BACKGROUNDTo establish a cohort for the study of risk factors of lung cancer, and to support the study of early biomarkers and prevention of lung cancer.
METHODSDesigned a special population-based prospectively dynamic cohort among radon- and arsenic-exposed tin miners aged 40 or more years old with at least 10 years of occupational exposure in Yunnan Province, P.R.China. The mass screenings with sputum cytology and chest X-ray were conducted annually. The baseline information was collected for assessing demographic characteristics and risk factors. The multiple sputum specimens, chest radiographs and numerous biologic specimens have been collected and stored.
RESULTSFrom 1992-1999, 9143 miners have been enrolled and 460 new cases of lung cancer have been found. There had 47655 person-time chest radiographs and 46625 person-time sputum cytology among the cohort in 8 years. The relative risks of age-adjusted exposure to chronic bronchitis, silicosis, and tobacco were 1.73, 1.46, and 1.32 respectively.
CONCLUSIONSA cohort of unique occupationally-exposed tin miners with an extensive biologic specimen repository and data bank has been successfully established. Although occupational exposures are the predominant risk factors among the high risk miners, lung cancer risk is also associated with chronic obstructive lung disease (chronic bronchitis and silicosis) and a number of measures of exposure to tobacco smoke, including early age of first use, duration, and cumulative exposure.

Objective:To develop an HPLC wavelength switching method for the determination of seven components in Shenrong Guben tablets simultaneously. Methods:A Waters Sunfire C18column (250 mm ×4.6 mm,5 μm) was adopted. The column temperature was set at 30 ℃. The mobile phase was acetonitrile-0.1% phosphate solution with gradient elution. The flow rate was 0.9 ml·min-1. The detection wavelength were set at 330 nm for verbascoside and martinoside,230 nm for albiflorin and paeoniflorin, and 203 nm for ginsenoside Rg1, ginsenoside Re and ginsenoside Rb1. Results:The linear range of verbascoside, martinoside, albiflorin, paeoniflorin, ginsenoside Rg1, ginsenoside Re and ginsenoside Rb1was 6.38-159.50 μg·ml-1(r =0.999 3),3.19-79.75 μg·ml-1(r =0.999 9),4.37-109.25 μg·ml-1(r =0.999 5),14.26-356.50 μg·ml-1(r =0.999 4), 1.95-48.75 μg·ml-1(r = 0.999 8), 2.21- 55.25 μg·ml-1(r = 0.999 7) and 2.09- 52.25 μg·ml-1(r = 0.999 1), respectively. The average recovery and the corresponding RSD was 98.24% (1.11%),97.64% (1.43%),99.23% (0.80%), 100.13% (0.65%),96.99% (1.56%),98.10% (1.24%) and 97.75%(1.37%),respectively. Conclusion:The developed method can determine the contents of verbascoside, martinoside, albiflorin, paeoniflorin, ginsenoside Rg1, ginsenoside Re and ginsenoside Rb1in Shenrong Guben tablets simultaneously, which can be applied in the quality control of Shenrong Guben tablets.

Cardial troponin I(cTnI)is the preferred serological marker for the diagnosis of myocardial injury.cTnI detection is based on antibody sandwich immunoassay. The epitopes of cTnI antigen targeted by detecting and capturing antibodies in different detection reagents are inconsistent, which easily leads to the heterogeneity of cTnI detection results.Endogenous interfering factors such as cTnI autoantibody, heterophile antibody, rheumatoid factor, ect, which can seriously interfere with the results of cTnI detection, and affecting the clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of myocardial injury diseases. In this paper, the research progress of antibody sandwich immunoassay for cTnI and interference of endogenous factors on cTnI detection and solutions are reviewed to provide theoretical basis for differential diagnosis of abnormal cTnI detection results in clinical practice.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death, following lung cancer, colorectal cancer and gastric cancer.Chemoresistance is currently the major challenge in clinical treatment of HCC patients, and it is also the primary cause of the poor prognosis and high recurrence rate of patients. There are multiple factors and complex mechanisms in the occurrence of HCC drug resistance.Recent research has shown that non-coding RNA(ncRNA)is closely related to HCC chemoresistance.By regulating the expression of target genes and protein translation,ncRNA affects the occurrence, metastasis, and prognosis of HCC and is expected to become a therapeutic biomarker and potential drug therapeutic target for HCC.Therefore, this study reviews several common ncRNAs,including long non-coding RNAs(LncRNAs),miRNAs and transferRNA(tRNAs),in the molecular mechanisms and research progress of HCC chemoresistance, providing new ideas for solving the problem of HCC chemoresistance.

Rheumatoid arthritis ( RA ) is a common chronic autoimmune disease .A variety of autoantibodies appears in RA patients and the detection of autoantibodies could be used for the diagnosis and treatment for RA.Anti-citrullinated protein antibodies and rheumatoid factor has been currently used in clinical diagnosis of RA. Recently, a new widely concerned autoantibody , anti-carbamylated protein antibody , is expected to become one of the markers for early diagnosis and evaluation of disease activity and bone destruction.
