A giant basilar artery aneurysm of young woman with endocrine disturbance was misdiagnosed as a large pituitary adenoma and treated surgically via a trans-sphenoidal approach was planned. But the neurosurgery was finally aborted because of massive bleeding during the procedure. One year later, a cerebral angiography confirmed this basilar artery aneurysm was obviously regressed and then endovascular coiling was successfully performed. No neurological complication occurred post-procedure and the endocrine dysfunction symptom was obviously improved.

Objective To study the clinical efficacy of intra-arterial thrombolysis with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) for the treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease caused by cerebral thrombosis. Methods A total of 245 patients accepted by our hospital during May 2013 and July 2015 were divided into the observation group (n=148) and the control group (n=97). All patients were given conventional process for controling blood pressure and blood lipids. Patients in observation group received intra-arterial thrombolysis with rt-PA, while patients in control group accepted conventional treatment. At the time of admission, the demographic characteristic, vascular influencing factors, baseline clinical findings, laboratory findings and neurological deficits were collected. The improvement of neurological function was evaluated by the modified Rankin scale 3 months after treatment. The levels of fibrinogen (FIB), D-Dimer, activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and thrombin time (PT) were measured before and 24 h after the treatment. Results There were no significant differences in demographic characteristic and general clinical data between the two groups ( P>0.05). The proportion of patients with improved neurological function was significantly higher in observation group than that of the control group (83.11%vs. 53.61%, P<0.05). There were no significant difference in coagulation index and fibrinolysis index before treatment between the two groups (P>0.05). Twenty-four hours after the treatment, the levels of FIB, D-Dimer, APTT and PT were significantly improved in the observation group compared with those before treatment. The level of FIB was significantly decreased, D-Dimer was significantly increased, APTT and PT were significantly prolonged in observation group compared with those of control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The rt-PA can effectively dissolve thrombosis and correct the coagulation system and fibrinolytic system.

OBJECTIVE Study the kidney toxic effects caused by burning coal endemic arsenism in rats, application bench mark dose (BMD) method to investigate the bench mark dose of urinary arsenic (UAs)and the changes in bio markers of renal function.METHODS Wistar rats were fed for 90 d with arsenic 0,25,50,100 mg·kg -1 conta minated feed.Urinary arsenic, kidney arsenic and renal function indicators were determined, and routine pathological and fibrosis of kidney were exa mined.UAs as the exposure bio marker,Uβ2-MG,UNAG and UALB for the effect bio markers, application bench mark dose method to calculate the BMD and BMDL of UAs for each effect bio markers.RESULTS UAs,KAs, Uβ2-MG,UNAG,UALB levels of rats in arsenic 100 mg·kg -1 group were increased than normal group (P <0.05);In light microscope, the results of HE staining of rat kidney in all arsenic dose groups showed infla mmatory cell infiltration, renal tubular epithelial cell swelling, renal interstitial capillary dila-tion,congestion and other varying degrees pathological changes, and the results of masson staining showed varying degrees of tubulointerstitial fibrosis;UAs as the exposure bio marker,Uβ2-MG,UNAG, UALB for the effects of mark, the BMD and BMDL of UAs for Uβ2-MG,UNAG,UALB were calculated, the BMD values were 998.9,1213.5,1386.9 μg·g -1 Cr,the BMDL values were 660.5,803.6 and 909. 4 μg·g -1 Cr,respectively.CONCLUSION Burning coal arsenic pollution can cause kidney da mage in rats, mini mal change nephropathy may be the pri mary pathological in the coal arsenic conta mination of kidney da mage. The BMD and BMDL of UAs were 998.9,660.5 μg·g -1 Cr,the early changes of renal function of burning coal arsenism in rats;it is reco mmended to use the more sensitive bio markers Uβ2-MG to calculate the biological exposure li mits on renal injury caused by arsenic.

Objective To study the effects of curcumin mediated photodynamic therapy (PDT)on the growth and proliferation in human cervical cancer cell line H8 in vitro and in vivo, and to investigate its antitumor mechanisms. Methods The effects of curcumin mediated PDT on proliferation of human cervical cancer H8 cell by MTT assay was used to screen the optimal parameter.Changes in cell morphology were observed by May-Gr ünwald-Farbstoff Giemsa staining. The apoptosis rate was estimated by flow cytometry. The effect of PDT by curcumin on the expressions of Bcl-2,P53 and survivin in H8 cells was detected by fluorescence real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Forty BALB/C nude mice underwent subcutaneous injection of H8 cell line so as to establish animal models, and then were randomly divided into four equal groups:control group, irradiation alone group, curcumin alone group, curcumin PDT group.HE staining and pathological examination were performed.Immunohistochemical study was conducted to detect the protein expression of the apoptosis inhibiting genes of Bcl-2.Results The proliferation inhibition of H8 cells was obvious after PDT when curcumin 5μmol/L with irradiation 100 J/cm2,and with dose dependent manner.Typical morphologic features of apoptosis appeared characterizedly by marked chromatin condensation, nuclear pyknosis and fragmentation, and the appearance of apoptotic bodies. The total apoptosis rate was higher in PDT group [(47.21 ± 4.11)%]than in control group(1.71 ±0.16) % (P<0.01).The mRNA expression of Bcl-2,P53 and survivin in H8 cells were suppressed significantly.HE staining showed remarkable subcutaneous necrosis in the PDT group.Immunohistochemistry showed remarkable down-regulation of protein expression of Bcl-2(P<0.01).Conclusions Curcumin-mediated photodynamic therapy has a significant killing effect on H8 cells in vivo and in vitro. Its antitumor effect might be related to induction of Tumor cell apoptosis and suppression of Bcl-2 mRNA and protein expression.
