Objective To investigate the changes of plasma epinephrine (E) and norepinephrine (NE) in rabbits with firearm thoracic wounds. Methods A total of 24 rabbits were divided into 3 groups randomly, the simple thoracic penetrating injury group (Group A, n = 8), the pseudo-injury group (Group B, n = 8)and the normal control group ( Group C, n = 8). The pressures of carotid artery and jugular vein were recorded by eight-road physiological recorder at 5 minutes before injury. And the concentrations of plasma E and NE were detected through high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and electrochemical detection (ED) at 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours after injury in all the rabbits. Results The concentrations of plasma E and NE in Group A were significantly higher than those of Group C (P<0.01) and changed regularly. There was no significant difference between Group B and Group C. The pressures of carotid artery and jugular vein of Group A increased by 1.8 and 6.8 times, respectively, during 2 millisecond after injury, then decreased to normal immediately. They decreased to the minimum (0.63 and 0.25 time, respectively) in 30 minutes and 5 minutes respectively and averagely, and raised to normal slowly after 6 hours and 12 hours respectively and averagely. There was no significant difference between Group B and Group C. Conclusions The concentrations of plasma E and NE increase significantly in the rabbits with thoracic firearm wounds. Their changes have close relationship with the severity of wound and can be used as a judging criterion during the early period of wound.

Objective To investigate the effect of carvedilol combined with spironolactone in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic heart failure clinical efficacy and to provide reference for clinical treatment of formulation. Methods 104 elderly patients with chronic heart failure were randomly divided into observation group and control group,52 cases were randomly divided into observation group and control group.Control group intervention in accord-ance with the conventional treatment of chronic heart failure program, the observation group in the conventional scheme based on,combined with oral carvedilol and spironolactone therapy.6 months after treatment, clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups. The results of echocardiography before and after treatment in two groups were compared. The adverse reactions in the treatment process were compared. Results The effective rate in the observation group was 59.62%,the total effective rate was 96.15%,which were significantly higher than those of the control group (χ2 =4.10,9.82,all P <0.05);After treatment,LVEDD and LVESD of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment[(51.89 ±7.06)mm,(41.39 ±6.85)mm,(60.71 ±7.43)mm,(51.02 ±7.95)mm], LVEF[(52.31 ±9.02)% and (41.64 ±7.73)]were significantly higher than that before treatment, there were statistifically significant differences between the two groups(t =4.92,5.10,5.45,2.87,2.98,3.03,all P <0.05);After treatment,LVEDD[(51.89 ±7.06 )mm],LVESD [(41.39 ±6.85 )mm]of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and LVEF(52.31 ±9.02)% were significantly higher than that of the control group, there were statistifically significant differences between the two groups (t =3.02,2.98,2.97,all P <0.05);There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P >0.05).Conclusion Carvedilol combined with spironolactone can significantly improve the clinical effect of the treatment of elderly patients with chronic heart failure, effectively improve the left ventricular remodeling in patients with, improve myocardial contractility in patients and has good security.

Objective To investigate the effects of intravenous medication and pelvic perfusion in the treatment of gynecological acute and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. Methods 120 cases with pelvic inflammatory disease were randomly divided into two groups. The control group(60 cases) received intravenous drugs. The observation group(60 cases) were given pelvic infusion therapy. The treatment efficacy of the two groups was compared after treatment for 14 days. Results The obvious effective rate of the observation group was 80.00%,which was significantly higher than 50.00% in the control group(x2 =11.58,P < 0.05).The total effective rate in the observation group was 90.00%,which was significantly higher than 68.33% in the the control group(x2 =13.72,P < 0.05).The incidence rate of adverse reactions in the control group was 38.33%,that in the observation group was 20.00%,the difference between the two groups was significant(x2 =4.18,P < 0.05).Conclusion Pelvic perfusion therapy can improve the clinical efficacy of pelvic inflammatory disease, improve the symptoms of patients, reduce side effects, which is worthy of clinical application.

Objective To analyse clinical characteristics of patients with epilepsy induced by playing Mah-jong.Methods The medical records of 14 epileptic patients who were admitted at the Epilepsy Center of PUMC Hospital chief complaint of Mah-jong induced epileptic seizures from 1996 to 2000 were retrospectively reviewed. Results 12 patients showed generalized tonic-clonic seizures and 2 patients showed partial seizures with secondary generalization. Interictally, normal EEG were found in 13 patients, and one patient was discharged. None patients recept anticonvulsant therapy for preventing seizures. Conclusion Mah-jong induced epilepsy, a reflex epilepsy, is probably related to thinking, spatial task and decision making while playing mah-jong. It is benign, and could be easily prevented by stopping playing Mah-jong.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(07):-
Objective To investigate effect on telomerase activity of Hep-2 cells treated by anticancer drugs(hydroxycamptothecine, cisplatin and cytoxan). Methods By MTT method,we measured the 50% inhibitory concentration(IC 50 ) at 72h,and compared to untreated control cells. Telomerase activity of Hep-2 cells treated by the drugs in different concentration based on IC 50 for different time was observed by Telomeric Repeat Amplification Protocol with ELISA(TRAP-ELISA).Results Hydroxycamptothecine and cytoxan could inhibit proliferation of Hep-2 and down-regulate telomerase activity of Hep-2 cell. However, cisplatin promoted proliferation of Hep-2 and up-regulated telomerase activity of Hep-2 cell. Conclusions Hydroxycamptothecine and cytoxan could down-regulate telomerase activity of Hep-2 cell by direct or indirect pattern, which may correlate with drug concentration and time-dependent pattern.Cisplatin could up-regulate telomerase activity of Hep-2 cell, which mechanism is not clear.

Objective To check the change of content of serum beta-apoliprotien(?-AP) and insulin(INS) in the patient with Alzheimer disease, and to reflect the effect of using different drug. Methods 60 cases of this disease and 30 cases of the control group were been detected by radioimmunoassay(RIA). Results The content of ?-AP in Alzheimer disease(AD) was obviously higher than that in control groups(P

Objective To investigate the expression of NF-κB/p65 in nasal NK/T cell lymphomas. Methods Immunohistochemis-try and TUNEL were used to study the expression of NF-KB/p65 and cell apoptosis in 23 nasal NK/T cell lymphoma samples and 14 benign lymph node lesions. Results The NF-KB/p65 positive rates were 43.5% (10/23). The expression of NF-κB/p65 was negative correlated with apoptotic index among 23 nasal NK/T cell lymphomas(P <0. 05). The mean survival period in patients expressed NF-KB/p65 was sig-nificantly shorter than that in negative group(P <0. 05). Conclusions Apoptosis inhibited by overexpression of NF-κB/p65 might be in-volved in the development of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma. NF-κB/p65 expression may be an unfavorable prognostic factor of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma.
