Objective To explore the application of Chinese version of PedsQLTM Multidimensional Fatigue Scale(PedsQLTM MFS) in children with leukemia. Methods 141 children with leukemia and their main caretakers (one parent) were surveyed with the Chinese version of PedsQLTMMFS.Results The Cronbach α was 0.836-0.949 and 0.761-0.930 for parent-proxy scale and children's self-report scale respectively. The correlation coefficients between each item and its subscale were higher than those between each item and other subscales. The scores of parent-proxy scale and children's self-report scale were positively correlated with the correlation coefficient as 0.373-0.738,P<0.01.Conclusions The Chinese version of PedsQLTMMFS has good reliability and validity. It is a reliable scale in measuring fatigue in children with leukemia.

Objective To describe fatigue among children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)receiving chemotherapy in hospital and explore its related factors. Methods A total of 100 hospitalized children with ALL receiving chemotherapy and their main caregivers were surveyed on demographic information, treatment data,Wong-Baker facial scale and the PedsQLTMMFS Multidimensional Fatigue Scale. Results The incidence of fatigue was 99% (99/100).The total score of fatigue scale was (56.71±17.32) on average.Multiple linear regression modeling showed that the factors related with fatigue included the time of dexamethasone use, childen's sleep quality, hemoglobin content, pain score, the time for the present chemotherapy, age and main caregivers' self-rating health status (P< 0.05 or 0.01).Conclusions Fatigue is serious among children with ALL receiving chemotherapy and is related with demographic factors, diseases, treatment condition and health status of the caregivers.

Objective To investigate current status of learned resourcefulness in pregnant women, and to identify its influencing factors. Methods With convenient sampling,a self-made General Data Questionnaire and the Chinese version of Self-Control Schedule (C-SCS) was used to survey 360 pregnant women in the antenatal clinic in one three-class hospital in Guangzhou. Results The mean score of learned resourcefulness in pregnant women was (115.00±14.42) and its influencing factors included education degree, gravidity, pregnancy school training and planed pregnancy. Conclusions Learned resourcefulness in pregnant women loads upper level.Medical staff should take targeted interventions to strengthen it and facilitate the mental well-being of pregnant women.

Objective To investigate the perceptions of medical staff about chemotherapeutic symptoms in children with leukemia.Method Sixty-one doctors and nurses were involved in the investigation using a self-designed questionnaire on uncomfortable symptom scale.Result The main symptoms of chemotherapy included hair loss, poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, oral mucositis and fatigue. Conclusion Chemotherapeutic symptoms are common in children with leukemia and need appropriate nursing management.

Objective To explore the application of scene simulation teaching combined with research design in the teaching of Community Nursing and evaluate its effects. Methods The scene simulation teaching combined with research design was used in the teaching of Community Health Promotion and Health Education in 68 nursing undergraduate students. The student groups were required to do the scenario case preparation and presentation, and conduct the research design according to specific situations of community health education. The mastery of related knowledge of students before and after the class was compared. Results All the student groups completed the course requirements. After class, the students better grasped the community health education, research design and other related knowledge compared with before class.Sixty-one students (89.71%) regarded the scene simulation teaching combined with research design was suitable for the teaching of Community Health Promotion and Health Education, and over 80% students regarded this teaching was benefit for the development of their ability of self-learning,teamwork and flexible application of knowledge. Conclusions The scene simulation teaching combined with research design can not only help students master related knowledge, but also focuses on students' ability training, which is suitable for comprehensive application of knowledge.

Objective To study the psychosocial behavior reaction, psychosocial needs, anxiety and depression among colostomy patients prior to discharge and to explore the relationship between them. Methods Totally 67 colostomy patients from 2 hospitals in Guangzhou were recruited and investigated by demographic questionnaire,Ostomy Psychosocial Behavior Reaction Questionnaire,Ostomy Psychosocial Needs Questionnaire,Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale 1-2 days prior to discharge. Results The psychosocial behavior reaction among coIostomy patients was in the moderate level with the mean score 2.15±0.27.The psychosocial needs were in medium to high level with the mean score 2.09±0.41.About 37.3% of colostomy patients showed anxiety, while 20.9% patients showed depression.Significant positive correlation was shown between psychosocial behavior reaction and psychosocial needs(r=0.565,P<0.01),while significant positive correlation was also shown between psychosocial behavior reaction and anxiety-depression(r=-0.472,-0.319,P<0.01).Psychosocial needs and anxiety could predict psychosocial behavior reaction positively(β=0.486,-0.375,P<0.01).Conclusion The positive acknowledgement and reconstruction are the main psychosocial behavior reactions prior to discharge in colostomy patients.Patients with more psychosocial needs, severe anxiety show more psychosocial behavior reaction.

Objectives To explore the relationship between illness perceptions and health behavior in the subjects. Methods Revised illness perception questionnaire and health promoting lifestyle profileⅡ (HPLPⅡ) were used to measure 101 patients′illness perception and health behavior between the groups. Results The HPLPⅡscore of LEAD was(2.17 ± 0.29) with the score of dimension. The course of disease, prognosis and perception of emotion were negatively related to health behaviour; personal control and primaty congtion of drsease were postively related to health behaviour (all P<0.01). Conclusion Medical personnel should pay attention to the relationship between illness perceptions and health behavior in patients with LEAD and effective measures should be taken to improve the patients′illness perceptions, promote their choices and persistence in health behavior and improve the quality of life.

Objective To study the quality of life of patients with lower extremity artery disease (LEAD) and explore the effect of demographic and clinical factors on their quality of life. Method A self-designed demographic and clinical data questionnaire and the MOS 36 items short form health survey were used to investigate the life quality of 90 LEAD patients. Results The scores on the dimensions of life quality of the LEAD patients were significantly lower than those of common population (P<0.001). The marriage status and education affected patients′physical function, general health and social health;the longer the course of disease, the worse the general health;the complications, exercise and kind of disease affected patients'physical responsibility, physical function and emotion;the kind of disease affected patients'vitality; patients with exercise had higher general health (all P<0.05). Conclusions The life quality of LEAD patients is in general lower. The life quality of patients with different demographic and clinical data factors is varied. Therefore, doctors and nurses should correctly assess the life quality of LEAD patients and instruct those with problems so as to improve their quality of life.
