day.QRS amplitude was dropped obviously in allogeneic group after the first two postoperative days whereas significant differences were observed at the rejec- ting and non-rejecting hearts. Conclusions IMEG is a valid method to monitor acute allograft rejec- tion.QRS amplitude is a more sensitive electrophysiological parameter to diagnose severe rejections than heart rate, while mild rejections were not detected by this method.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2007;5(1):61-4
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of salvianolic acid B (SA-B) on portal hypertension induced by endothelin-1 in rats. METHODS: Twenty-eight Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: ET-1 group, ET-1+SA-B group, ET-1+ET(A)R blocker (BQ-123) group and ET-1+ET(B)R blocker (BQ-788) group. The rats of ET-1+SA-B group underwent intragastrical administration of salvianolic acid B for five days before ET-1 injection, while in three other groups' drinking water was given. In BQ-123 group or BQ-788 group, an intravenous injection of BQ-123 or BQ-788 via femoral vein was administered 30 minutes prior to ET-1 injection. Then changes of portal pressure, cervical artery pressure and heart rate were monitored continuously. RESULTS: After ET-1 injection, the portal pressure of all rats in the ET-1 group increased significantly, while slightly in groups that pretreated with SA-B, BQ-123 or BQ-788. CONCLUSION: SA-B can attenuate the elevated portal pressure induced by ET-1 with effect similar to ETR blocker.

Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2006;0(05):-
[Objective] This study was to investigate the effect of TMP on function of EPCs in normal or hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)inducing injury model cell culture, and to approach a therapy to coronary heart disease(CHD).[Method] Total mononuclear cells were isolated from the cord blood by ficoll density gradient centrifugation, cultured in vitro. After the cells cultured for 7 days, identified them by cellmarkers and the ability of intaking the ac-LDL,and made sure they were EPCs.To divide the cells into three groups,TMP(5,25,100,200mg),H2O2(500??)model and TMP together with H2O2,cultured for 24h and then detected the function and apoptosis of EPCs.[Result] Versus to control group, the TMP(5,25,100mg)groups had no important effect on the proliferation and adhesion of EPCs,but TMP(200mg)group had negative effect on EPCs.Versus to H2O2 model group,TMP(5,25,100mg)preincubated groups had important protective effect on EPCs in proliferation, adhesion and apoptosis.[Conclusion] TMP could protect EPCs from oxidative stress injury, but had little benefit to EPCs in normal incubation.
9.Molecular Mechanism of Asthma Induced by Indoor Air Pollutants
Journal of Environment and Health 1993;0(01):-
During the last decade a lot of new learning about asthma was arisen along with the development of modern immunology and molecular biology, and asthma had been one hotspot in the studies of molecular biological and administer medical field. One of the new viewpoints was that airway neurogenic inflammation took important role in asthma development. For years scholars had suspected that airborne pollutants had an synergistic effect on the attack of asthma and could cause asthma attack, but they did not know the molecular mechanism. In 1991 Denish scholar Nielsen GD advanced a new hypothesis that airway irritation was mediated by capsaicin receptor. The pathological process included a molecular chain of message transfer as air pollutants_capsaicin receptor_Ca2+_substance P_neurokinin receptor.Airway neurogenic inflammation was the result of activation of the receptors. In 1997 American scholar Caterina MJ and his colleagues successfully obtained the cloned capsaicin receptor in expressing cells, this will make Nielsen GD's hypothesis living.
