3.Application and evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging in the multidisciplinary treatment of breast cancer
China Oncology 2013;(8):613-617
It has been shown that MR imaging of breast is superior to conventional mammography and ultrasonography on early diagnosis and cancer staging on breast cancer due to MRI’s high soft-tissue contrast and no radiation. The concept of multidisciplinary treatment of breast cancer has been increasingly accepted in clinical practice of breast cancer care. Investigation of breast MRI on cancer staging, selecting conservative therapy, detecting the primary malignant of patients presenting as axillary metastases, evaluating residual disease after neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC), predicting response in the early phase of treatment as well as monitoring recurrence during follow-up has been carried out along with its board clinical application. The advantages of breast MRI in mapping the disease accurately provide measures to select appropriate use of variable treatments.
4.Biomarkers of cerebral small vessel disease
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2017;25(3):251-257
Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) refers to a group of pathological processes caused by various causes that affect the microarteries, small arteries, venules and capillaries in brain tissue.Inflammation and endothelial dysfunction may play an important role in mechanism of leading to CSVD-related changes. The research in related fields is expected to become an important means of in-depth understanding of CSVD.The driving factors of brain dysfunction caused by CSVD and the relative role of vascular lesions and primary neurodegenerative changes in the process of CSVD remain unclear. The examinations reflecting cerebrospinal fluid components of the central nervous system degenerative lesions and vascular lesion process can provide important information. The related biochemical changes may become an early identification indicator of CSVD,at the same time it can enhance the understanding of its characteristic mechanism. In addition,CSVD specific biomarkers can also play an important role in monitoring the therapeutic effects.
5.Cerebral small vessel disease and vascular cognitive impairment: focus on neuroimaging
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2017;25(3):244-250
Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is an important cause of functional incapacitation, disability, and cognitive impairment in the elderly.Subcortical CSVD can lead to lacunar infarcts and progressive white matter lesions.CSVD cognitive impairment is an important subtype of vascular cognitive impairment (VCI).The dementia caused by it accounts for about 36%-67% of vascular dementia. With the development of technology, neuroimaging and its related markers has become a powerful tool for the diagnosis of CSVD and cognitive impairment. The clues of the CSVD pathogenesis can also be found in the field of brain cognition.STandards for ReportIng Vascular changes on nEuroimaging (STRIVE) has established the neuroimaging markers of 6 critical damages, including recent small subcortical infarcts, lacunar foci that are assumed to be the origin of blood vessels, white matter hyperintensities that are assumed to be the origin of blood vessels, perivascular spaces, cerebral microbleeds, and brain atrophy. This article reviews the correlation between VCI caused by CSVD and imaging features.
6.Low-temperature radiofrequency technology treatment of spontaneous tonsillar hemorrhage: a case report.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(20):1616-1617
Patient, 30-year-old, male, was admitted to our hospital because of discontinuously spit fresh blood without any inducing factors for three days. In the course, the patient suffered mild dry sensation of pharyngeal, poor spirit condition, fatigue, poor sleep, poor appetite and was with black stool 2 times. Physical examination: T36. 6°C, R 21/min, P98/min, BP135/90 mmHg (1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa). Bilateral tonsils were III hypertrophy and with scar shape surfaces. The left tonsil's surface had longitudinal small blood vessels markedly dilated. His oropharynx, laryngopharynx and laryngeal did not be find any obvious bleeding sites. Laboratory findings: WBC 13.82 x 10(9)/L, N 0.8084, L 0.1632, Hb 81.00 g/L, HCT 25.20; PT 9.60 s, APTT 25.50 s, TT 15.80 s, FIB 1.900 g/L. After 3 hours of admission, the patient spit out fresh blood again, checked the body to see:the left peri-tonsil with fresh blood and found a slowly bleeding site at the 1/3 junction of the middle lower part of left tonsil's rear surface, the size was about 0.5 cm x 0.6 cm. We finally diagnosed spontaneous tonsillar hemorrhage and successfully managed with low-temperature radiofrequency technology.
