The severity of carotid atherosclerosis and the levels of serum matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS)increase with the severity of apnea,and that MMP-9 plays an important role in the progression of carotid atherosclerosis.This article reviews the relationship between carotid atherosclerosis and serum MMP-9 so as to analyze the possible mechanism of developing carotid atherosclerosis in patients with OSAS.

Objective To study the change law between deficiency of kidney-Yang and stagnation of blood, and supply a study evidence for the therapy method of invigorate the kidney and promoting blood flow. Method 37 Wistar rats which were made of the model of deficiency of kidney-Yang, were randomly divided into three groups:control group, model group and treatment group. Changes including appearance, general objective sign, organ weight, microcirculation and blood rheology were recorded. Result Phenomenons, including rare fur, depression, lazy, duck stools and purpl dim in micrangium micrangium, occurred in model group. The weight of adrenal body and seminal vesicle and the contents of serum andrusol in model group were lower than those in control group. And in model group, significant increasing TC and LDL-C and decreasing HCL-C were observed. Conclusion Deficiency of kidney-Yang is associated with stagnation of blood, and the time delay of stagnation of blood can lead deficiency of kidney-Yang.

Objective To understand the expression of heat shock protein(HSP70) mRNA induced by avermectins in the hepatic tissue of rats.Methods Wistar rats aged 6 weeks were randomly divided into 4 groups,12 in each including 6 male and 6 female.The rats in the experimental groups were treated with avermectins by gavage once a day at the doses of 2.5,1.25 and 0.625 mg/kg respectively for 14 consecutive days,one group was the negative control.The general state was concerned and after the exposure,the content of total protein(TP) in the serum was determined,the hepatic tissue was sampled to examine the expression of HSP70 mRNA by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).Results The content of TP in the serum in the 2.5 mg/kg group was lower than that in the control group(P

[Objective] To evaluate the results of surgical treatment of developmental dislocation of the hip (DDH) in children aged from 12 to 18 months. [Methods]A total of 59 patients (72 hips with developmental dislocation) were treated surgically from 2004 to 2006.In them, 53 hips received open reduction and Salter innominate osteotomy, 19 hips received open reduction and Pemberton transiliac osteotomy.[Results]All patients had been followed up for 50 months in average after operation. According to the modified McKay clinical criteria,Severin radiographic classification and Salter AVN diagnostic criteria,the excellent to good rate for Severin classification and modified McKay criteria were 94.4%、93% respectively.Avascular necrosis of the femoral head occured in 2 hips(2.8%).[Conclusion]Surgical treatment without preoperative traction is feasible for the management of DDH in children aged from 12 to 18 months.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of composite resin on padding the abrasion wear pits of molar occlusal surface.Methods To select 20 patients with a total of 68 teeth which all haven't pulpitis symptoms and their posterior occlusal have wear pits and have enough space for filling.Adhensives and corresponding composite resins produced by 3MESPE Company were used to fill the pits.Results After 1-year follow-up,among 68 teeth,55 are successful,11 effective,2 failed,the total effective rate was 97.06％.Conclusion The composite resins made by 3M are good quality materials which are suitable for filling posterior occlusal wear pits.

This study is to investigate the effects of ceramide on GSTA1 expression in Caco-2 cells. After being exposed to ceramide for a fixed time, GSTA1 protein expression was detected by Western blotting analysis; GSTA1 mRNA expression was detected by real time PCR; dual luciferase assay was used to analyze GSTA1 transcriptional activity and GSTA1 activity was determined toward androstanedione (AD) as substrate. The data showed that ceramide can significantly induce the expression of protein and GSTA1 mRNA, and increase transcriptional activity and enzyme activity of GSTA1. The results demonstrated that ceramide may increase resistance to chemotherapeutics in Caco-2 cells by up-regulating the expression of GSTA1.

Objective To study the gastrointestinal tract damage induced by acid detergent toilet cleaner and treatment methods.Method Acute toxicity of toilet cleaner was studied using big white rabbits.Subacute and chronic toxicity and treatment methods were studied by hospital patients.Results After falling 15 ml toilet cleaner into stomach through mouth in 2 rabbits,both died of gastric perforation.After one patient misapplied with 50 ml to//et cleaner,gastric corrosive ulcer was found by gastroscopy after treatment 7 d,gastric constrictive inflammation was found by upper gastrointestinal barium meal at 14 d after treatment,and gastric scarring was found by gastroscopy after treatment 51 d.Conchusions Acid detergent toilet cleaner mainly harm gastric mucosa,gastric perforation is easily induced in acute stage,gastric ulcer induced in subacute stage,and scarring induced in chronic stage.Taking orally pure milk,inhibiting gasuic acid secretion and haemostasis are mainly treatment methods.Examination of gastroscopy and upper gastrintesinal barium meal may be carried out in subaeute and chronic stages.

Objective To explore the application of experienced teaching method in the teaching of Fundamentals of Nursing.Methods The feasibility and validity of experienced teaching method was evaluated by expounding the utilization and result of role-play method and practice experienced method.Results The experienced teaching method received good result and proved appropriate in the teaching of Fundamentals of Nursing.Conclusion The experienced teaching method overcame the disadvantages of mere traditional teaching method and aimed at the improvement of quality and ability of students.It contributed to developing the critical thinking ability and other abilities of students.

Background and purpose:Proteasome inhibitors constitute a novel class of antitumor agents that has a complex mechanism of action.Previous studies have confirmed that proteasome inhibitor MG-132 can significantly inhibit Hep-2 cell growth and induce cell apoptosis in a manner that is dependent on dosage and time.But it also induced p-STAT3 protein expression.The aim of this study was to explore whether the STAT3 gene can,by transfecting short hair pin RNA(shRNA),enhance the anti-tumor effect of MG-132 on human laryngeal carcinoma cells.Methods:Hep-2 cells were plated into 96-well and 6-well plates and incubated overnight.Then,they were treated with MG-132 alone and combined with pshSTAT3.Their cell growth was detected by MTT assay,and apoptosis was examined with flow cytometry.The protein expression of p-STAT3 was detected by Western blotting.Results:MTT assay showed that a combined group inhibited the proliferation of Hep-2 cells compared to the MG-132 group and pshSTAT3 group(P＜0.01).Flow cytometry showed that apoptosis of the combined group was significantly higher than the MG-132 group and pshSTAT3 group (P＜0.01).Western blotting showed that the p-STAT3 protein expression up-regulation was observed in the MG-132 group,whereas down-regulation was expressed in the combined group and pshSTAT3 group.Conclusion:The shRNA targeting STAT3 gene can prevent the up-regulation of p-STAT3 protein following a MG-132 treatment thereby significantly enhancing the anti-tunlor effect of the protease inhibitor,MG-132,on human laryngeal carcinoma cells.
