OBJECTIVE:To discuss clinical efficacy and safety of leuprolide acetate in the treatment of endometriosis. METH-ODS:66 endometriosis patients were divided into observation group(37 cases)and control group(29 cases)according to random number table method. Observation group was treated with Leuprolide acetate microsphere for injection,3.75 mg/time,on the upper arm, abdomen or buttocks since the first-fifth day of menstrual cycle(administration time was available at hysterectomized patients disposal),and then every 4 weeks;one administration was recognized as a treatment course. Control group was treated with Ethi-nyl estradiol cyproterone tablet orally,1 tablets per day for 3 weeks, one week drug withdrawal,as a treatment course. 2 groups were given 3-5 courses of treatment according to their tolerance or the improvement of clinical symptoms. The improvement of clini-cal symptoms were compared between 2 groups, and the levels of FSH,LH and E2 were compared before and after treatment;the occurrence of ADR and the time of the return of menses were recorded. RESULTS:2 patients in observation group and 1 patient in control group withdrew from the test. After treatment, total effective rate was 97.14% in observation group, which was significant-ly higher than 75.00% in control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no statistical signifi-cance in the levels of FSH,LH and E2 between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of FSH,LH and E2 were de-creased significantly, and the observation group was more significant than the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Total incidence of ADR was 20.00% in observation group, compared to control group (21.42%),there was no statistical significance (P>0.05). The time of the return of menses in observation group was (89.75 ± 3.34) d after drug withdrawal,com-pared to control group [(88.46±2.94)d],there was no statistical significance(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Leuprolide acetate can effectively improve clinical symptoms of patients with endometriosis, and reduce the levels of FSH,LH and E2 with slight ADR, and it doesn’t influence the time of the return of menses.

This article reported a survived case of amniotic band syndrome (ABS) following fetal reduction by radiofrequency ablation. The woman conceived monochorionic diamniotic twin pregnancy spontaneously. Prenatal ultrasound at 24 weeks of gestation indicated twin-twin transfusion syndrome (stage Ⅲ), and radiofrequency ablation for fetal reduction was successfully performed after formal consent. At 28 +6 weeks, ultrasound reexamination revealed significant edema in the left foot of the fetus, with banding around the ankle, as well as the strangulation mark and narrowing rings. Fetal ABS (ⅡB stage) was diagnosed after multidisciplinary consultation. An immediate emergency cesarean section was performed and a live male baby was born. A thin amniotic band could be seen wrapping around the left ankle of the newborn for several rounds, with obvious strangulation marks about 1 cm deep into the skin, and significant edema on the dorsum and sole of the foot, and the submalleolus area. The amniotic band was released at once, and the edema faded gradually after surgery. After a follow-up of 28 days, the lower limbs of the newborn became normal.

Objective:To determine the incidence of adrenal incidentalomas(AIs) in patients with diabetes mellitus and the metabolism profiles. Methods:A total of 615 hospitalized patients with diabetes mellitus in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Peking University People′s Hospital from March 2020 to May 2021 were retrospectively included in this study. AIs were screened by unenhanced chest computed tomography(CT) retrospectively and subsequently confirmed by multiplanar reconstruction. Participants′ physical indicators, metabolic profiles, and adrenal function parameters were collected. Unpaired t test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Chi-Square test were adopted to compare the metabolism profiles between diabetes mellitus patients with or without AIs. Regression models were used to estimate the correlations between AIs and the metabolism profiles such as blood glucose, blood lipids, blood pressure, and the adrenal function parameters.Results:Twenty-seven out of 615 participants were detected with AIs(4.4%). Patients with AIs had higher body mass index, waist circumference, and hip circumference than patients without AIs [(29.4±5.1)kg/m 2vs(26.8±3.8)kg/m 2,P=0.018; (102.3±11.7)cm vs(95.8±10.3)cm, P=0.002; (107.3±10.1)cm vs(101.4±7.6)cm, P=0.008]. The levels of serum uric acid and urinary albumin/creatinine ratio were also significantly increased in patients with AIs [(409.6±118.1)μmol/L vs(357.4±100.6)μmol/L, P=0.009; 21.25(7.49, 180.24)mg/g vs 8.60(4.71, 34.56)mg/g, P=0.010]. Besides, individuals with AIs were also associated with a higher risk of co-existing hypertension( P=0.045). Conclusion:The incidence of AIs in patients with diabetes is 4.4%. The presence of AIs in patients with diabetes may associated with increased risk of obesity and hypertension.
