Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1982;0(04):-
By using the method of chondrocytes in monolayer culture in vitro we observed the effect of free radicals generated by the xanthine oxidase and xanthine on DNA, matrix proteoglycan (PG), collagen synthesis and ultrastructure of human embryo chondrocytes. Our results showed that the synthesis of DNA, PG and collagen of the chondrocytes were obviously inhibited and the membranes and subcellular organelles of the chondrocytes were damaged strongly. On the bases of these results we suggest that oxygen free radicals from poymorphonuclear leukocytes and phagocytes would be the important factors of cartilage injury in arthritis.

0.05). The morphological changes were observed in the cochlea. Moreover, the changes of cochlear tissues under the optical microscope wasa lot of akaryotes were found in the blood capillary of cartilaginous tissue in the rats of 30 minutes after rammed; a great quantity inflammatory cells were observed in the blood capillary of cartilaginous tissue in the rats of 1 day rammed. The changes of morphology coincided with the results of DPOAE. CONCLUSION Outer hair cells may be injured by cerebral concussion and the changes were showed by DPOAE and ABR.

Inquisition language,as the information carrier on observing and describing disease status, makes it possible for patients to communicate well with doctors to acknowledge disease information. In order to make inquisition language possess specific properties of medical conversation, doctors need to master language skills in procedural inquisition, proper listening and responding to inquisition, distinguishing inquisition, transitional inquisition and secret-involved inquisition.Upholding inquisition language with courtesy, comfort, being explanatory, encouraging, and protecting is the basic requirement of clinical ethics.

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of pneumomediastinum in patients with dermatomyositis and polymyositis for demonstrating its pathogenesis and for predicting its prognosis. Methods The clinical records of 96 patients with PM/DM were reviewed, focusing on for perdicting its pneumomediastinum. Five patients with pneumomediastinum are described in detail. Case reports of pneumomediastinum in PM/DM in English publications are reviewed. Results Five DM cases complicated by pneumomediastinum all had lung infections. Twenty-nine cases (including our five cases) of DM/PM with pneumomediastinum have taken methylprednisolone, four cases alive, and six died. Nine cases have taken CsA,seven cases alive and two died. Conclusion The infections was strongly suspected as being responsible for the pneumomediastinum. Methylprednisolone has poor effect. CsA can be an effective therapeutic agent in PM/DM.

Objective To compare the effects of electroacupuncture at points Shangjuxu(ST37), Zusanli(ST36), Xiajuxu(ST39) and Yanglingquan(GB34) on colonic expressions of interleukin-1b (IL-1b) and nicotinic acetylcholine receptor a7 mRNA (nAchRa7mRNA) in ulcerative colitis rats and investigate if large intestine lower He-Sea point Shangjuxu has relative specificity to fu organ diseases. Method Seventy healthy SD rats were randomized into blank, model, Shangjuxu, Zusanli, Xiajuxu, Yanglingquan and Chengjin groups, 10 rats, half male and half female, each. A rat model of ulcerative colitis was made by induction of 2-4-6 three nitrobenzene sulfonic acid/ethanol solution enema in every group except the blank group. After successful model making and ten days of treatment, rat colonic mucosal ulcers and inflammation were observed macroscopically, colonic IL-1bcontent was measured by ELISA and the expression of nAchRa7mRNA was determined by RT-PCR. Result Compared with the model group, colonic lesions were reduced in varying degrees, colonic IL-1b content was significantly lower and the expression of nAchRa7mRNA was higher in every acupoint group (P<0.05, P<0.01);the colonic ulcer score was lower in the Shangjuxu and Zusanli groups (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the Shangjuxu group, colonic expression of nAchRa7mRNA was lower in the other four acupoint groups (P<0.01); colonic mucosal ulcers and inflammatory lesions were more severe and the colonic ulcer score and the IL-1bcontent were higher in the Xiajuxu, Yanglingquan and Chengjin groups (P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusion The mechanism of electroacupuncture treatment for ulcerative colitis may be that it regulates abnormal immunologic function by modulating IL-1b and nAchRa7mRNA and reduces mucosal lesions. The overall therapeutic effect of Shangjuxu is better than those of Zusanli, Xiajuxu, Yanglingquan and Chengjin, indicating that Shangjuxu has relative specificity to fu organ large intestine.

OBJECTIVE To understand the present situation of hand hygiene execution rate among clinical medical personnel, and discuss a series of scientific, reasonable and practical hand hygiene intervention methods,in order to elevate the hand hygiene execution rate among medical personnel.METHODS Using the self-designed questionoaires in combination with observation on hand hygiene process and investigation of hand hygiene knowledge level among medical personnel in various departments of different levels of hospitals to assess the hand hygiene execution rate.RESULTS The investigation indicated 76.00% medical personnel have had hand hygienic knowledge training, and referred in the stipulation health drafts, the hand hygiene execution rate was 50.00-70.00%.The hand health execution rate before contact with patients was 59.82%,and after contacts with patients was 77.97%;among department the hand hygiene execution rate before contact with patients was highest in the department of pediatrics(82.78%),the lowest was in emergency department(11.11%),after contact with patients the highest was department of infectiong(100.00%),and the larest was in the internal medicine department(39.93%).CONCLUSIONS Medical personnel's hand hygiene consciousness is still weak, with lacked hand hygiene related knowledge,it is necessary to summarize a set of reasonable effective intervention plans to elevate the hand hygiene execution rate, reduce the hospital infection percentage, and lower the patient pain and the economic loss.

Objective To develop an antigen retrieval method for detection of human mammaglobin ( hMAM) immuno-histochemcal staining in old paraffin-embedded specimens .Methods The tissue sections in test group were put into dis-tilled water after deparaffinization and then moved into citric acid buffer ( pH 3.5) for 10-15 min.The other two meth-ods,microwave method and high pressure cooker method ,were compared as control groups at the same time .Finally, immu-nohistochemistry SP method was used to check the antibody in the sections .Results The color appearance in the test group (pH 3.5 citric solution) was better than that of microwave oven and high pressure cooker groups .In the test group, tissue sections were not easily cast off from the slices .Conclusion In this study,we have established a new and simple antigen retrieval method which will contribute to immunohistochemistry technology .
