OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of the correlation between the use density of carbapenems and the bacterial drug-resistance.METHODS:The data including the use density of carbapenems in the ICU ward of a hospital,the categories of the related pathogenic bacteria and monitoring results on drug resistances in 5 consecutive years were collected for an analysis of the quantitative change in a corresponding stage.RESULTS:Non-fermentative Gram-negative bacilli(NFGNB) were prone resistant to carbapenems and the resistant rate fluctuated in relation to the use density of carbapenems.The Enterobacter had low resistance to carbapenems and was independent of the use density of carbapenems.CONCLUSION:The use density of carbapenems has a positive correlation with the resistance of NFGNB.Reasonable drug use density may slow down or reduce bacterial drug-resistance.

Gene expressions of interleukin-6 receptor subunit gp130 and gp80 were investigated by competitive RT-PCR in the rat model of osteoporosis. A significant increase in expressions of gp130 and gp80 was found in bone marrow of osteoporotic rat, this change may be a possible mechanism in osteoporosis due to loss of estrogen.

Objective: To assess the effect of taurine supplementation on behavior of young rats exposed to low-level lead. Methods: Wistar dam rats were randomly divided into three lead+Tau(0.5%, 1.0% ,1.5%)groups, lead group and control group.Dams of three lead+Tau groups were fed with food containing 0.5%,1.0%,1.5% taurine respectively from d 9 of gestation. Lead+Tau groups and lead group dams were given water containing 0.14% PbAc 2 ad lib. from d 16 of gestation to weaning of the off spring on d 25 post partum. The pups continued taking same food and water. The neurobehavioral function of pups was tested. Results: (1) Taurine supplementation could significantly decrease accumulation of lead in the brain of young rats. (2)Taurine supplementation was able to prevent Pb-induced retardation on behavioral development, and also learning and memory damage in young rats.(3) In all selected six brain regions, the content of NA and DA was decreased in lead group compared with control group. The content of NA in all six brain regions and DA in pituitarium, cerebellum and cortex in 1.0% taurine supplementation group could be restored to normal. The content of ACh in hippocampus and cortex was decreased in Lead compared to Cont group, and which could be corrected by Tau supplementation. Conclusion: The results suggest that taurine has protective function against Pb-induced toxicity and can protect the nervous system against Pb-induced damage in the development of young rats.

Aim To study the change of the expression of the gp80 and gp130 subunits of the IL- 6 receptor (IL- 6R)in the osteoporotic bone marrow, to explore the role of IL- 6 receptor system in the osteoporosis resulted from the loss of estrogen.Methods Twenty female 12- week old SD rats [weight (200± 20) g] were randomly divided into 2 groups: the osteoporosis model group (10 rats),the control group (10 rats).Respectively in the 0th ,12th week after ovariectomy to analyze the levels of gp80 and gp130.Results In the 0th,12th week after ovariectomy,the level of gp130 (pg/μ g total RNA): the control group's level had no significant change (80± 3 vs 82± 4,t=0.85,P >0.05), while the osteoporosis group's level became significant higher (80± 3 vs 290± 40,t=6.46,P< 0.01).In the 0th ,12th week after ovariectomy, the level of gp80(pg/μ g total RNA): the control group's level had no significant change (85.4± 2.7 vs 85.6± 2.8,t=0.35,P >0.05), while the osteoporosis group's level became significant higher (85.4± 2.7 vs 210± 40,t=6.32,P< 0.01).Conclusion There was a significant increase of the expressions of gp130 and gp80 in the bone marrow of osteoporotic rat.

OBJECTIVE:To probe into the status quo of the drug resistance and the medication of pseudomonas aeruginosa so as to provide references for the clinic in the controlling of pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.METHODS:The susceptive rates of the susceptibility test performed on 148 pseudomonas areuginosa infection cases confirmed in 2004 in our hospital were collected statistically and a whole range tracking statistics were conducted on the use of antibacterials.RESULTS:Pseudomonas aeruginosa had a strong drug resistance,which had a different degree of drug resistance to all antibacterials;Antibiotics like piperacillin/tazobactam,ceftazidime and carbopenem took the lead in terms of their susceptive rates,which stood at 75.68%,73.65%and 70.27%,respectively;The cross resistances of the third generation cephalosporins and the compound agents of the third generation cephalosporins and their enzyme inhibitor were serious and which kept increasing rapidly;The adoption rates for the susceptive kinds were less than 50%before the susceptibility test.CONCLUSION:An effective way to control pseudomonas aeruginosa infection is to conduct strain culture and isolation and perform susceptibility test as early as possible.

OBJECTIVE:To probe into the status quo,characteristics and influencing factors of ADR cases in our city. METHODS:In the retrospective statistical analysis study,a total of 752 ADR cases reported in Panzhihua Municipal ADR Monitoring Center in 2008 were analyzed and evaluated in respect of patients' age and sex,route of administration,drug varieties,organs and system involved and common countermeasures for ADR,etc. RESULTS:Of the total 752 ADR cases,323 cases of patients aged more than 60 showed the highest proportion(42.95%); 401 cases(53.32%) were caused by intravenous route; 810 kinds of drugs were used,of which antibiotics caused ADR in 317 cases (39.14%); lesions of skin and its appendants were the most common presentations of the ADR,which appeared in 314 cases(36.38%). CONCLUSION:The incidence of ADR relates to the patients' age,routed of administration and frequency of clinical drug use,which should be emphasized in the clinic.

Objective To evaluate the value of echocardiography method for diagnosis of the downward displacement of the posterior leaflet of tricuspid valve with apical right heart two chamber view (AP-RH-2CV). Methods Rotating the probe clockwise from apical four chamber view(AP-4CV) to AP-RH-2CV at the septial and posterior leaflet of tricuspid valve, the shape, moving and position of the posterior leaflet of the tricuspid valve were observed by displaying the degree of downward displacement of the septial and posterior leaflet of tricuspid valve. The location of the orifice of tricuspid regurgitation was examined by color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI). Results In 15 patients with Ebstein's anomaly from the AP-RH-2CV, the downward displacement of posterior leaflet of tricuspid valve was clearly observed at the AP-RH-2CV. These results of echocardiography were confirmed by surgery except one ease missing out mild downward displacement of the anterior leaflet of tricuspid valve. Moreover, all 15 patients showed the obvious downward displacement of the location of the orifice of tricuspid regurgitation from AP-RH-2CV by CDFI. Conclusions The AP-RH-2CV is an ideal view in diagnosis of the downward displacement of the posterior leaflet of tricuspid valve by echocardiography. The downward displacement of the location of the orifice of tricuspid regurgitation is a critical character for diagnosis of the downward displacement of the posterior leaflet of tricuspid valve by CDFI.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical features of tumors primarily in the pterygopalatine fossa, and the efficiency of surgical management for these lesions. METHODS The clinical data of 7 cases with tumors primarily in the pterygopalatine fossa were retrospectively studied. Three of them were primary diseases, i.e. fibrous histiocytoma, neurofibroma and cholesteatoma. The other 4 cases were secondary tumors mainly located in pterygopalatine fossa. There were 1 case with epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma, 1 case with adenoid cystic carcinoma , 1 case with recurrent inverted nasal papilloma, 1 case with recurrent malignant fibrous histiocytoma. Approaches to tumors in pterygopalatine fossa lesions included lateral rhinotomy, and transnasal or transantrum approaches under the nasal endoscope. RESULTS The patient suffered from adenoid cystic carcinoma developed local recurrence 4 months after operation, and extended resection of the recurrent tumor with laser was performed again. No further recurrence was found after following-up for 3 years. Neither local recurrence nor regional metastasis was found in the remaining 6 cases with a follow-up period of 2 to 4 years. The main complication was oronasal fistula. CONCLUSION CT scan or MRI is the main method to the early diagnosis of pterygopalatine fossa tumors. Lateral rhinotomy, endoscopic trasnnasal or transantrum approaches are feasible procedures to resect the tumors.

Objective To explore the association of CD22 gene T＞A locus (SNPrs2267574) with the development of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and SLE phenotypes in Southern Chinese Han people.Methods Two hundreds fifteen cases and 216 normal controls were enrolled with the aim of case-control design,and the genotype was determined by PCR-RFLP.We calculated X2 and ORs for association study.Results In CD22 gene T＞A locus,there was significant difference of genotypes distribution between cases and controls (X2=6.086,P＜0.05).The frequency of AT genotype was higher in cases than in controls (OR=1.68,95%CI:1.08～2.60,P=0.021 ),and A allele had a higher proportion in cases (OR=1.58,95%CI:1.09～2.29,P=0.015).Meanwhile,the frequency of A allele in patients with positive anti-SSA was higher than in patients with negative anti-SSA (OR=3.69,95%CI:2.08～6.52,P＜0.01 ).Conclusion In Southern Chinese Han population,CD22 gene T＞A locus is associated with the development of SLE and the A allele has positive association with anti-SSA.

The aim of this study was to develop a new method of epileptic prediction using nonlinear dynamic theory. When rat was falling sickness, its EEG was researched by using approximate entropy and correlation dimension. The results showed the approximate entropy and correlation dimension during epileptic seizure are obviously lower than those before seizure and after seizure. The span of time before seizure is a special phase. Before the seizure symptom appeared, the complexity of EEG had begun declining. Thus, the outbreak of epilepsy could be predicted in short time using nonlinear dynamic methods.
