Objective To investigate the feasibility of video-assisted thoracoscopic sympathetic trunk clipping in the treatment of craniofacial hyperhidrosis. Methods A total of 10 patients were operated on under general anesthesia with double-lumen endotracheal intubation. The patients were placed in lateral recumbent position with one-lung ventilation. A 7 mm trocar and a 4.5 mm trocar were inserted at the 2~3 intercostal space on the midaxillary line and at the 4~5 intercostal space on the posterior axillary line, respectively, to introduce surgical instruments and thoracoscopic camera. Alongside the sympathetic chain, the sympathetic nerve trunk immediately below the second costal margin was blocked with small-sized titanium clips. Then the lung was inflated and the incision sutured. Afterwards, the procedure in the contralateral hemithorax was performed using the same method. Results The operating time was 55~130 min (mean, 110 min). Symptoms of craniofacial hyperhidrosis disappeared in the 10 patients, all of who were satisfied with curative results. The postoperative hospital stay was 2~3 days. Neither Horner’s syndrome nor other serious complications were observed. Seven of the patients developed slight compensation hyperhidrosis in their chest, abdomen, back or legs. All the patients had normally returned to work and physical exercises in 7~10 days. Postoperative follow-up for 1~9 months (mean,6.3 months) in all the patients found no recurrence. Conclusions Video-assisted thoracoscopic block of sympathetic trunk below the second costal margin for craniofacial hyperhidrosis is safe and effective.

BACKGROUND:Poststroke depression is one of the most common psychological behavior disorders after stroke and its mechanism remains unclear. Studies have suggested that microRNAs (miRNAs) involved in neurogenesis and synaptogenesis may play an important role in psychology diseases. OBJECTIVE:To observe the expression of miR-137 in the blood and brain of poststroke depression rats and its effect on the behaviors of rats. METHODS:Thirty-six rats were equal y divided into six groups:control, model, agomir-137, agomir-NC, agomir-137+Grin2A and agomir-137+vector groups. Control group had no treatment. Poststroke depression models were established by ligation of middle cerebral artery and chronic mild stimulation in the latter four groups fol owed by receiving an injection of nothing, agomir-137, agomir-NC, LV-CMV-Grin2A or control plasmids into the left lateral ventricle, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:We found significantly lower miR-137 levels in the brain and peripheral blood of post-stroke depression rats compared with normal rats. Vertical scores and horizontal scores on the behavior test were significantly higher in the agomir-137 group than the agomir-NC and model groups at 3 weeks after cerebral ischemia;while, sucrose consumption percentage was also higher in the agomir-137 group at the end of 2 weeks after cerebral ischemia. Luciferase assays showed miR-137 bound to the 3’ UTR of Grin2A, regulating Grin2A expression in a neuronal cel line. Grin2A gene overexpression in the brain of post-stroke depression rats noticeably suppressed the inhibitory effect of miR-137 on post-stroke depression. Overal , these findings show that miR-137 suppresses Grin2A protein expression through binding to Grin2A mRNA, thereby exerting an inhibitory effect on post-stroke depression and offering a new therapeutic target for poststroke depression.

Objective To explore the impacts of over-expression of microRNA-7 (miRNA-7) on the sensitivity of cis-platin in esophageal carcinoma cell line TE-1, and the possible mechanism thereof. Methods Lipofectmin 2000 method was used to transient transfect with miRNA-7 mimic into esophageal cancer cell line TE-1, which was taken as transfection group, mimic negative control was taken as transfection conrtol group. The expressions of miRNA-7 and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mRNA were detected by RT-PCR in the above two groups and normal control group. The total EGFR and EGFR in cytoplasmic and nucleus were detected with Western blot assay in transfection group and transfection control group. CCK-8 was used to detect IC50 of cisplatin in transfection group and transfection control group. The expression of EGFR was observed with immunofluorescence confocal microscope in two groups. Results The miRNA-7 expression was signifi-cantly increased in transfection group than that of transfection conrtol group and control group. The expression of EGFR mRNA was significantly reduced in transfection group (P<0.001). The total EGFR was significantly decreased in transfec-tion group than that of transfection conrtol group. The level of nuclear EGFR was significantly increased ( P<0.01),and cyto-plasm EGFR expression was significantly decreased in transfection group than that of transfection control group ( P<0.05). CCK-8 results showed that after the over expression of miRNA-7 in TE-1, the IC50 of cisplatin (48 h) increased in transfec-tion group than that of control group (P<0.01). Immunofluorescence results showed that EGFG in nuclear was higher in transfection group than that of transfection control group but its expressions reduced in cell membrane and cytoplasm. Con-clusion The over-expressed miRNA-7 in esophageal cancer cells TE-1 can reduce cisplatin sensitivity by the increased EGFR in nuclear translocation.

Objective:To investigate the personality traits of patients with anxious depression and the relationship between personality traits and clinical symptoms. Methods:From December 2011 to October 2014, 177 first-episode untreated patients with depression from the psychiatric department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University and 185 healthy controls(HC group) recruited by the community were included. All patients were divided into anxious depression group ( n=92) and non-anxious depression group ( n=85) according to whether the anxiety/somatization factor score ≥7.The simplified version of Neuroticism Extraversion Openness Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) and the Hamilton depression scale-17 (HAMD-17) were used to assess all the subjects.Statistical analyses were conducted in SPSS 21.0.Analysis of covariance was used to compare the differences of the scores on personality dimensions among the three groups. The relationship between personality dimensions and anxious depression was confirmed by Logistic regression, linear regression analysis and generalized linear models. Results:The differences of the scores on the four dimensions of neuroticism ( F=108.863, P<0.01), extraversion ( F=86.357, P<0.01), agreeableness ( F=50.615, P<0.01), and conscientiousness ( F=24.730, P<0.01) among the three groups were statistically significant.Further pairwise comparision showed, the score of neuroticisms was higher in the anxious depression group(43.05±8.92) and non-anxious depression group(39.85±7.21) than that in the HC group (30.16±6.25)( P<0.01, Bonferroni corrected). The scores of extroversion (31.22±6.33, 32.61±6.83), agreeableness (38.66±5.80, 39.46±6.19) and conscientiousness (39.75±6.89, 38.85±7.26) were lower in the anxious depression group and non-anxious depression group than those in the HC group (40.29±5.37, 44.79±4.68, 44.09±5.66, all P<0.01, Bonferroni corrected). The score of neuroticisms in anxious depression group was higher than that in non-anxious depression group, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.01, Bonferroni corrected). Logistic regression analysis with age, gender and years of education controlled showed that the score of neuroticism ( B=0.082, OR=1.085, 95% CI=1.020-1.154, P=0.009) and conscientiousness ( B=0.060, OR=1.062, 95% CI=1.006-1.120, P=0.028) were risk factors for anxiety symptoms in patients with depression.Linear regression analysis showed that the scores on neuroticism had positive predictive effects on the anxiety/somatization factor score ( B=0.055, 95% CI=0.021-0.089, P=0.002) and cognitive impairment factor score ( B=0.074, 95% CI=0.023-0.125, P=0.005) in the anxious depression group. Conclusion:Compared to non-anxious depression, patients with anxious depression show higher level of neuroticism, and the level of neuroticism can positively predict the symptoms of anxiety and cognitive impairment. The high level of neuroticism and conscientiousness may be risk factors for the occurrence of anxiety symptoms in patients with depressed.

Objective:To evaluate the new model of group screening combined with opportunistic screening for the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer. Methods:Group screening combined with opportunistic screening was used for gastric cancer screening. (1) Group screening. Cluster sampling was used to screen gastric cancer by endoscopy in high-risk population (aged 40-<70 years) of rural residents in Weihai from July 2017 to December 2020, and biopsy was obtained for histopathology if necessary. Main collection parameters included the detection rate of advanced gastric cancer, early gastric cancer and high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (HGIN). (2) Opportunistic screening. The changes of the detection rates of early gastric cancer in opportunistic screening in 2 hospitals in Weihai area were observed during the same period of time.Results:(1) In group screening, from July 2017 to December 2020, the first batch of 8 000 cases of gastric cancer screening were completed. The cases of advanced gastric cancer, early gastric cancer and HGIN were 36, 28, and 62, respectively. The detection rates of gastric cancer and early gastric cancer were 0.80% (64/8 000) and 43.75% (28/64), respectively. The proportion of early gastric cancer+HGIN who received endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) was 77.78% (70/90), and the rate of curative resection was 100.00%(70/70). (2) Opportunistic screening: from July 2017 to December 2020, the annual early gastric cancer detection rates in opportunistic screening in Wendeng District Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital were 16.67% (1/6), 20.00% (3/15), 23.53% (4/17), and 33.33% (6/18) in the consecutive 4 years, respectively. The annual detection rates of early gastric cancer in opportunistic screening in Ru Shan Peoples Hospital were 14.74% (14/95), 23.80% (60/252), 25.49% (65/255), and 24.04% (50/208), respectively. The detection rates of opportunistic screening for early gastric cancer in hospitals in Weihai city increased year by year. Conclusion:In areas with high incidence of gastric cancer, a certain scale of group screening can lead to a wider range of opportunistic screening, resulting in the increase of the detection rate of early gastric cancer. The new model of diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer is worth recommendation.

Objective:
To investigate the effects of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with polylactic acid/polycaprolactone (PLA/PCL) on healing of mininature pig deep soft tissue defect caused by fragment injury.
Methods:
Two male Bama miniature pigs with 11 to 12 months (the same below) were selected by lottery to prepare PRP. The other twenty-seven male Bama miniature pigs were used to reproduce deep soft tissue defect caused by high-explosive ammunition fragment injury on bilateral posterior femoral region. According to the random number table, 27 pigs were divided into control group, material group, and PRP+material group, with 9 pigs in each group. After debridement, wounds of pigs in material group and PRP+material group were filled with PLA/PCL and PLA/PCL+2 mL activated PRP, respectively. Pigs in each group received suture of full-thickness skin to close the wounds. The operative duration was recorded. The length and volume of wounds of pigs in the above groups were measured immediately after surgery. In 1, 2, and 4 weeks after surgery, 3 pigs in each group were sacrificed to collect femoral wounds tissue on two sides, and PLA/PCL were collected from wounds of pigs in material group and PRP+material group for general observation of wounds tissue and degradation of the material. In 2 and 4 weeks after surgery, wounds tissue was obtained to observe the histological changes by hematoxylin-eosin staining, and expressions of transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and angiogenesis were determined by immunohistochemical method. In 1, 2, and 4 weeks after surgery, wounds tissue was collected to determine mRNA expressions of TGF-β and VEGF by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Data were processed with analysis of variance of factorial design, one-way analysis of variance, and least significant difference-
