When it is cold winter in the northern China, the temperature of water is very low. Low tempera- ture is the main reason of the worse treatment of oil wastewater. In cold winter when the temperature is lowered to around 4?C, the effect of biological treatment of sewage is poor and hard to target the problem of reach a set standard of outing water. Use of microbiology to deal with oil pollution is one of the most effective, the most secure and the most thorough method. So the article from the microbiological point of view to study, isolated from nature world, screening to eight low-temperature grease which can grow under 5?C and degradation of sewage bacteria.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of probing of lacrimal passage combining injecting of US-produced TobraDex eye ointment for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis.METHODS: For 127 cases (129 eyes) of chronic dacryocystitis, first the pyoid secretion gathered in the lacrimal sac was dashed out, and some TobraDex was injected in the middle of the lacrimal passage once per day, repeated for several times. The lacrimal passage was probed when the secretion of lacrimal sac disappeared essentially. The lacrimal passage and immit TobraDex eye ointment was used once every two days, repeated for 3-4 times.RESULTS: In 126 cases (128 eyes) the lacrimal passage was dredged. Only one case (1 eye) the youthful patient did not recover for the opening ectopia of lacrimonasal duct.During the 3mo-1a random visit the chronic dacryocystitis did not recrudesce in the cases of lacrimal passage dredging.CONCLUSION: It is simple and safe to use the probing of lacrimal passage combining injecting of US-produced TobraDex eye ointment to treat the chronic dacryocystitis. This method has good curative effects and can keep the normal physiological structure of lacrimal passage. It does not need any expensive medical equipment and cost less, therefore is advisable for patients.

Objective To study the in vitro and in vivo effects of pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs) on osteoclast and osteoblast precursor cells.MethodsTo observe the in vitro effect of PEMFs,femur bone marrow cells of 8 week old female SD rats were collected.According to different treating doses, rats were divided into four treatment groups and one control group. After the treatment, the clones of granuloeyte/maerophage colony forming unit(CFU-GM) and fibroblast colony forming units(CFU-F) were measured respectively. To observe the combined in vitro and in vivo effect of PEMFs,8 week old female SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: 2-70 group, ovariectomization (OVX) group and SHAM group.Rats in the 2-70 group and OVX group were bilateral ovariectomized, while rats in the SHAM group were sham-ovariectomized.12 weeks after ovariectomization, the 2-70 group was exposed to PEMFs while the other groups were left untreated. Then, femur bone marrow cells of the rats were collected.According to the way whether the groups were treated with PEMFs,the cells were divided into six groups: 2-70 with/without treatment,OVX with/without treatment,SHAM with/without treatment. After the treatments, the clones of CFU-GM and CFU-F were measured respectively.Resultsin vitro effect of PEMFs: Compared with the control group, the CFU-GMin the treated groups reduced while the CFU-F increased.PEMFs effect in vitro and in vivo: The CFU-F in treated groupsincreased,whileno.significantdifferencesofCFU-GMwerefoundamongthegroups.Conclusion PEMFs has inhibitory effect on osteoelast precursor cells and enhances the proliferation of osteoblast precursor cells when simply applied in vitro. When PEMFs was applied in combined manner of in vitro and in vivo,it shows that PEMFs enhance the proliferation of osteoblast precursor cells but has no inhibitory effects on osteoelast precursor cells.

This study evaluated the clinical effect of impaction bone graft and distal press-fit fixation for the reconstruction of severe femoral bone defect in revision total hip arthroplasty. A total of 234 patients (involving 236 hips) with Paprosky III and IV femoral bone defects were treated with the revision total hip arthroplasty from June 1998 to Aug. 2006. Impaction bone graft technique was used for 112 hips, with allogeneic freeze-dried bone as bone graft and SPII as prosthesis. With 124 hips, modular distal press-fit fixation and tapered femoral stem (MP stem) were employed. After the operation, the subjects were followed up on regular basis and results were assessed by using the Harris Hip Score (HHS) and 12-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-12). Radiolucence, subsidence and loosening were observed and complications, including infection, fracture, dislocation etc. were recorded. A 6-14-year follow-up showed that prostheses failed, due to infection, in 4 patients of impaction bone graft group and that 6 patients in the press-fit fixation group experienced prosthesis failure, with the survival rates for the two techniques being 96.43% and 95.16%, respectively. One-way ANOVA showed that prosthesis survival was significantly associated with surgery-related complications (P<0.05) and was not related to the type of the bone defects (P>0.05). The rate of complications bore significant association with the type of bone defects in the two groups (P<0.05). Our study showed that the two revision methods could achieve satisfactory mid-term and long-term results for the reconstruction of severe bone defects. It is of great significance for attaining high prosthesis survival rate to select suitable operation on the basis of the type of bone defect. Careful operative manipulation and post-operative rehabilitation aimed at reducing complications are also important.
