Objective To investigate the preventive measurement of vagal reflex occurrence on patients with percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA).Methods On the reason of vagal reflex occurrence,to 75 patients with PTCA adopt the measurement to prevent hypovolemia, control the excessive rebound of cavity viscera, adjust the patients mental state, and so on.Then to observe the level of patients with vagal reflex occurrence, and compare with the control group of 75 patients under common care. Results The prevent group level of patients with vagal reflex occurrence is 2.61%;the control group is 28%.Conclusion To patients with PTCA adopt the measurement to prevent hypovolemia, control the excessive rebound of cavity viscera, adjust the patients mental state, and so on.The effect to decrease the level of vagal reflex occurrence is great.

To examine the role of nitric oxide in the beta-adrenergic vasodilation of epicardial coronary arteries in dogs, 12 dogs were instrumented for measurement of left anterior descending coronary artery diameter by transthoracic echocardiography before and after dobutamine (5 microg/kg/min IV) with and without intracoronary infusion of NG-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA) (1 mg/kg). In all 12 dogs, the diameter of left anterior descending coronary artery increased significantly from 2.35 +/- 0.25 mm to 2.59 +/- 0.24 mm (P<0.001) after dobutamine administration. In 6 of the 12 dogs, the percent change in left anterior descending coronary artery diameter induced by dobutamine decreased significantly from 12.5% +/- 8.6% to -1.5% +/- 5.4% (P<0.05) after the administration of intracoronary L-NMMA (1 mg/kg for 5 min) to block nitric oxide synthesis from L-arginine. The study demonstrated that nitric oxide formation contributes to the beta-adrenergic dilatory response of epicardial coronary arteries to dobutamine in dogs.

To assess the left ventricular longitudinal regional myocardial systolic function by strain imaging (SI) echocardiography and to study the relationship between regional myocardial systolic function and left ventricular structure in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). SI echocardiography were performed in 18 patients with HCM and 17 healthy subjects. For each wall, regional myocardial systolic strain was analyzed at the basal, mid, and apical level respectively. And the peak systolic strain was measured. Our results showed that the patients with HCM had reduced peak systolic strain at almost each segment of different walls when compared with healthy subjects. There was significant correlation between the mid-septum peak systolic strain and the thickness of IVS, so was the correlation between the mid-septum peak systolic strain and the IVS to LVPW thickness ratio. This study demonstrated that the left ventricular longitudinal regional myocardial systolic function was abnormal in HCM, and this kind of abnormalities existed extensively in hypertrophic and non-hypertrophic cardiac segments. The degrees of left ventricle hypertrophy and asymmetry are related to the myocardial regional systolic function in HCM.

Objective:To learn the application of nosocomial infection prevention and control measures as stipulated in COVID-19 emergency plans by medical institutions at all levels in the region, for the purpose of strengthening epidemic prevention and control. Methods:During March 12-13, 2020, customized questionnaires were used to learn from 186 hospitals and medical institutions regarding the basics of their nosocomial prevention management departments, emergency plan application and revisions made. Comparison of the ratios or constituent ratios were tested with χ2 test, while the continuous variables analysis between groups was verified with one-way ANOVA. Results:77.53% of the medical institutions had set up independent nosocomial infection management departments, and 87.30% of the institutions were qualified. 80% of the medical institutions had in place emergency plans for respiratory infectious diseases, but 98.05% of them had revised their plans during the pandemic, with an average of 10.85 newly added and revised provisions. Only 30.11% of emergency planed provide for clearly graded early warning. Conclusions:Efforts should be upgraded to develop an emergency prevention and control system for infection prevention and control in epidemics, and improve technical support for infection prevention and control in the system; to strengthen the clearly-graded early warning and graded responses in a scientific manner; and conduct regular drills, revise plan to ensure its applicability.

Objective:
To evaluate and compare the caries prevention effectiveness of a resin-based sealant and a glass ionomer sealant on permanent first molars in 7- to 9-years-old school children.
Methods:
A randomized controlled, examiner-blinded, 5-year clinical trial was conducted in 19 primary schools in Dalian, Liaoning province. Totally 419 children (with 664 first molars) who had at least one sound permanent first molar with deep fissures or fissures with signs of non-cavitated lesions were recruited and stratified and allocated randomly into three parallel groups. A resin-based sealant was used in Group R (136 children with 219 first molars) and a glass ionomer sealant was used in Group G (130 children with 218 first molars). The third group (Group N, 153 children with 227 first molars) with none of the two sealants applied was served as blank control. Follow-up examinations were conducted at 0.5, 1, 2, and 5 years after sealing in order to assess the retention of the sealants and the incidence of caries occurrence.
