1.The Effect of Yinxingdamo Injection on Changes of Serum NSE of Patients with Moderate Brain Injury

Objective To observe the effects of different doses of Yinxingdamo injection on changes of nerve-specific enolase (NSE) of patients with medium-sized brain injury and discusse the mechanism of Yinxingdamo injection in the treatment of brain injury. Methods The contents of serum NSE in 33 cases of craniocerebral injury were dectected by ELISA test and the results were analyzed. Results NSE levels in patients with brain injury were significantly higher than normal people (p <0.05). Yinxingdamo injection can reduce the content of NSE for brain injury patients. This reduction related with the dosage of the medicine, showing the higher the dosage is used, the greater reduction may be.Conclusion Yinxingdamo injection can reduce NSE in serum of patients with brain injury, and this may be the mechanism of Yinxingdamo injection in treating craniocerebral injury.
2.Studies on tissue culture and rapid propagation technique of Iphigenia indica

Object To establish a tissue culture and rapid propagation system for the medicinal plant Iphigenia indica Kunth. Methods Clusters of seedlings and protocorms and induction were studied on MS media with different parts of the plant, such as corms, stems, leaves and root tips as explants. Results The proper media for protocorm inducing, propagation and rooting were found in this paper, rapid propagation system of I. indica was established and the plant could put in large scale production. Conclusion Sprout can be successfully induced from corm and stem on MS media. MS+6-BA 2 mg/L+NAA 0.5 mg/L can induce both sprout and protocorm, and fit for large scale production. 1/2 MS+IBA 0.5 mg/L+NAA 0.2 mg/L is good for rooting.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs which are essential for posttranscriptional gene regulation and have important roles in physiology and pathology. The researches on function of miRNA will be a focus in the future. Several animal models have been built by transgenic technology, making important contributions to our understanding of gene function at the whole scale. Recently, the number of transgenic animal models for microRNAs and construction strategies have been increasing and diversifying. Some roles of miRNA in tumor and cardiovascular disease have been revealed by transgenic animals. Transgenic animals are becoming a kind of powerful tool in microRNA researches.
4.Legal and Ethical Reflection on the Management of Open-loop Psychiatric Ward

The establishment of open-loop psychiatric ward is an innovation for mental disease treatment,while new legal and ethical issues become evident.For instance,psychiatric patients with no guardians or agents can not normally sign the informed consent form at hospitalization.It is extremely difficult to make a definite diagnosis in some cases.Informed consent form is refused by certain guardians due to the misunderstanding of psychiatric diseases.This paper explores those legal and ethical issues arising in the medical treatment in open-loop psychiatric ward,and comes up with relevant countermeasures.
5.Expression and location of fos-protein and enkephalin in central nervous system following enflurane anesthesia

Objective To investigate the expression and co-existence of fos-protein and enkephalin in CNS following enflurane anesthesia. Methods Twelve adult SD rats of both sexes weighing 195-223g were divided randomly into two equal groups: control group and enflurane group: The animals in enflurane group breathed 2% enflurane for 2h. The animals in control group underwent the same experimental steps except enflurane inhalation. Before experiment the animals were kept in a quiet place for 24h and strong light was avoided. After enflurane inhalation, chest was opened and 100 ml of normal saline was infused via left ventricle to wash Out blood from whole body, then followed by infusion of 4% polymerized formaldehyde 0.1mol/L PB 500 ml for fixation of tissue. 90 mm later the whole brain and spinal cord were harvested for determination of fos-protein and enkephalin expression and their location using double-labelled immunohistochemical technique. Results The control group showed more ELI(enkephalin like immunoactivity) neurons, less FLI(fos like immuneactivity) neurons and FLI/ELI(fos and enkephalin like immunoactivity) neurons were very rare. The enflurane group showed more FLI, ELI and FLI/ELI neurons. They were mainly distributed in frontal-cortex, lateral septal nucleus, basolateral amygdaloid nucleus, hippocampus CA1, paraventricular nucleus, ventral posterolateral nucleus, habenular nucleus, ventromedial hypothalamus nucleus, supraoptic nucleus, substantia nigra nucleus, interpeduncular nucleus, periaqueductal gray and dorsal horn. 7.Application of ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve block technique in standardized training for resi-dent doctors

Mastering peripheral nerve block technique is a basic requirement for residents stan-dardization training. Ultrasound-guided nerve block has broken through the limitation of traditional blind operation, promoted the quality and safety of anesthesia, and improved the quality of the peripheral nerve block teaching. However, the safety of ultrasound-guided nerve block technique must be based on the speci-fication training. In the teaching experience, we have used theoretical study, simulation training and clinical practice to explore a new method for upgrading the quality of resident doctor training.

9.Role of liver cancer stem cells in the metastasis and recurrence of liver cancer

Liver cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide and the third leading cause of cancer death.Partial hepatectomy and liver transplantation are the most effective therapies.However, postoperative tumor metastasis and recurrence are the main obstacles in the long-term survival.Liver cancer stem cells (LCSCs) within cancer tissues are associated with tumor occurrence, proliferation and tolerance to current therapy and are regarded as the major root of metastasis and recurrence.Eradication of LCSCs is a novel therapy of liver cancer.In this review, surface markers of LCSCs and mechanisms of pro-metastasis and recurrence, circulating LCSCs,microenvironment of LCSCs and their roles in the metastasis and relapse are summarized.

Objective] To explore the clinical experience of Ma Weiming in the treatment of insomnia.[Method] By following the teacher clinic, the author summarizes chief physician Ma Weiming’s academic experience of treatment of insomnia with classical prescriptions. [Results] In Ma Weiming's opinion, everything harasses the heart, mind vacillation, inducing liver ’s function of storing soul abnormal, the spirit restless is due to insomnia with much dream. So teacher Ma pays attention to “dream diagnosis”.The treatment of insomnia must be combined with heart and liver, making the mind quiet and the liver comfortable. He likes using flowers to balance Qi. In Ma Weiming's opinion, collaterals are invaded by prolonged illness, due to blood stasis. The treatment should use insect drugs to dispell wind and remove obstruction in the meridians, purifying orifices, promoting sleep. [Conclusion] According to the etiology of insomnia to distinguish among different dreams, teacher Ma uses classical prescriptions and combines with his own unique clinical experience on treating insomnia, which has significant effect and worth generalizing.
