Objective To study the adverse effect of mercury on the tibial nerves of rats. Methods Seventy SD rats (35 females, 35 males, weighed 160-200 g) were randomly divided into 4 groups. 40 rats in group 1 were used to test the acute toxicity of HgCl2, 10 rats in group 2 were given HgCl2 by gavage at 17 mg/kg(1/4 LD50) daily, in group 3 the dose was 8.5 mg/kg(1/8 LD50), 10 rats in group 4 were treated with 0.9% saline 2 ml by gavage daily, the experimental duration was (20?4) days. When the model had been developed, all the male rats were killed and the female rats in group 2 and 3 were given the chelator(DMPS) by intraperitoneal injection at 28 mg/kg for 2 periods of treatment, then were killed and the tibial nerves were examined with the electronic microscope. Results The oral LD50 of HgCl2 was 68.1 mg/kg. Seven rats in group 2 (7/10) were poisoned and two of them got pain manifestation. Six rats in group 3(6/10) were poisoned. Myelinoclasis and the changed axons were found in the tibial nerves of poisoned rats and it was more serious in the rats with pain. The chelator(DMPS) did not relieve the change. Conclusion Sub-acute poisoning of HgCl2 can induce degeneration of tibial nerves in SD rats .

[Objective]To explore the clinic results of the locking compression plate fixation for the acetabular fractures.[Method]Twenty-three patients were treated in the author's department, 16 of them were male and 7 were female patients.The ages ranged from 21 to 61 years, and mean age was 43.3 years.Ninteen patients had been injured in an automobile accident,3 were fell from height and 1 was crushed by a heavy object. The patients were classified according to Letournel classification.There were 7 anterior column fractures,3 posterior wall fractures,5 anterior wall fractures,2 transverse fractures,1 anterior column and posterior column fracture,1 T shape fracture, 3 posterior wall and posterior column fractures,1 transverse and posterior wall fracture.[Result]All the incisions healed during the primary procedure and all the patients were available at follow-up ranging from 3 to 24 months(average 20.1 months).The average intraoperation time was 123 minutes(50～235 minutes),and the intraoperative blood loss was 100 to 1500 ml.The patinents underwent blood transfusion from 0 ml to 1 200 ml.According to Matt's criteria, the rate of excellent and good was 73.9%(17/23).[Conclusion]The locking compression plate fixation is one of the effective methods for treatment of acetabular fractures, with the advantages of being simple and minimally traumatic.

Aim To investigate the effect of procyanidins on apoptosis in brain of experimental rats with intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) and its possible mechanisms.Method Rat intracerebral hemorrhage model was established by injecting collagenase into the brain caudate nucleus.Fifty-four health Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into six groups randomly: sham operation group,model group of intracerebral hemorrhage,treatment groups with procyanidins at doses of 50 mg?kg~-1,100 mg?kg~-1 and 200 mg?kg~-1,and positive control group with nimodipine at dose of 10 mg?kg~-1.Twentyfour hours after operation,the content of glutathione(GSH) and activity of catalase(CAT) were measured.The levels of bax and bcl-2 were detected by method of immunohistochemistry,and the apoptosis in brain tissues was detected by method of TUNEL.Result In procyanidins groups(50,100 and 200 mg?kg~-1),the content of GSH and the activity of CAT were significantly higher than those in ICH group(P

Objective Analyse the causes,diagnosis and treatment for delayed hemorrhage after distal radical gastrectomy.Methods Retrospective study on 45 patients combined with intro-abdominal hemorrhage after distal radical gastrectomy from January 2008 to June 2013.Results Thirteen patients combined with delayed hemorrhage in these 45 patients,all of 13 patients had intro-abdominal hemorrhage in 1week to 4 weeks after operation.And 5 of the 13 patiens were intermittent intro-abdominal hemorrhage 1 week after operation,these patients were demonstrated the blood come from gastroduodenal artery pseudoaneurysm fracture by CT and DSA examine,and they were cured by interventional embolization.Other 8 patients were marginal ulcer hemorrhage diagnosed by gastroscope,and they stoped bleeding with the help of gastroscope.Conclusions The causes of delayed hemorrhage after distal radical gastrectomy were complicated,and CT,DSA and endoscope can use for diagnosis.What was more,interventional embolization and endoscope were helpful for curing the intro-abdominal hemorrhage,avoiding re-operation.

Objective To evaluate the value of region Ⅵ lymph nodes in surgical treatment of cN0 papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC). Methods 98 cases of PTC with cN0 which received functional lymph nodes dissection were collected. We analyzed the results of pathologic examination by region Ⅵ lymph nodes distinguished from lateral neck lymph nodes(Ⅱ～Ⅴ) retrospectively. Results In 98 cases, the rate of region Ⅵ lymph nodes metastasis was 20.4 %(20 cases); the rate of region Ⅱ～Ⅴ lymph nodes metastasis was 13 cases(13.3 %). In cases with region Ⅵ lymph nodes metastasis, the rate of Ⅱ～Ⅴ lymph nodes metastasis was 45.0 %(9/20). Objective To explore the short-term and long-term efficacy of laparoscopic versus open liver resection(LLR)in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Methods The perioperative and follow-up data ofLLR(n = 43)and OLR(n = 73)for the treatment of HCC at the same period were analyzed respectively. Results There were no significant differences in the age,gender,Child-Pugh classification,liver cirrhosis, AFP,and hepatic virus affection between the 2 groups. 1 case in the LLR group was converted for the open surgery and another one case in the OLR group died in the perioperative time. However ,compared with OLR group ,the intraoperative blood loss of LLR group(P < 0.05)was larger and the mean operative time(P < 0.05)was longer. The liver function indicators of the regular hepatectomy subgroup were recovered more quickly(P<0.05),but the indicators of remaining subgroups were not significantly different. The postoperative ambulation time (P < 0.05), the postoperative eating time(P < 0.05),the postoperative hospital stay(P < 0.05)were all shorter. The VAS score was lower(P<0.05). There was no difference in the incidence and distribution of complications and the inci-dence of severe complications between the two groups(all P>0.05). The first and third year disease-free survival rates were 82.2%,53.8%for LLR and 91.5%,75.9%for OLR,respectively(χ2=0.55,P=0.46). The first and third 5 year overall survival rates were 94.2%,79.3%for LLR and 94.9%,47.3%for OLR,respectively(χ2=1.06, P=0.30). Conclusion LLR for HCC treatment is a safe and effective way with the advantages of minimal opera-tive trauma,quick recovery and significant short-term efficacy.

Transverse fracture is the most common in patella fracture and tension band fixation is one of the most effective methods. Surgical wire tension band technique is simple, the use of materials is also simple, but it is not strong and difficult to promote. Kirschner tension band technique can get satisfactory reduction with reliable fixation, but it is easy to complicate with steel wire breakage and Kirschner loosening. Screw tension band technique inherits the traditional advantages of simple manipulation and reliable fixation, also overcomes the disadvantages of early activity limitations caused soft tissue irritation of tension band around knee, the slippage and breakage of internal fixation, and the technique can be popularized generally.

Objective To explore the relationship between high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA and biological behavior of cervical carcinoma. Methods Sixty-six patients of cervical carcinoma with cytological examinations and 103 patients of cervical carcinoma followed-up after surgical operation were selected for high-risk HPV DNA test with second-generation hybrid capture technique (HC2 Ⅱ). Results ①HPV DNA was positive in 62 and negative in four of 66 patients of cervical carcinoma with an overall prevalence of 94%. ②There was no significant difference in positive HPV DNA of patients with cervical carcinoma between their varied clinical stages and pathologic grades. But, HPV positivity and HPV DNA load in patients with myometrial invasion were higher than those in patients without invasion (P < 0. 05).③ HPV DNA conversed to negative in 99 of 103 patients (96%) with cervical carcinoma after surgical operation from positivity before operation. Conclusions High-risk HPV infection may correlate with angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis of cervical carcinoma and HC2 Ⅱ can be used as an effective method to detect HPV DNA.

Objective To evaluate a modified liver hanging maneuver(retrohepatic tunnel of the IVC) in patients undergoing hemihepatectomy.Methods Twenty-four patients undergoing hemihepatectomy were divided into two groups:modified liver hanging maneuver group(n=12)and Pringle's maneuver group(n=12).The amount of intraoperative bleeding,operation time,postoperative liver function,liver function recovery and complications were compared between the two groups.Reset All operation were performed successfully and there were no difference in the time of operation etween the two groups.There was a difierence in the amount of mean intraoperative blood loss between the two groups.It was(160±40)ml in liver hanging group and(560±120)ml in Pringle's group(P＜0.01).Liver function recovery measured on postoperative day 3 and day 7 was better in liver hanging groupthan that in Pringle's group(P＜0.01).The volume of postoperative peritoneal serous fluid dranage was significantly less in liver hanging group(P＜0.01).Conclusion The modified liver hanging maneuver is useful for hemihepatectomy.

BACKGROUND: Centrifugal force is a contributing factor inducing osteoblastic differentiation from bone marrow stroma cells.OBJECTIVE: To explore whether centrifugal force promote osteoblastic differentiation from rabbit marrow stroma cell seeded on polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) scaffolds. METHODS: Rabbit bone marrow stroma cells were isolated and cultured by whole bone marrow method, purified by attachment method, and digested by trypsin-EDTA at 80% confluency. The cell concentration was adjusted to 1×10~9/L. PLGA was cut into pieces, 5 mm×5 mm, soaked in serum-conditioned culture medium for 24 hours. The third passage of bone stroma cell suspension at a density of 300 μL was respectively seeded into the PLGA material. The scaffold/cell compound was placed in centrifuge tube, with cell at the upper layer and cultured in osteoblastic induced medium containing antiscorbic acid, β-sodium glycerophosphate, and dexamethasone respectively under centrifugal force every 12 hours (1 000 r/min for 30 minutes, relative centrifugal force 132 g) and static condition. Alkaline phosphatase activity, osteocalcin content and calcium content as well as observation by light microscopy were used to evaluate osteoblastic differentiation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: After 16 days of in vitro culture, the scaffolds of centrifugal force group were coated by multiplayer cells and mineralized matrix, but only a thin layer of cells were observed on the scaffold of control group. The centrifugal force system resulted in a significant decrease in alkaline phosphatase activity at day 2 (P < 0.05) but significant increase at day 4 compared with the static culture condition (P < 0.05). During the whole culture time, osteocalcin secretion remained low in control group. At days 12 and 16, a significant enhancement in osteocalcin secretion was observed for centrifugal force culture compared with static culture conditions (P < 0.05). Moreover, after 16 days of culture a significant increase in calcium deposition was observed in the scaffolds subjected to centrifugal force compared with static culture condition (P < 0.05). Centrifugal force can enhance osteoblastic differentiation and mineralized matrix production of bone marrow stroma cell seeded in PLGA.
