2.Interference Elimination of Matrix Magnesium Sulfate on the Microbial Limit Test for Urea Cream
China Pharmacist 2017;20(1):187-188
Objective:To eliminate the interference of matrix in urea cream on the microbial limit test. Methods: A certain a-mount of magnesium sulfate was added to the test solution followed by stirring and placing sometime to make the cream layering, and the water layer was used for the microbial limit detection. Results:After magnesium sulfate was added to urea cream, microbial limit test was not affected by the matrix. The average recovery of Escherichia oli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger was 96. 00%, 97. 00%, 100. 00%, 99. 00% and 101. 00%, respectively. The negative and positive results of Psudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus auress were reliable. Conclusion:In the detection of microbial limit for urea cream, mag-nesium sulfate can be used as a good auxiliary agent to make the detection method more convenient and reliable.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Chinese traditional medicine combined with western medicine in the treatment of cirrhosis with ascites and hypoalbuminemia. Methods The trial group was treated with Chinese traditional medicine (modified decoction for Zhongman Fenxiao) combined with western medicine (drugs for protecting liver, diuretis, etc.). The control group was simply treated with Western medicine. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the cure rate of the trial group was 43.75% and the total effective rate was 87.50%, significantly higher than that of the control group with 30.00% and 80.00%, respectively (P 0.05). The liver function in the control group was greatly decreased than that in the trial group (P

Objective: To observe clinical therapeutic effective of 5 mono nitre isosorbide combined with ginkgo leaf in the treatment of angina pectoris. Methods:100 cases of angina pectoris were randomly divided into control group (5 mono nitre isosorbide) and treated group (5 mononitre isosorbide combined with ginkgo leaf). The therapeutic course lasted four monthes. Results: Nitroglycerin consumption in treated group was lower significantly than that in control group. The effective rate was 94.8% in the treated group and 84.2% in the control group after four monthes ( P

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of fecal occult blood test(FOBT).combined with colonoseopy,in screening of colorectal cancer. Methods From September 2006 to May 2007.healthv volunteers without any colorectal cancer(CRC)related symptoms in Songjiang District of Shanghai, aging from 40 to 49 or older than 50 years, were recruited. The subjects were firstly screened by FOBT with immunohistochemieal method in two of three consecutive stool samples, and colonoscopy was performed in those with positive FOBT in any of the stool samples. The number.type and distribution of detected polyps were recorded. Results Of 2692 subjects over 50 years old,FOBT was positive in 184(6.8%).in which 1 rectal cancer and 64 polyps, including 34 adenomatous polyps,15 inflammatory polyps and 15 hyperplastic polyps.Of 582 subjects aging from 40 to 49 years,FOBT was positive in 28(4.8%),in which 2 adenocarcinoma and 6 polyps, including 1 adenomatous polyp. Most polyps, including adenomatous polyp and high-risk polyp, were mainly found on the left side of colon. Conclusion CRC screening with FOBT and colonoscopy in asymptomatic average-risk people could detect colon polyps at an early stage.Colonoscopy in patients with positive FOBT would be suitable in large scale CRC screening in communities and rural areas.

Objective To explore the role and expression of cell apoptosis regulatory genes in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy characterized by hippocampus sclerosis. Methods The experimental specimens were obtained from 15 patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (epilepsy group) and 6 control samples (control group) were obtained from temporal lobe excision of brain trauma decompression, investigated neuron apoptosis by HE stain,TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) method, and determined the expression of bcl-2,bax and caspase-3 by immunohistochemistry. Results The evidence of neuron apoptosis was not found by HE stain in both control group and epilepsy group.Positive cells was not found in control group, but was obviously observed in epilepsy group by TUNEL staining [(4.39 ± 2.04) numbers/100].Unlike that in normal adult brain,bcl-2 immunoreactivity was obviously observed in some neurons in epilepsy group[(6.72 ± 3.36) numbers/100] (P < 0.01).Compared with control group, bax protein in epilepsy group was mild expression (P > 0.05).Two cases in control group were detected the expression of caspase-3 protein, and caspase-3 significantly increased in epilepsy group [(1.07 ± 0.43),(9.54 ± 3.68) numbers/100] (P < 0.01).Conclusions Neuron apoptosis is an important cause of hippocampal sclerosis of human epilepsy.bcl-2 and caspase-3 may play an important role in this process.

Objective To study the association between brachial-ankle index (BAI) and severe subclavian artery stenosis. Methods Seventy severe subclavian artery stenosis patients with a stenosis rate ≥70% admitted to our hospital served as a stenosis group and 70 subclavian artery stenosis-free patients served as a control group in this study.Their BAI,pulse wave upstroke time (UT) and pulse wave form were recorded with a noninvasive automatic peripheral arterial device. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive and negative prediction value of BAI in diagnosis of subclavian artery stenosis were calculated. Results The BAI of stenosis-involved extrmities was significantly lower while the pulse wave UT was significantly longer in stenosis group than in control group (0.6±0.1 vs 0.9±0.1 and 0.9±0.1,261.0±11.8 vs 188.0±12.1 ms and 186.0±12.6 ms,P<0.01).The low obtuse pulse wave form and low plain pulse wave form were detected respectively in stenosis involved extrmities of 58 patients (82.9%) and 11 patients (15.7%) of stenosis group. The sensitivity, specifity, accuracy, positive and negative prediction value of BAI in diagnosis of severe subclavian artery stenosis were 44.3%,92.9%,68.6%,86.1% and 62.5% respectively. Conclusion The specifity, positive prediction value and accuracy of BAI< 0.70 are rather high in diagnosis of severe subclavian artery stenosis.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2018;34(4):260-267
Objective:
The purpose of this study is to systematically review the literature about surgical management of lymphedema, to provide recomendations for the surgical treatment plan of the disease.
Methods:
Cochrane Library and EMBASE databases were searched from January 1st, 2007 to October 1st, 2017 for the literature related to the surgical treatment of lymphedema. Data were extracted from clinical studies matching our inclusion criteria. Meta-analysis was performed with R 3.4.2.
Results:
71 studies were included, out of which 4 studies described were excision, 9 were liposuction, 33 were lymphvenous anastomosis(LVA), 23 were vascularized lymph node transfer(VLNT) and 5 were combined therapy. The excess volume reduction were averaged 96.86%(95%CI: 87.38%—106.33%, I2=0%)for liposuction, 34.64%(95%CI: 19.80%—49.47%, I2=72%)for LVA, 36.85%(95%CI: 12.40%—61.30%, I2=81%) for VLNT.
Conclusions
With further understanding of the pathophysiology of lymphedema and development of radiologic and surgical technique, surgical treatment has the potential to play an important role in lymphedema complex management.
