Objective To discuss the influencing factors of lead poisoning in children and adolescents in certain region of Yunnan and to provide evidence for effective prevention measures.Methods Venous blood samples of 1379 children and adolescents were collected and lead levels in the blood were tested by atomic absorption spectrometer.Children and adolescents with lead level higher than 100 μg/L were diagnosed with lead poisoning.Results The lead level ranged from 1 μg/L to 450 μg/L,with the average level of 82.87 ± 66.97 μg/L,and 341 children and adolescents were diagnosed with lead poisoning,with the poisoning rate of 24.7％.The differences of lead poisoning rates by gender,age,and place of residence were significant (P＜0.05).Gender,age,and distance between place of residence and mining area were the main influencing factors of the lead poisoning rate.Conclusion The blood lead poisoning rate of children and adolescent are high in this region.Boys,children in preschool age and children living closer to the mining area are susceptible to blood lead poisoning.

Objective This paper attempts to explore the application of dizziness handicap inventory (DHI) in evaluation of health -related quality of life (QOL ) changes of patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) before and after the treatment with canalith repositioning procedure (CRP) .Methods The DHI was em-ployed to investigate and evaluate the dizziness handicap of 120 patients with BPPV before and after 3 months of CRP treatment (treatment group) and 60 healthy controls (control group) ,while the DHI scoring results were com-pared .Results As indicated by DHI evaluation ,the scoring of each DHI items of patients with BPPV before treatment was higher than that of control group ,treatment group before treatment :functional score 22 .60 ± 6 .54 ,emotional score 18 .50 ± 8 .28 ,physical score 17 .90 ± 5 .05 ,total composite score 59 .00 ± 14 .32 .For the control group:functional score 1 .35 ± 1 .74 ,emotional score 1 .00 ± 1 .01 ,physical score 1 .37 ± 1 .86 ,total composite score 3 .72 ± 3 .46 ,with the differ-ence statistically significant (P<0 .05) .The DHI scoring of treatment group of patients with BPPV after 3 months of CRP treatment was lower than that before the treatment (treatment group after 3 months CRP treatment :functional score 1 .10 ± 1 .42 ,emotional score 1 .50 ± 1 .70 ,physical score 1 .45 ± 1 .46 ,total composite score 4 .05 ± 3 .66) ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0 .05) .There was no statistically significant difference comparing to the control group (P>0 .05) .Conclusion CRP is effective to treat BPPV .The DHI is available for the evaluation of QOL of BPPV patients .

AlM:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of intravitreal injection of ranibizumab combined with macular grid photocoagulation for diabetic macular edema ( DME) .METHODS:Totally 60 eyes ( 60 patients ) with DME were randomly divided into 2 groups: 30 eyes of simple injection group underwent intravitreal injection of ranibizumab, and 30 eyes of combined treatment group underwent intravitreal injection of ranibizumab and macular grid photocoagulation 1wk later. The best corrected visual acuity ( BCVA ) , central macular thickness ( CMT ) measured by optical coherence tomography ( OCT ) and postoperative complications were observed.
RESULTS:ln simple injection group, the BCVA after operation were separately 0. 390 ± 0. 075 (4wk), 0. 367 ± 0. 088 (8wk) and 0. 319 ± 0. 064 (12wk), the CMT after operation were separately 221. 63 ± 112. 34μm (4wk), 337. 73±99. 56μm (8wk) and 432. 92 ± 100. 46μm (12wk), which were much better than pre-operation. But during follow-up, the BCVA presented down trend and the CMT was on the rise slowly. ln combined treatment group, the BCVA after operation were separately 0. 385 ± 0. 036 (4wk), 0.382±0.079 (8wk) and 0.377±0.097 (12wk),the CMT after operation were separately 249. 77 ± 106. 55μm (4wk), 270. 40 ± 92. 88μm (8wk) and 275. 84 ± 97. 34μm (12wk ), which were satisfactory and steady during follow-up, better than simple injection group (P<0. 05).CONCLUSlON:lntravitreal injection of ranibizumab can effectively improve visual acuity and decrease central foveal thickness for patients with DME, combining with macular grid photocoagulation can ensure therapeutic effects steady and permanent.

3T3-LI preadipocytes were induced to differentiate and 3T3-L1 adipocyte or preadipocytes were incubated with oleate or palmitate overnight.RT-PCR was used to measure adiponectin receptor(AdipoR)1 and AdipoR2 mRNA levels.The results showed that the AdipoRl and AdipoR2 expressions were differentiation- dependent.Oleate only suppressed AdipoR mRNA expression in preadipocyte but not in adipocyte.However,high concentration of palmitate reduced AdipoR mRNA expression in both 3T3-LI preadipocyte and adipocyte.
