Objective To study the application and influential factors of urine tissue polypeptide specific antigen(TPS) for early detection and clinical outcome in bladder transitional cell cancers (BTCC). Methods Urine TPS in 76 cases of newly diagnosed BTCC,42 cases of recurrent BTCC,26 cases of postoperative BTCC with normal urine cytology,28 cases of benign bladder diseases,42 normal controls were determined by ELISA.The TPS levels were compared with the cystoscopic results and pathological findings. The relationship between urinary TPS level and the development and prognosis of BTCC was analyzed. Results The urine TPS level was not related to age and sex.The TPS levels in newly diagnosed BTCC group, recurrent BTCC group, postoperative BTCC with normal urine cytology group, bladder benign diseases group and control group were (341?403)U/L,(212?166)U/L,(168?115)U/L,(135?48)U/L and (81?37)U/L,respectively.There was significant difference between each other (all P

In China, compared with other high risk population, drug users have higher rates of HIV infection, HCV infection and co-infection of HIV and HCV. These infections are major factors influencing this population’s health status. By describing and comparing the status of HIV infection, HCV infection, and HIV/HCV co-infection among drug users in China in terms of geographic distribution, demographic distribution, analyzing the interaction of the two viruses and the velocity of transmission and pathogenicity, this article provides recommendation for prevention and control of HIV and HCV.

In addition to modulation by a variety of structurally diverse agents that act allosteri-cally via distinct binding sites on the receptor complexes , there is another outstanding characteristic of the GABAA receptors: they are modulated by multiple endogenous agents. Well known examples include Ca2+ , adenosine triphosphate (ATP) , protein kinase A (PKA), protein kinase C(PKC), ty-ros ine kinase (TK) and calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMK II ). Intracellular modulation of GABAA receptor function may have profound effects on the control of neuronal excitation.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1998;0(S1):-
Molecular cloning of cDNAs coding for ligand-gated ion channel subunits makes it possible to study the pharmacology of recombinant receptors with defined subunit compositions. Many laboratories have used these techniques recently to study actions of agents that produce general anesthesia. Most of the volatile and intravenous anesthetics potentiate the function of GABAA receptor to different extent. Glycine, AMPA, kainate,NMDA, and 5-HT3 recepors are also the targets for many anesthetics. Subunit specific actions of some of the agents suggest that construction and testing of certain chimeric receptor subunits may be useful for defining the amino acid sequences responsible for anesthetic actions.

Objective: To study the apoptosis and the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in colorec-tal neoplasms and their relationship with neoplasm biological behavior. Methods: Apoptotic index (AI) and proliferative index (PI) were determined in paraffin-embedded tissues from 62 cases of colorectal carcinomas, 15 cases of colon adenomas and 10 cases of normal colon mucosa with immunohistochemistry S-P method and TUNEL technique. Results: The difference of PI and AI was significant in normal colon mucosa, colon adenomas and colorectal carcinomas (P

In order to study the variation of complex impedance and characteristic parameters on human normal and tumor lung tissue during the extracorporeal time, we established a real part-imaginary part chart of complex impedance on lung tissue which provided the basic theory and the reference data for research on elementary medicine and clinical diagnosis of lung cancer and meanwhile provided prior information for electrical impedance tomography (EIT) research. In the experiment carried out in our laboratory, when operation was finished, we kept the lung cancer tissue and normal tissue neatly separated into the cylindrical testing cavities and kept the temperature and humidity at expected values. Then the measurements of complex impedance property are performed at frequency from 1 000 Hz to 30 MHz using 4294A impedance analyzer of Aglient Company. With time changing, the results showed that there was a significant change occurring on the complex impedance of human normal and tumor lung tissue. However, the impedance of normal lung tissue is greater than that of tumor lung tissue. We consider that this change should be related to the change in extracellular fluid, intracellular fluid and cell membrane.

Journal of China Pharmaceutical University 2009;40(3):213-217
Aim: To prepare ropivacaine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes, and to study the physicochemical properties and drug release behavior in vitro. Methods: Ropivacaine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes were prepared by the multiple emulsion method. Single factor experiments were utilized to study the factors which affect the encapsulation efficiency of multivesicular liposomes. The formulation and pharmaceutical process were optimized by Box-Behnken experimental design, with the factors of encapsulation efficiency as the criteria. Three batches of the optimized multivesicular liposomes were prepared, and the encapsulation efficiency and in vitro release behavior were studied. Results: The particle size of the optimized multivesicular liposomes was uniform and 85% of them were well distributed in the range of 7-30 μm. The encapsulation efficiency was up to 90% when the ratios of lipid to drug, phospholipids to cholesterol and the amount of triolein was 1. 328:1(w/w) ,1.5: 1(w/ w) and 6 mmol/L, respectively. The release profile in vitro fitted to a first-order kinetics with the period of release up to 48 h in PBS buffer under 37 ℃. Conclusion: Ropivacaine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes showed high encapsulation efficiency and significant sustained-release feature.

OBJECTIVETo compare the differences of clinical effects in female patients with obesity and hyperlipidemia of yang deficiency of spleen and kidney syndrome between warm acupuncture combined with auricular acupuncture and simple warm acupuncture.
METHODSOne hundred and thirty patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 65 cases in each one. In the control group, acupuncture was used at Pishu (BL 20), Zhongwan(CV 12), Shenshu(BL 23), Zhongji(CV 3), Guanyuan(CV 4), Mingmen(GV 4), Taibai(SP 3), Fenglong(ST 40), etc.; warm acupuncture was applied at Pishu(BL 20), Zhongwan(CV 12), Shenshu(BL 23) and Zhongji(CV 3); the treatment was required once every two days and for 3 months continuously. In the observation group, based on the treatment in the control group, thumbtack intradermal needles were embedded at auricular points, including pi(CO13), shen(CO10), pangguang(CO9), sanjiao(CO17), neifenmi(CO18), neishengzhiqi(TF2), etc. Obesity indices [body mass(W), obesity degree(A), body mass index(BMI), body fat percentage(F%)] blood lipid indices [serum total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein(HDL-C)] and clinical efficacy were observed before and after treatment in the two groups. Results After treatment in the two groups, the obesity indices of W, A, BMI, F% and the blood lipid levels of TC, TG, LDL-C were obviously decreased compared with those before treatment (all P<0. 01) and the HDL-C levels were apparently increased than those before treatment (both P<0. 01). After treatment, the improvement of TC and HDL-C in the observation group was superior to that in the control group (both P<0. 01). The difference was not statistically significant in the aspect of improving every obesity index between two groups (all P>. 05). The comprehensive total effective rate of the observation group was 95.4% (62/65), which was better than 84. 6% (55/65) of the control group (P<0. 001).
CONCLUSIONWarm acupuncture combined with auricular acupuncture and simple warm acupuncture can both benignly adjust abnormal lipid metabolism of obesity patients with hyperlipidemia, and warm acupuncture combined with auricular acupuncture are superior to simple warm acupuncture treatment on antiobesity action and improving the TC and HDL-C levels.
