Objective To investigate the clinical effects of treatment of chronic pulmonary heart disease (CPHD) at acute stage with sodium ferulate and Ciwujia injection. Methods 90 cases of CPHD at acute stage were recruited into treatment group 1, treatment group 2 and control group. The control group was treated with consistent inhalation of oxygen,antibiotics, and symptomatic therapies like relieving cough, removing sputum, and stopping wheeze. The treatment group 1was treated with sodium ferulate, Ⅳ 0.2g, once daily for successive 14days, in addition to the conventional treatment. The treatment group 2 was treated with Ciwujia Injection, 100ml Ⅳ, once daily for successive 14 days. Observe the curative effect and the changes of blood gas analysis indexes (PAo2, PaCO2, SAO2) and bemorheological indexes (whole blood high-cutting viscosity, whole blood low-cutting viscosity, whole blood recovery viscosity, erythrocyte aggregation index, and HCT) before and after treatment. Result Compared with the control group, both treatment groups got improvement in blood gas analysis indexes and hemorheological indexes and curative effect, but no significant difference between the two groups (P＞0.05).Conclusion both sodium ferulate and Ciwujia injection had good results in treating CPHD at acute stage, and there was no difference between the two medicines in terms of curative effects.

To investigate the possible effects of cyclosporine A(CsA) on the T cell dependent liver injury induced by Concanavalin A (Con A) in Kunming mice,25 Kunming mice were randomly divided into five groups. Con A (doses of 10mg/kg, 20mg/kg and 40mg/kg) was administered via the tail vein to duplicate the liver injury as the ConA group; CsA subcutaneously injected twice at doses of 130mg/kg 15 hours and 1 hour respectively before ConA challenge constitutes the CsA group. Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) only served as the control group. Blood samples for tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF ?) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) measurement were obtained at 8 hours after ConA administration. Histopathological examination was also performed for liver tissue. The results showed that ConA induced specific liver injury in Kunming mice was successfully duplicated. Objective:To detect the influence of the early Class Ⅲ orthopedic treatment on the development of the maxillary.Methods:Four adolescence rhesus monkeys were fitted with casting Twin-block magnetic appliance(TMA),two were put to death after 1.5 months and another two after 3 months,zygomaticofrontal sutures were harvested,and performed histological examination using optical and electron microscope.Another two monkeys without appliance were served as control.Results:The maxillary sutures were rebuilt,after Class Ⅲ functional orthopedic,and the zygomaticomaxillary suture,zygomaticotemporal suture and transverse palatine suture were especially active.Electron microscopy results showed that osteoblasts and fibroblasts were active,and fibroblasts showed more active effects.Conclusion:During the treatment of the Class III functional orthopedics,maxillary sutures take part in the rebuilding actively,and there are lots of new bone formation along the sutures.

This study was aimed to investigate Baishile Capsule on behavior, memory and expression of SYN I and SYNA in hippocampal CA3 region of depression model rats. SD rats were randomly divided into six groups, which were the control group, depression model group, fluoxetine hydrochloride group, and the Baishile Capsule group (2.88 g·kg-1, 1.44 g·kg-1, 0.72 g·kg-1). The chronic stress depression model rats were established by chronic and mild unpredictable stressors as described in the literature. In the model group, medicine was intragastricly administered once per day and continued for 21 days. In the control group and model group, same volume of distilled water was intragastricly administered. The open-field test, preference for 1% sucrose solution, Morris water maze, and rate of weight were carried out and observed. Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization were used in the observation of the expression of SYN I and SYNA in each group of model rats. The results showed that high-dosage Baishile Capsule can significantly increase the horizontal and vertical activities of score after two-week treatment (P< 0.01). The middle-dosage Baishile Capsule can significantly increase the horizontal activity of score after three-week treatment (P< 0.05). The rat's preference for sucrose solution was obviously increased in the high-dosage group after one-week treatment and in the middle-dosage group after three-week treatment (P< 0.01, or P< 0.05). The rate of weight of rats was obviously increased in the high-dosage group after two-week treatment and in the middle-dosage group after three-week treatment (P< 0.01, or P< 0.05). The high-dosage and middle-dosage Baishile Capsule can shorten EL, and significantly increase the number of target quadrant. The high-dosage Baishile Capsule can obviously shorten the target quadrant latency (P< 0.05). Compared with the model group, the immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization showed high-dosage Baishile can significantly promote the expression of SYN I and SYNA in hippocampal CA3 region; and the middle-dosage group can enhance the expression of SYNA (P < 0.05, or P <0.01). It was concluded that Baishile Capsule can obviously improve the behavior and the expression of SYN I and SYNA in hippocampal CA3 region of depression model rats.

Objective To study the effect of sodium ?-aescin on the matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and laminin (LN) expression in rats after focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion, and provide experimental evidence for the relationship of MMP-9 and LN expression change with the neuroprotection of sodium ?-aescin. Methods The Spraque-Dawley (SD) rat model of focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion of cerebral middle artery was prepared. Fifty-six rats were randomly divided into the normal, sham, ischemia and reperfusion, as well as ischemia and reperfusion-treated with sodium ?-aescin groups. The latter two were further divided into six subgroups according to reperfusion time interval of 3h, 6h, 12h, 24h, 72h and 7d after brain ischemia, with 4 rats in each subgroup. Immunohistochemical staining and image analysis were used to measure the expression of MMP-9 and LN in the ischemic region. Results The expression of MMP-9 started to increase at 6h, reached the peak at 12h, decreased in 24h, and reached the lowest on 7d in cerebral ischemia and reperfusion group. Objective To study the inhibitory effect on the expression of regulated upon activation,normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES) and monocyte ehemotactic activity of ectopic endometrial stromal cells by nuclear factor(NF)-kB decoy oligonucleotides (ODN). Methods The stromal cells of ectopic endometrium were divided into 3 groups. Two groups were cultured with or without 10 μg/L of interleukin (IL)-1β. Another group was transfected with NF-kB decoy ODN with the aid of a lipofectamine reagent. After 4 h of transfection, 10 μg/L of IL-1β was added to induce the stromal cells to secrete RANTES. Concentration of RANTES in the supernatant at 4, 8, 12, 24 and 36 h was measured with the sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). U937 monocyte chemotactic activity was assayed in Boyden chambers. The specific RANTES-neutralizing monoclonal antibodies at serial doses (0. 5, 1, 2, 4and 8 mg/L) were added into IL-1β induced medium of 24 h to detect the monocyte chemotactic activity of RANTES in supernatant. Results The concentration of RANTES secreted by stromal cells was respectively (58 ± 10), ( 150 ± 35 ), ( 360 ± 46 ) and ( 586 ± 42 ) ng/L after IL-1β stimulation for 8,12,24 and 36 h,significantly higher than that of stromal cells cultured without IL-1β. The concentrations of RANTES were respectively (86±16), ( 128±28 ) and ( 183±32) ng/L after IL-1β stimulation for 12, 24 and 36 h in stromal cells transfected with NF-kB decoy ODN, evidently lower than that of stromal cells stimulated with IL-1β alone. The monocyte ehemotactic index of 12, 24, 36 h in conditioned medium of stromal cells transfected with NF-kB decoy ODN was respectively 10. 3 ± 0. 9, 13.7 ± 1.1, 18.6 ± 1.2, which was evidently lower than that of stromal cells stimulated with IL-1β alone. The anti-RANTES antibody at 0. 5, 1,2, 4 and 8 mg/L inhibited respectively 5%, 23%, 40%, 62% and 61% of the chemotactic activity in 12 h medium treated with IL-1β. Conclusions RANTES accounts for the majority of the monocyte chemotactic activity in IL-1β induced medium of 24 h. NF-kB decoy ODN may influence the feed-forward inflammatory loop whereby IL-1β from activated macrophages can lead to RANTES production by ectopic implants and further monocyte chemotaxis.

Objective To study the relationship between the type of histopathology and prognosis of contained mucous adenocarcinoma(CMAC) of stomach and its clinical significance. Methods Eighty-seven cases of CMAC of stomach were observed by means of pathomorphology, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry and follow up etc. Results The malignant behavior of the cancer was significant difference according to the nature and quantity of the CAMC and the primary pathological type of the cancer.The clinical type in simple mucous carcinoma was mainly Borrmann type I;in tubular papilla mucous adenocarcinoma was mainly Borrmman type II; in signet-ring cell mucous carcinoma was mainly Borrmman type IV,and in mixed cell mucous carcinoma was mainly Borrmman type III. There was significant difference in the lymphatic metastasis and survival rate between the 4 groups. Conclusions Correct differentiation of the pathological type of contained mucous adenocarcinoma of stomach is important for guading the treatment and predicting the prognosis.Cathepsin D expression can help for understanding the biological behavior of CMAC of the stomach.

AIM: To investigate the expression of SCL (stem cell leukemia) gene in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) and bone marrow hematopoietic cells from patients with aplastic anemia (AA) and normal individuals. METHODS: Bone marrow stromal cells from AA (9 cases) and normal individuals (33 cases) were amplified by long-term in vitro culture. The adherent and nonadherent cells were collected respectively. RT-PCR-ELISA assay was then performed to detect the expression of SCL gene and the housekeeping gene ?_2 microglobulin (?_2M). The expression ratio of SCL gene were analyzed and its expression level was normalized by ?_2M gene acting as an internal calibration for the purpose of semi-quantitative analysis. Objective To study the cytogenetic features of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and analyze the association with cytogenetic features and early responses after induction therapy.Methods The karyotypes of 395 patients who had been newly diagnosed with AML were analyzed.These patients were divided into three groups (low-risk,intermediate-risk and high-risk),according to the AML NCCN guidelines.The incidence of different karyotypes in these three groups and the complete remission (CR) rate after the first cycle of induction therapy were analyzed.Results The incidence rates of karyotypes in high-risk,intermediate-risk and low-risk groups were 50.56 ％ (180/356),39.89 ％ (142/356),9.55 ％ (34/356),respectively.All patients with t(15;17) who completed induction therapy reached CR.There was significant difference in the CR rates of t(8;21) groups with or without additional karyotypes [92.00 ％(23/25) vs 50.00 ％(11/22)] (x2 =10.317,P =0.001).There was no significant difference in the CR rates between normal and-Y karyotype group [61.90 ％ (39/63) vs 58.82 ％ (10/17)] (x2 =0.054,P =0.817).Complex cytogenetics ascribed to the low-risk group,of which monosomal karyotype was common,nine of ten patients with monosomal karyotype were associated with an inferior CR rate.Conclusion The cytogenetic features of AML are different from previous reports by other centers.The cytogenetic features of AML patients not only influence the long-term survival,but also the CR rates of induction therapy.
