AIM:To investigate the expressions of methylthioadenosine phosphorylase(MTAP)and ornithine decarboxylase(ODC)in human ovarian cancer.METHODS:60 fresh samples of ovarian cancer were collected. The expressions of MTAP mRNA and protein were analyzed by using RT-PCR and Western blotting, respectively.ODC activity was measured by high performance liquid chromatography.RESULTS:The expression levels of MTAP mRNA and protein in ovarian cancer were lower than those of control. In 9 of the 60 samples(15%)there were absence of detectable MTAP mRNA and protein. No significant relevance was found between the expression of MTAP and clinical pathologic features.ODC activity in ovarian cancer was(3.82?1.03)U,which was higher than that of normal ovarian tissues(1.38?0.59)U.ODC activity was related with tumor grade. In MTAP-deficiency ovarian cancer tissues ODC activity was significantly increased when compared with that of MTAP-expressing ovarian cancer samples.CONCLUSION:Down-regulated MTAP expression and up-regulated ODC activity really exist in ovarian cancer.Activation of ODC resulting from MTAP deletion may be one of the pathogenetic factors of ovarian cancer.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of bend-assisted laparoseopie fight bemicolectomy for right colon carcinoma in elderly obesity patients. Methods 20 obesity eases undergoing hand-assisted laparoscopic right bemicolectomy were retrospectively reviewed, and compared with 25 obesity cases with transabdominal right hemicolectomy in the same period. The safety, recovery, eradication and stress reaction were compared. Results In hand-assisted laparoscopic group, there were less bleeding loss, rapid recovery to normal temperature and gastrointestinal function, ont of bed activity, short-time hospitalization compared with transabdominal group(P <0.01). There were no differences in operative time, numbers of lymph nodes removed, postoperative complications and length of specimen between two gronps(P > 0.05). CRP, IL-6, adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) and cortisol were more significantly increased in two groups after operation than before operation (P < 0. 05) , and this increase was moreprominent in transabdominal group than in hand-assisted laparoacopic group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Hand-assis-ted laparoscopic right hemicolectomy is a safe and effective way for elderly obesity patients, especially in postoperative recovery and physical stress reaction.

Objective:The aim of this study was to explore the applicative effects of immune-enhanced enteral nutrition(Supportan) in preoperative preparation for patients with colorectal carcinoma.Methods:56 colorectal carcinoma patients with mid-severe malnutrition were randomly divided into two groups, experiment group and control group, each of 23.Experiment group was administrated with immune-enhanced enteral nutrition(Supportan).Control group was administrated with common enteral nutrition(Nutrison Fibre).Nutritional status, immunological function, inflammatory factor and the satisfaction of colon were observed. Results:After enteral nutrition, the plasma albumin,prealbumin,IgG,IgM,CD4+ T cells and the ratio of CD4+/ CD8+ were higher in experiment group than in control group and TNF-?,IL-6 and PGE2 were lower in experiment group than in control group.Conclusions:Immune-enhanced enteral nutrition(supportan) can improve nutritional status, strengthen immunological function, and decrease inflammatory reaction in the colorectal carcinoma patients with mid-severe malnutrition.

Objective To study the stability of micro-implant orthodontic anchorage(MA)with different pitch in the case of immediate loading.Method Employing 3D finite element analysis method, the stress and dis-placement distribution on the bone interface of MIA with different pitch(0.3 mm、0.5 mm、0.7 mm and 1.0 mm,respectively),which was 1.47 N loaded vertically in the major axis direction, were analyzed.Result The pitch affected the stress distribution significantly, because the maximum stress increased with the pitch decreasing and the impact of pitch on stress distribution on neck and central locations of MIA were different;to decrease the pitch could reduce the max displacement of the jaw,but the impact of pitch on displacement distribution of MIA was not significant.Condusions In the case of immediate loading.MIA with pitch 0.5 mm-0.7 mm is suggested to be selected as orthodontic anchorage in the clinic.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(01):-
The effect of anisodine on brain monoamine was studied in 30 rats. The brain monoamine levels of caudate nucleus, hippocampus, diencephalon, brain stem and cerebral cortex were estimated by fluoro-metric method in drug-treated rats and saline-treated controls. Only the NE level of the brain stem was significantly increased in anisodine-treated animals 48 hours after injection. There were no significant differences in the dopamine values between anisodine-treated rats and saline-treated controls, while the 5HT and 5HIAA levels were significantly increased in anisodine-treated animals. The relation of brain monoamines to learning and memory is discussed. The increased 5HT and 5HIAA levels caused by anisodine may play a role in the impairment of memory.

Objective To explore the apphcation of the integrated teaching method of PBL and TBL based on cases in pharmacology teaching.Method Ninety-two students majored in Pharmaceutical Preparations were selected into the control group, and 184 students majored in pharmacy were enrolled into the experimental group. The teaching effect was comprehensively evaluated by using the combination of theoretical examination and student feedback. Results In the experimental group, the average score of students in Pharmacology (73.68 ± 9.40) was significantly higher than that of the control group (67.34 ± 7.18),and the feedback of the students in the experimental group was significantly better than that in the control group. Conclusion Compared with the traditional teaching method, the integrated teaching method can significantly improve the students' theoretical examination results and students' learning interest.

The cardiovascular disease has become one of the important chronic health problems for humans. At present, the research on the traditional risk factors of cardiovascular disease has been studied from the relevance to the mechanism. In this paper, the recent progress of the traditional risk factors of CVD and the impact mechanism are reviewed in order to provide a basis for the prevention, treatment and nursing of cardiovascular diseases.

AIM: To observe the effects of Egr-1 gene knockout on the expression of inflammatory-related factors in pancreatic tissue in a mouse acute pancreatitis model.METHODS: The experimental pancreatitis was induced by high-dose of cearulein in wildtype mice and Egr-1 knockout mice. The pancreatitis indexes, such as serum amylase, pancreata edema, and myeloperoxidase(MPO) levels in pancreata and lungs were recorded. The mRNA levels of tissue factor(TF),plasminogen activator inhibitor(PAI-1),monocyte chemoattractant protein(MCP-1),Gro-1,IL-6 and ICAM-1 were measured by quantitative PCR.RESULTS: Contrary to wildtype mice, typical pancreatitis was not induced by high-dose cearulein in the Egr-1 knockout mice, not only markedly reduced edema in pancreata and lungs, but decreased MPO levels in lungs as well were found.Furthermore, the mRNA of TF,PAI,MCAP,ICAM-1 and IL-6 in pancreata were significantly decreased in Egr-1 knockout mice.CONCLUSION: The severity of pancreatitis and lung damage is ameliorated in Egr-1 knockout mice stimulated by high-dosage of cearulein, which was probably mediated by decreasing expression of inflammatory-related factors in pancreata, such as TF,PAI,MCP-1,ICAM-1 and IL-6.
