1.Effect of compound preparation of Astragalus mongholicus on subsets of lymphocytes in patients with myasthenia gravis
International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2008;29(9):787-788,791
Objective To investigate the effect of compound preparation of Astragalus mongho-licus on subsets of lymphocytes in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG), and to explore its regulatory mechanism. Methods 60 MG patients were randomly divided into test group (n=30, given compoundpreparation of Astragalus mongholicus for 12 wks) and control group (n=30, given prednisone tablets for 12 wks). Flow cytometry was applied to examining the distribution change of the subsets of lym-phocytes in patients before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the percentages of CD4+ T cells and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in both groups decreased compared with those before treatment. The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in test group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05).The percentage of CD8+ T cells in test group after treatment increased significantly (P<0.05) com-pared with that before treatment, but had no significant difference compared with that in control group(P>0. 05). Conclusion The result from the current study suggests that one of the mechanisms of the compound preparation of Astragalus monghoticus regulating immune response may be achieved through its modulating effect on the distribution of subsets of lymphoeytes and humoral immune func-tion.
2.Chemotherapy in osteosarcoma
China Oncology 2010;20(2):81-85
Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant tumor that develops in bone. Since chemotherapy was introduced into the multi-modality treatment regimen for high-grade osteosarcoma, its prognosis has been impressively improved; about two-thirds of all patients could achieve long-term survival. This review summarized the history of chemotherapy for osteosarcoma and current chemotherapeutic treatment strategies for classical osteosarcoma. The review also emphasized the necessity that the patients should be treated in specialized centers and prospective, multi-institutional trials are needed.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Most of the soil microorganisms are unculturable, which limits the exploitation and application of microbial resources.Metagenomics has great potential in the research of unculturable microorganisms in soil.Progress on the research of metagenomic DNA purification, metagenomic library construction and screening of soil microorganisms are reviewed briefly.

Journal of Environment and Health 1993;0(03):-
Objective To study the effect of sand storm on the activity of saliva lysozyme of middle school students and pupils. Methods 452 subjects aged 8-17 years, living in the areas where the sand storm happened frequently and infrequently, were selected with the stratified sampling and cluster sampling methods in May 2007.The activity of saliva lysozyme in saliva was measured by turbidimetric method. Results Compared with the areas where the sand storm happened frequently,in the infrequent areas, the activity of lysozyme of the boys in 12,14,16 ~17 age groups and of the girls in 12 and 14 age groups significantly decreased(P﹤0.05 or P﹤0.01).The activity of saliva lysozyme of the areas where the sand storm happened frequently was concerned with gender, age, time of daily outdoor activity during the sand storm. Conclusion Sand storm can cause the activity of saliva lysozyme decrease in the middle school students and pupils.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(04):-
To investigate the effects of brachial plexus block(BPB) and satellite ganglion block(SGB) on the blood flow of upper limb, 22 patients were randomly divided into two groups, and given BPB(group A,n=11) or SGB(group B,n=11) with 1% lidocaine 10 ml every other day for 5 times. Ulnar-radial artery blood flow was measured by using a TCD 30 minutes before and after the block. Finger pulse amplitude was measured by pulse oximeter 5,10,15,20,30 minutes after the block. The average increase in ulnar-radial artery blood flow was 13 cm/s in group A and 5 cm/s in group B. Finger pulse amplitude increased by (904?212)mm in group A and(354?142)mm in group B.A significant difference was observed between the two groups (P

To assess the roles of glutamate and its ionotropic receptor in processing noxious sensory input from dental pulp, glutamate NMDA receptor subtype antagonist,MK-801 and non-NMDA receptor subtype antagonist,CNQX were administrated separately into left lateral cerebral ventricle prior to exposing pulp cavity of left maxillary first molar tooth. The number of Fos-positive neurons in medulla oblongata was measured and compared with that of the group with simple exposure of dental after same survival time pulp.Fos protein expression was reduced dose-dependently by an administration of MK-801,but CNQX had little effect. The results showed that glutamate may be an excitatory transmitter of noxious dental pulp sensory input to neurons in medulla oblongata. In pain nodel of mechanical exposing dental pulp,NMDA receptor subtype has an important role in this process.

Journal of Environment and Health 1989;0(06):-
Objective To develop a new technique of air purification by plasma combined with photocatalysis. Methods Taken trichloroethylene as the air pollutant, the combined tests of the plasma unit and photocatalysis unit were conducted in different ways of combination (plasma and photocatalysis, photocatalysis and plasma) by adjusting the distance and setting some nets between them, then the purify efficiency was evaluated. Results The way of combination (plasma and photocatalysis) showed the best purify efficiency, when the distance was 32.5 cm, purify efficiency was more than 90%, steel net could increase purify efficiency by 6%, non-woven fabric by 9%. Conclusion The combined usage of plasma and photocatalysis, keeping a fit distance and setting a net of special material, may produce a considerable synergistic effect in air purification.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2008;20(3):193-197
Organics of the phthalocyanine category have very good nonlinear optical properties. The single-walled carbon nanotubes were modified by using the phenoxy phthalocyanine. Characterization analysis was made by means of the transmission electron microscope (TEM), ultraviolet visible absorptive spectra, fluorescent spectra and Raman spectra. Under the TEM, it was observed that the composite looked like sugarcoated haws. By comparing the ultraviolet visible absorptive spectra before and after absorption, it was disclosed that the spectral intensity and the intensity of the peaks in the fluorescent spectra dropped remarkably. This shows that the single-walled carbon nanotubes have absorbed a large number of phenoxy phthalocyanines. Raman analysis revealed that in the Raman spectra, the position of the main peaks of the single-walled carbon nanotubes after absorption moved in the direction of long waves. The analysis suggests that the movement of the Raman spectra results from the change in the state of the single-walled carbon nanotubes before and after absorption.
