Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(21):-
Objective To observe the immunologic function of critically ill newborn and the relative function of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-?B).Methods The critically ill group contained 50 cases, and 25 cases from healthy newborns were used as control group.Blood samples were collected in each case, levels of cytokine interleukin(IL)-4,interferon(IFN)-?,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-? and NF-?B were detected.Result Compared with control group,NF-?B of the critically ill newborn activated and the cytokine were disorder, and IL-4 and TNF-? increased, but IFN-? decreased. Conclusions Critically ill newborn exist immune functional disorder.Furthermore,NF-?B activation may be involved in the process in infants with critically illness.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(02):-
Forty type 2 diabetic patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) were assigned to two groups and treated respectively with?-lipoic acid or mecobalamin for 2 weeks. The results suggested that?-lipoic acid could accelerate the nerve conduction velocity and decrease the plasma level of endothelin and C reactive protein as well as microalbuminceria with a effect similar to mecobalamin therapy on DPN.

OBJECTIVETo understand the epidemic status of avian influenza A virus in chickens and men in Guangzhou area and to prevent men suffering from avian influenza A (H5N1) virus.
METHODSEtiologic and serological surveys were conducted in chickens and men who were working in the poultry farms and slaughter house. Viruses were isolated with both MDCK cells and embryonated chicken eggs. Hemagglutination inhibition tests were performed by routine method.
RESULTSAnti-H9N2 antibody was found in 12.8% of the chickens and 5.1% of the workers.
CONCLUSIONSAvian influenza virus H9N2 subtype existed in chickens and this subtype of influenza A virus might infect men.

OBJECTIVETo research the effects of Guizhi Fuling capsule on sex hormones levels in blood serum and breast issue morphology of hyperplasia of mammary glands model rats.
METHODThe unpregnancy SD rat models of hyperplasia of mammary glands were established by injecting 0.5 mg x kg(-1) benzoate estradiol. After five weeks doses, the effects of Guizhi Fuling capsule 2.0, 1.0, 0.5 g x kg(-1) and Rupixiao tablet 0.5 g x kg(-1) on the changes of papilla diameter, height and breast issue morphology of the naimal models were explored, and sex hormones levels in blood serum were measured.
RESULTGuizhi Fuling capsule can inhibitnipple swell, improve breast tissue morphology pathological profiles of the animal models, and decrease oestradiol (E2) level and increase progesterone (P) level in blood serum.
CONCLUSIONThese results suggested that Guizhi Fuling capsule could, improve mammary gland pathological profiles. Regulating sex hormone levels may be its important mechanism for treatment of hyperplasia of mammary glands.

3-8 years old group(group C2) with 50 cases] were detected.A gonadotropin releasing hormone analogue(GnRHa) stimulation test was performed in 140 girls with IPT.The 140 girls were divided into 3 groups:IPT group,CPP group, and peripheral precocious puberty group(PPP group).Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitneg tests were performed on the data between every groups. Results For basal LH levels, there were significant diffe-rences between IPT1 group and group C1,among IPT2 group,CPP group and group C2(Pa0.05).For peak LH/FSH ratios, there was significant difference between IPT2 group and CPP group(P

OBJECTIVETo ascertain extraction technology condition for extract and flavonoids from Chrysanthum morifoliwn.
METHODThe optimizing ultrasonic extraction condition on the basis of extractive yield and flavonoids were determined by orthogonal design.
RESULTThe order of factors which affected the flavonoid extraction was extraction times > ethanol concentration > ultrasonic time > solvent quantity.
CONCLUSIONThe optimum ultrasonic extractions are A2B3C3D3. Compared with traditional extraction, ultraction method is timesaving, simple to operate, stable and need not be heated.

National Journal of Andrology 2009;15(5):468-471
OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of SHENG MAI ZHUSHEYE on the movement parameters and viability of human sperm in vitro.
METHODSWe collected sperm samples from 33 normal fertile men, divided each into two, and cultured them in vitro with SHENG MAI ZHUSHEYE + Hams-F10 and Hams-F10 alone, respectively. Then we measured the straight line velocity (VSL), curvilinear velocity (VCL), average path velocity (VAP) and the amplitude of lateral head displacement (ALH) of the sperm by computer-aided semen analysis at 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8 and 12 h. And the sperm viability was detected.
RESULTSVCL was significantly higher at 8 h (P < 0.05) and very significantly higher at 12 h (P < 0.01) in the SHENG MAI ZHUSHEYE + Hams-F10 group than in the Hams-F10 group. VSL, VAP and ALH were significantly increased in the former group at 4, 8 and 12 h as compared with the latter (P < 0.05). The sperm viability was significantly decreased in the Hams-F10 group at 12 h (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSHENG MAI ZHUSHEYE can improve sperm movement parameters and increase sperm viability in vitro.

In order to reveal the cause of disease occurred in the process of Coptis chinensis growth, this paper studied the bacterial species diversity index of different aged rhizospheric and non-rhizospheric soil planting normal or sick C. chinensis by using PCR-DGGE technique. The representative DGGE bands were chosen to be cloned, and sequenced, the phylogeny were constructed. The results showed that the bacterial communities were very different between the normal and diseased soil samples of C. chinensis, and the diversity index (H) of diseased soil samples were higher than that of normal soil samples. Sequencing analysis of representative cloned DGGE bands showed that the unculturable bacteria were the dominant groups, and bacteria belonged to genus Bacillus, Acidovorax, Acinetobacter, uncultured Kluyvera, and uncultured Comamonas were also existing, but the reported plant pathogenic bacteria were not found in the C. chinensis planting soil. The density and brightness of clone band d in diseased soil samples was higher than that in normal soil sample, and sequencing analysis showed that it belonged to genus Acidovorax. Obviously, during the process of C. chinensis growth, the rhizospheric bacteria population changed, and the quantity of bacteria belong Acidovorax increased, which probably resulted in the disease occurred during C. chinensis growth.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2009;11(10):809-812
OBJECTIVETo study the diagnosis and treatment of persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy.
METHODSThe clinical data of 12 infants with persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia were retrospectively reviewed.
RESULTSConvulsion, cyanosis, lethargy, refusing milk sucking, irritability and sweating were common symptoms. The laboratory findings displayed persistent hypoglycemia and hyperinsulinism in all of the 12 infants. The glucagon test showed positive and no urine ketones were detected in all of the 12 infants. Seven infants were treated with oral diazoxide (5-15 mg/kg daily) and 4 infants showed effective to the therapy. One patient was given subtotal pancreatectomy and the blood glucose level was restored to normal after operation. Of the 12 infants, 6 presented psychomotor retardation in a follow-up of 2 months to 67 months, 3 had loss to follow-up and 3 were still in a follow-up.
CONCLUSIONSThe measurement of blood glucose, blood insulin and urinary ketons is helpful in the diagnosis of persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy. Diazoxide therapy is effective in some of patients.
