Objective To investigate the changes in the proportion of regulatory T (Treg) cells and in the levels of cytokines secreted by these cells in the peripheral blood in the patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Methods The enrolled subjects consisted of 30 CML patients who were newly diagnosed , 20 CML patients who were under the effective treatment of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BCR-ABL 210 transcript ratio is below 10%) and 20 healthy donors whose age and sex were matched .Flow cytometry was used to detect CD4+CD25 high CD127 low /-Treg cells and CD4+ T cells. The enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine the plasma concentra -tions of interleukin-10(IL-10), transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) and IL-35.Results The proportions of Treg cells in CD4+ T cells were similar among the three groups .As concerns the three kinds of Treg-associated cy-tokines, there were no significant differences in the plasma concentrations of IL -10 among the three groups.Howev-er, compared with the treatment group and the control group , the plasma concentrations of TGF -β1 and IL-35 in the newly diagnosed patients significantly increased (P <0.001), with no significant difference between the treat -ment group and the control group. Conclusion Though the proportion of Treg cells did not significantly change in the newly diagnosed patients, the plasma concentrations of TGF-β1 and IL-35 indeed significantly enhanced , sug-gesting the dysfunction of Treg cells in the newly diagnosed patients might be associated with the progression of dis -ease.Effective treatment of tyrosine kinase inhibitors could down -regulate the plasma levels of these cytokines to baseline, suggesting that monitoring these cytokines might evaluate the efficacy of therapy .

An efficient method for the analysis of cefotaxime and its metabolite desacetylcefotaxime residues in eggs was developed based on high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).The samples were homogenized and extracted with acetonitrile/water (9∶1, V/V) solution. The fat was removed by hexane, and the other impurities were removed with C18 sorbent. The separation of cefotaxime and desacetylcefotaxime was performed on an Agilent Eclipse Plus C18 column (100 mm × 2.1 mm, 3.5 μm) using a mobile phase of 0.2% formic acid(A)-acetonitrile(B) by gradient elution. The analytes were detected by MS/MS in positive electrospray ionization mode (ESI+) and multiple reaction monitoring (MRM), quantitated by matrix-matched extemal standard method. Results showed that the calibration curves had a good linearity in the range of 1.0-143 μg/L (cefotaxime) and 1.0-120 μg/L (desacetylcefotaxime), respectively, with correlation coefficient R.2>0.999.Limits of detection (LOD, S/N=3) for cefotaxime and desacetylcefotaxime were 0.07 and 0.14 μg/kg, and limits of quantitation (LOQ, S/N=10) for cefotaxime and desacetylcefotaxime were 0.23 and 0.99 μg/kg, respectively. At three spiked concentration levels, the recoveries of cefotaxime and desacetylcefotaxime ranged from 83.1% to 103.0% and 88.2% to 101.0%, respectively, both with RSDs (n=6) less than 6.2%.The results demonstrated that the method was simple, quick, sensitive and reliable, and suitable for determination of cefotaxime and desacetylcefotaxime residues in eggs.
4.Effects of Exercise on Cancer-related Fatigue and Quality of Life in Prostate Cancer Patients Undergoing Androgen Deprivation Therapy: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials.
Chinese Medical Sciences Journal 2017;32(1):13-21
Objective To gain insight on how exercise affects the outcomes of prostate cancer patients treated with androgen deprivation therapy, specifically cancer-related fatigue (CRF) and quality of life (QoL).Methods Systematic searches for randomized clinical trials (RCTs) evaluating the effects of exercise on CRF and QoL of prostate cancer patients receiving androgen deprivation therapy were carried out to identify the eligible studies from EMBASE, PubMed and Cochrane library. Related data were extracted from eligible studies and then subjected to Reviewer Manage 5.3 for analysis. Standardized mean differences (SMD) and its 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. Results In all, 10 RCTs involving 841 prostate cancer patients (448 of whom exercised and 393 did not) were included in this study. With respect to CRF, there was good consistency among different studies, and it was remarkably reduced in the exercise group (SMD=-0.32, 95% CI: -0.45 to -0.18, P<0.00001, n=784). In regards to QoL, there was also good consistency among different studies, and it was also improved significantly in the exercise group (SMD=0.21, 95% CI: 0.08 to 0.34, P=0.002, n=841).Conclusion Exercise both reduced CRF and improved QoL in prostate cancer patients receiving androgen deprivation therapy.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2015;33(5):488-491
OBJECTIVEThe aim of this study was to compare the mandibular position when speaking with the intercuspal position and to check the stability of phonetics when determining the horizontal jaw relation in healthy adults.
METHODSA total of 19 healthy volunteers were recruited. Seven Chinese letters, namely, /xi/, /er/, /yi/, /ci/, /mi/, /ni/, and /ri/, were chosen in the test. O-bite was used to record the mandibular position when speaking these letters. A full-adjusted articulator was used to find the mandibular position during speech, and the mandibular position was measured using a vernier caliper. The mandibular position during speech with intercuspal position was compared in both anterior-posterior and left-right directions of the horizontal plane. Multi-factor analysis of variance was conducted for the statistical analysis of the effect of objects and letters on the mandibular position.
RESULTS1) The mandibular position was in front of the intercuspal occlusion position when speaking all seven letters, and almost no deviation was observed in the left and right directions (the mandibular position value of 82% was in the range of 0.5 mm). 2) Different objects had different mandibular positions during speech, whereas different letters did not. The distance between the centric relation position and the intercuspal position had a positive correlation with the range of the mandibular position during speech.
CONCLUSIONThe mandibular position was in front of the intercuspal position when speaking all seven words in the test. In the same object, the mandibular position was stable during speech.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2022;43(10):1565-1569
Objective:
To investigate the refractive status of children and adolescents aged 4-18 years in Chengdu, and to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of refractive parameters.
Methods:
A cross sectional survey was conducted among 82 024 children and adolescents aged 4-18 years in Gaoxin District of Chengdu from August to September 2021. The prevalence of screening myopia, low vision rate, high myopia rate, refractive status and axial development were analyzed.
Results:
The prevalence of screening myopia in students aged 4-18 years was 40.42%(33 158/82 024). Low myopia was 24.51%(20 108/82 024), moderate myopia was 13.05%(10 703/82 024) and high myopia was 2.86%(2 347/82 024). The prevalence of screening myopia was 1.81% (233/12 848) in kindergarten, 34.44%(17 095/49 644) in primary school, 79.73%(9 738/12 214) in junior high school and 83.25% (6 092/7 318) in senior high school. The rate of visual impairment increased by year from the age of 4, and the rate of myopia increased most rapidly from 6 to 15 years old, the prevalenct of high myopia was compared between adjacent age groups: there were statistical differences between 9-15 years old were more likely to be nearsighted than boys( P <0.035 7). Significant differences in screening myopia between 5- and 7-17 year old groups, and in boys and girls. The median total diopter was 0.40 D at the age of 4 and developed to -2.90 D at the age of 18 . The diopter of girls aged 8-15 years was higher than that of boys, and there was statistical significance( Z=-2.53, -4.09, -5.67, -8.64, -5.56, -4.97, -2.52, -2.14, P <0.05). The axial length gradually increased with age, with the mean value of (22.31±0.59) mm at 4 years old and (24.91±1.00) mm at 18 years old. The mean corneal curvature did not change with age (43.19±1.47)D.
Conclusion
6-15 years old is a especially critical period for myopia development. More efforts need to be taken to decrease the prevalence of myopia before 6 years old. Prevention of the development of high myopia should start before the age of 10. The prevalence of myopia in girls is higher than that in boys, more prevention and control of myopia should focus on girls.
