Objective:To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effects of intraperitoneal injectoin of IFN? on bronchial asthma in mice and the relevant mechanism. Methods: Thirty-six BALB/c mice were randomly equalized into 3 groups:group A (normal control group),group B (asthmatic model group) and group C (IFN? treated group). Objective: To investigate the effects of "Songyou Yin" on the invasiveness of high metastatic human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) line MHCC97H and immune function of mouse and explore its action mechanism. Methods: The MHCC97H cells were treated with "Songyou Yin" at different concentrations (2, 4, and 8 mg/mL) for 48 h. The Boden chamber assay was applied to determine the tumor cell invasive potential and gelatin zymography was performed to detect activity of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2). The nude mouse model hearing HCC xenograft with high metastatic potential was established for the in vivo study. Thirty C57BL/6 mice were randomized into intervention groups of C1, C2 and C3 with stepwise increased dosage of "Songyou Yin", and another two groups were regarded as negative and positive controls with 6 mice in each group. Forty Kunming mice were randomized into C1, C2, C3 and control groups with 10 mice in each group. The mice were administered "Songyou Yin" i. g. once daily for 7 consecutive days. After the mice were sacrificed the activities of natural killer cells were detected and the phagocytic function of abdominal cavity macrophages was observed. Results: The invasiveness of MHCC97 H cells in "Songyou Yin" groups (4 and 8 mg/mL) decreased significantly compared with the control group (P < 0.01), which was in accordance with the decreased MMP-2 activity. Moreover, "Songyou Yin" inhibited the growth of HCC in vivo. Cell-specific inhibitory ratio of NK cells was 24.6%, 27.1%, and 27.7% in C1, C2 and C3 groups; whereas phagocytic percentage of macrophages was significantly different from control group (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Chinese complex herb "Songyou Yin" inhibited the invasiveness of MHCC97H cell by suppressing MMP-2. Intragastric administration of "Songyou Yin" for 7 consecutive days enhanced the immune function of mice.

Objective To evaluate the role of SPECT cerebral perfusion imaging in assessing the stent implantation for cerebral artery stenosis.Methods A total of 35 patients (31 males,4 females,average age (63.9±10.8)years) with cerebral artery stenosis confirmed by DSA for cerebral artery stent implantation were retrospectively analyzed.99Tcm-ECD cerebral perfusion imaging was performed for all patients before and after stent implantation.The images were realigned and normalized by SPM 2.0 and then analyzed by Brain Search software for quantitative analysis.The brain was automatically separated to 210 functional areas according to Talarich map.The normalized averaged counts (NAC) of each area were calculated and compared with the data of 28 health controls (8 males,20 females,average age (35.8± 9.4) years).Less than 1.96s was defined as low perfusion lesions.The NAC values before and after stent implantation were compared for classifying improved from non-improved group.The mean number of lesions and Essen stroke risk score (ESRS) were analyzed between the two groups.The mean number of lesions and postoperative improvement rate of the internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion and stenosis were compared.Paired rank sum test,two-sample t test,two-sample rank sum test and x2 test were used for statistical analysis.Results In 35 patients with low perfusion areas,20 were significantly improved after stent implantation.The mean number of lesions in the improved group (34.05± 14.41)was significantly higher than that in the non-improved group (22.93±17.24; t=2.067,P＜0.05).The mean ESRS of the improved patients (14.8)was significantly lower than that of the non-improved patients (22.3,Z=2.24,P＜0.05).The improvement rate of 28 cases with ICA stent implantation was (60.7％,17/28)higher than that of 7 cases with middle cerebral artery (MCA) stent implantation (3/7; P＞0.05).The mean number of the ICA occlusion lesions (34.36± 14.31)was higher than that of the ICA stenosis lesions(31.35± 16.37),but the difference was not statistically significant(t=0.498,P＞0.05).The improvement rate of the ICA occlusion was higher than that of the ICA stenosis (7/11 vs 10/17),but the difference was not statistically significant (P＞0.05).Conclusion SPECT cerebral perfusion imaging and its quantitative analysis can evaluate the low perfusion lesions before stent implantation and predict the perfusion improvement after stent implantation.

Objective To explore the clinical curative effect of combined liposuction and direction areolar incision on gynecomastia. Methods Fourty-three patients,aged 14-36 years,were involved in this study,including fat type (n=15) and mixed fat and gland type (n =28).The hypertrophic mammary tissues were incised through a small incision (1.0-1.5 cm) after the tumescent liposuction.And tumescent liposuction technique was used again to make sure of the transition-layer more smooth.The incision was in compression bandage after surgery area and stitches taken out after 7 days.Results All the patients with gynecomastia were treated.The nipple-areola complex were all alive.The scar of incision was not obvious.Follow-up was done for 3 years,showing that configuration of the breasts was good.Conclusions The surgical procedure is simply,less haemorrhage and quick recovery,with good aesthetic effects,which deserves wide application.

Objective To discuss the implications of orbital septum repairing and crimpling in the plastic surgery of lower eyelid bags. Methods The ultimate results were analyzed in the patients (aged less than 40) who received three different operations from six months to five years and the effect of operation and recrudescence of lower eyelid sag were observed. The procedures included simple fat removal, fat removal plus orbicularis oculi hanging, and orbicularis oculi hanging plus orbital septum repairing and crimplling. Results Since 2002, 157 cases were treated, and the ultimate effects of patients were analyzed. 86 cases treated with orbicularis oculi hanging plus orbital septum repairing and crimplling reached the best results without recurrence. 71 cases treated with simple fat removal or fat removal plus orbicularis oculi hanging experienced recurrence in different degree within a short period. Conclusion The weakness and laxation of the former wall causes the formation of lower eyelid bag, the appearance and recrudescence mainly locate below the former wall. Orbital septum repairing and crimpling most effectively strengthen the underside of the former wall. Orbicularis oculi hanging strengthens the top of the former wall and prevents any complications. The effects of the last procedure are better than that of the other two in the near future or in the long term.

Objective To explore the nursing intervention on the pregnant women with syphilis during pregnancy so as to reduce the harm to maternal and baby.Methods Many information such as age,occupation,dwelling environment,marriage and sexual life,curing during pregnancy,pregnant and perinatal infant outcome from medical records were reviewed. Gestational syphilis women of 847 cases were randomly divided into nursing intervention group with 427 cases and control group with 420 cases.Nursing intervention group received one-by-one psychological care and health education,got cooperation from families,and received routine blood test and cure cooperation,while control group only received routine blood test and curing cooperation.Patients were followed up for seven days.Results The rate of adherence to treatment in nursing intervention group was 98.1％ which was significantly higher than 61.7％ in control group ( x2 =176.2,P ＜ 0.01 ),and the rate of accepting standard treatment between early and late pregnancy,middle and late pregnancy were significantly higher than that in control group ( x2 =17.8,P ＜ 0.01 ).The week was shorter for receiving nursing intervention and the patients' compliance was better ( P ＜ 0.01 ). Only 23 syphilis infection babies in the nursing intervention group were born,but 149 babies in control group were infected by syphilis,and the difference was significantly different( x2 =123.2,P ＜ 0.01 ).Conclusions Nursing intervention can effectively increase the compliance of pregnant women with syphilis and improve the outcome of pregnancy and perinatal infant.

Objective To discuss the reduction mammaplasty procedures by reserving the T4 nerve and blood vessels and by repairing the ligament for macromastia patients. Meths Eighteen cases of macromastia were enrolled in this study. The supeior and inferior polar portions on the median line of the breast were dissected to form a central pedicle. Outside deep and fleet branches of the ligament were repaired and the lateral deep and fleet branches of the 4th intercostal nerve reserved in the pedicle. The pedicle was revolved and fixed, the fundus of breast was reduced and the tensile force of the ligament was enhanced. The operation of two-flap rotated flaps reduced the breast volume from inside to the outside. The corium where T4 intercostal nerve distributed skin was reserved to protect the fleet branches of the nerve, and then rotated and fixed to act as a fibrous septum. Results After the operation, the blood vessel and feeling of nipple-areola complex were all satisfactory and the profile of breast was tall and straight. Follow-up from 3 months to 2 years (7 months in average) showed that the scar was unconspicuous, the appearance of the breast was not evidently changed and the patients were satisfactory. Conclusion It is a simple and well-designed procedure of reduction mammaplasty for macromastia with repaired ligment and reserved 4th intercostal nerve. The breast profile is tall and straight after the operation.

Objective To conduct the comparative comprehensive evaluation on the actual healthy effects and safety of two kinds of healthy foods capsule A and B made of Chinese medicinal herbs on sale through the low-nutritional sub-health mice model com-bined with the benefit-damage index-general score(BDI-GS) approach ,and to perform the discussion on the relevant problems a-round healthy foods .Methods The experimental healthy ICR male mice during growth period were fed with maize low-nutritional feed and the mixed feed with 3 doses of 0 .25% ,0 .5% ,0 .75% healthy foods for 12 d and the mice body masses were recorded .Af-ter dissection ,9 items of the organ index and their BDI ,GS and serum biochemical indicators were performed the statistics .Results In the capsule A ,the medium and high dose groups manifested certain health-promoting effect ,while the slight negative effect exis-ted in the low dose group ,which was expressed in the GS values ;but in the capsule B ,3 doses all caused the damage to main internal organs in different degrees ,which was expressed in BDI<1 .0 and GS<9 .0 .Conclusion At present ,despite of possessing similar ingredients ,Chinese medicinal healthy foods in market are of greater differences in intrinsic qualities ,and even partial products have some adverse effect ,the healthy functions and safety are not enough to be fully ensured .Through the systematic evaluation of the BDI-GS system ,the criteria of marketing threshold for healthy foods will be increased so as to enhance their effects and safety level .

OBJECTIVETo discuss the diagnosis of adrenoleukodystrophy(ALD) and analyse the causes of its misdiagnosis.

METHODSThe clinical and laboratory data of six cases with ALD were analyzed.

RESULTSAmong the six cases of ALD, 4 cases were of childhood cerebral ALD, 1 case of Addison only, and 1 case of adolescent cerebral ALD. Pigmentation of skin was the first symptom in 3 cases. The delay from the diagnosis of Addison's disease to that of ALD ranged from 1 to 6 years. Another 2 cases was misdiagnosed as multiple sclerosis in early stage.

CONCLUSIONThe most important reason of delay is that the physician is unfamiliar with the ALD clinical features. Assay of very long chain fatty acid (VLCFA) is useful for the early diagnosis of ALD.
