Objective To investigate the correlation between angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) gene polymorphism and kawasaki disease(KD).Methods A 287 bp Alu fragment in intron 16 of the ACE gene was used as insertion(I)/deletion(D) polymorphism marker. Abstract? AlM: To evaluate the meaning of using optical coherence tomography with enhanced depth imaging ( OCT-EDl ) to measure choroidal thickness of central serous retinopathy ( CSC) .?METHODS: With the retrospective case control study, 65 patients (65 eyes) with CSC and 50 healthy controls (50 eyes ) with age, gender and diopter - matched were recruited in this study. OCT-EDl were used to measure the subfoveal choroidal thickness ( SFCT ) in CSC eyes, the fellow eyes and also the control eyes. Of which 40 of the 65 CSC patients self-cured, 14 of them were treated with photodynamic therapy ( PDT ) , the left 11 accepted the laser photocoagulation ( LP ) . SFCT were measured 3mo after that. Compared with the previous data, the statistical analysis was carried out.?RESULTS: The SFCT value of 65 CSC eyes, 65 fellow eyes and 50 control eyes were 436. 23 ± 89. 50, 389. 45 ± 101. 03 and 329. 36 ± 95. 87μm, respectively. The SFCT of suffer and fellow eyes increased significantly compared to the control eyes ( P = 0. 008 and 0. 013, respectively). There was also significant difference in SFCT between the CSC eyes and the fellow eyes (P=0. 021). The SFCT were significantly decreased after PDT (P=0. 032), but with no significant changes after LP or self-cured ( P=0. 057 and 0. 076, respectively).?CONCLUSlON: OCT-EDl is a useful method to assess the choroidal topographic changes of CSC. The SFCT are significantly increased in the CSC eyes compared with that in the fellow eyes and the control eyes.

Objective To explore the relationship between free fatty acid(FFA)composition and other glucose and lipid metabolic parameters in patients with metabolic syndrome(MS)in community. Methods Serum FFA profile was measured with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry in 158 patients with varied metabolic syndrome components(MSC),including 61 with MS and 97 at high-risk for MS,and 43 control subjects,with diagnostic criteria by the International Diabetes Federation(IDF).Results Patients with MS had higher parameters of polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA)and n6PUFA,as compared to the patients at high risk and normal subjects(P0.05). OBJECTIVETo analyze the relationship between the pulse pressure (PP) and atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS) in middle-age and eldery paients with hyperensio, so as to provide the basis for the diagnosis and treatment of ARAS.

METHODSWe tetro spectively analyzed the data of 257 patients with hypertension undergoing renal arteriography at General Hospital of PLA between 2009 and 2014. Their mean age was (64.09 +/- 7.81) years. According the results of arteriography, they were divided into two groups: ARAS group (n = 145), and non-ARAS group (n = 112). Their PP and multinomial clinical indexes with ARAS were statistically analyzed.

RESULTSSingle factor correlation and Logisitic analysis showed that age, PP, serum creatinine (SCr) levels, and new onset of hypertension after 50 years of age were strongly positively related to ARAS. The age and PP and SCr was a team of continuous variable.

CONCLUSIONPP was the first new risk factor of ARAS in middile-aged and elderly patients with hypertension. It is suggested that PP may be a early predictive indicator and a new therapeutic target for ARAS.

OBJECTIVETo establish an HPLC fingerprint to evaluate the quality of Polygalae Radix, root xylem, and those collected in different growth ages or harvest time.

METHODSeparation was performed at 30 °C on a Kromasil C18 column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 μm); the mobile phases was acetonitrile and 0.05% H3PO4 water in the gradient elution; the flow rate was set at 1.0 mL · min(-1) and the detection wavelength at 314 nm; the quality discriminant analyses were accomplished by means of similarity analysis, cluster analysis, principal component analysis and neural network model.

RESULTIn 26 batches of Polygalae Radix, 24 batches fingerprint similarities were above 0.8. In 5 different growth or harvest time batches, 4 batches were above 0.8; in 8 batches root xylem samples, the similarities were all above 0.875. The similarity analysis was in accord with the quality discriminant analysis of cluster analysis, principal component analysis and neural network model.

CONCLUSIONFingerprint combined with chemical pattern recognition technique can effectively evaluate the quality of Polygalae Radix. The active substance species are all similar in cultivated, wild, different growth or harvest time Polygalae Radix and polygala root xylem, but the chromatography peak areas are different. The effective material contents are similar between wild and cultivated Polygalae Radix, but each chromatographic peak area of the root xylem is much smaller than that of Polygalae Radix. The chemical substance accumulation mainly depends on harvest month, but little growth time in Polygalae Radix.
