3T3-LI preadipocytes were induced to differentiate and 3T3-L1 adipocyte or preadipocytes were incubated with oleate or palmitate overnight.RT-PCR was used to measure adiponectin receptor(AdipoR)1 and AdipoR2 mRNA levels. The results showed that the AdipoRl and AdipoR2 expressions were differentiation- dependent.Oleate only suppressed AdipoR mRNA expression in preadipocyte but not in adipocyte. However, high concentration of palmitate reduced AdipoR mRNA expression in both 3T3-LI preadipocyte and adipocyte.

When the glomerular mesangial cells of rats were cultured in vitro at high glucose concentration, the activity of extraeellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK),the expression of transforming growth factor-?_1(TGF-?_1)mRNA and the content of typeⅣcollagen in the supematant were higher than those at normal glucose concentration. These effects were inhibited by fluvastatin. The results showed that the activation of ERK signal transduction pathways appeared to play a role in the onset and progression of diabetic nephropathy. Furthermore, fluvastatin could protect the kidney by inhibiting ERK signal transduction pathway and TGF-?_1 expression.

Objective To screen the arsenic content situation of drinking water in lower reaches of Yellow River and survey the amount of threatened people drinking high arsenic water and the condition of endemic arsenism. Methods Four counties of Yuncheng,Jiaxiang,Dongchangfu and Boxing were selected to colleft the water samples by CroOSS-sectional survey method. The water arsenic content wag determined by semi-quantitative rapid kit.All water samples having arsenic were re-determined by atomic fluorescence spectrometry. And the nurober of threatened people who drinking high arsenic water were investigated. Results In 4765 water wells screened,303 water samples had contained arsenic, arsenic content of 35 samples Was≥0.030 mg/L,12 samples were exceeding the international standard (arsenic content≥0.050 ms/L),they distributed in 3 counties of Dongchangfu,Yuncheng and Jiaxiang. The residents drinking water wells of arsenic content≥0.030 mg/L were surveyed by epidemiological investigation. And in the 28 villages 13 032 residents and 11 Bu8picious patient8 wlere checked out. Conclusion The wells with excesive water arsenic content are existing in the lower reaches of Yellow River and people suspicious of endemic arsenism need to be further identified.

Objective To evaluate the effect of ice-made compound drug liquid on serious oral ulcer caused by chemotherapy. Methods Selecting sixty cases of Ⅲ~Ⅳ degree oral ulcer caused by chemotherapy in our department, and randomly dividing them into a control group and an experimental group. In the control patients were offered an ice-made compound drug liquid to cue the oral ulcer. The effect of each of the therapy was divided into three degrees, i.e., ineffective, effective and excellent, and the effects of the two different ways were compared. Results In the control group, the number of patients that got ineffective, effective and excellent results was 4, 18 and 8, separately; and in experimental group, the number of patients that got ineffective, effective and excellent result was 1, 3 and 26, separately. The difference on the effect between the two groups was significant (u = 4.476,P<0.01 ).Conclusions The therapeutic effect of ice-made compound compound drug liquid is easy to be made and rapidly come into effect. It is worthy of recommending widely.

Objective To investigate health promotion lifestyle of patients with Coronary Heart Disease and explore the correlation between background data and healty lifestyle. Methods Two hundred and eighty-two patients were conveniently investigated from a three levels hospital. Results The patients' health-promoting lifestyle scores were (125.09 ±24.722), 60.6% had unhealthy lifestyle. The patients with different age were significant in terms of healthy lifestyle (t = 0. 993, P = 0. 049). Conclusions Health responsibility and physical activity are the main factors influencing nhealthy lifestyle of patients with Coronary Heart Disease, which should be focused on by nurses. The younger patients are the group who should be given the special health education.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of hypothermia therapy on serum glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase L1 (UCH-L1) levels in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
METHODSSixty-four HIE neonates were enrolled in this study. Thirty-three neonates with mild HIE were given conventional treatment and 31 neonates with moderate or severe HIE received conventional treatment and hypothermia therapy. Serum levels of GFAP and UCH-L1 were measured using ELISA before treatment and 6-12 hours after treatment.
RESULTSSerum levels of IL-6, IL-8, GFAP and UCH-L1 in the moderate/severe HIE group were significantly higher than in the mild HIE group (P<0.05) before treatment. Serum GFAP level was positively correlated with serum IL-6 (r=0.54; P<0.05) and IL-8 levels (r=0.63; P<0.05), while negatively correlated with Apgar score (r=-0.47, P<0.05). After treatment, serum levels of IL-6, IL-8 and UCH-L1 in the moderate/severe HIE group were significantly reduced (P<0.05), while serum GFAP levels increased significantly (P<0.05). The patients with abnormal neurological development showed higher serum GFAP levels than those with favourable prognosis (P<0.05). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves analysis demonstrated that the area under curve (AUC) of GFAP and UCH-L1 were 0.714 and 0.703 respectively. At a cut-off value of 0.07 ng/mL, the sensitivity and specificity of GFAP for the diagnosis of HIE were 77% and 78% respectively.
CONCLUSIONSHypothermia therapy can decrease serum UCH-L1 levels and increase serum GFAP levels in neonates with HIE. Based on their diagnostic value of brain injury, GFAP and UCH-L1 are promising to be novel biomarkers for HIE.
