Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of bleomycinum A5 on different type and site of eye hemangioma in infant. Methods 45 infant cases (23 females and 22 males) of hemangioma of eye were studied from the outpatient deparment of our hospital between 1996 and 2001. The powder of bleomycinum A5 was dissolved in 2 % procaine solution. The mixed liquid was injected uniformly into the mass of hemangioma of eye until it appeared offwhite. Results After the injection, the masses of hemangioma of eye swelled and atrophied subsequently, and the reaction disappeared within 7 days. The appearance of the local tissue turned from red to white. The hardness of it became soft several months after injection. 43 of 45 (95.5 %) patients healed after 2~5 times injection. Conclusions This method is proved effective to different type of hemangioma in infant eye, with minor damage, mild scar formation and good appearance. The side effect includes delay of development in the socket of orbit bone, local tissue necrosis and pigmentation of the skin.

Objective To explore the localization and guidance value of infraorbital/maxillary nerve in endoscopic transmaxillary approach, and to provide anatomical data for clinical operation. Methods The eight adult cadaver heads were dissected by means of the endoscopic transmaxillary approach to expose the infraorbital/maxillary nerve, and relevant data were collected. Results In 8 cases, 16 maxillary nerves arose from the trigeminal ganglion of the trigeminal nerve and emerged from the foramen rotundum, transited to the infraorbital nerve at the infraorbital fissure, then traveled in the infraorbital canal and out of the infraorbital foramen. The infraorbital/maxillary nerve could be divided into four segments according to the foramen rotundum, infraorbital groove and infraorbital foramen: the terminal segment, the infraorbital nerve and its terminal branches to the face, distal to the infraorbital foramen; the orbitomaxillary segment and the orbitomaxillary segment of the infraorbital nerve within the infraorbital canal from the infraorbital foramen along the infraorbital groove (length 11.7 ±2.5 mm ), which was readily identified in the roof of the maxillary sinus in all specimens. The pterygopalatine segment, the pterygopalatine segment within the pterygopalatine fossa, which started at the infraorbital groove to the foramen rotundum (length 13.4±2.1 mm); The intracranial segment, the intracranial segment from the foramen rotundum to the trigeminal ganglion(length 15.2±3.9 mm). Conclusion The infraorbital nerve can serve as a anatomical landmark for endoscopic transmaxillary approach to get access to infratemporal fossa, pterygopalatine fossa, trigeminal ganglion and lateral wall of the cavernous sinus.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2020;22(11):1673-1676
Objective:To observe the changes in bone mineral density and microstructure parameters in sclerostin (SOST) gene knockout (SOST -/-) mice after ovariectomy. Methods:Twelve 4-week-old SOST knockout mice were randomly divided into two groups ( n=6): ovariectomized group (SOV), sham operated group (SSO). Twelve wild-type mice were randomly divided into two groups ( n=6): wild-type ovariectomized group (WTO), wild-type sham operated group (WTS). Twelve weeks later, mice were sacrificed and one lumbar vertebra of each mouse was selected for micro-CT analysis. The bone mineral density, trabecular volume fraction, trabecular number and trabecular thickness were observed and compared in the 4 groups. Results:There was no difference in bone mineral density, trabecular volume fraction, trabecular number and trabecular thickness between SOV and SSO groups. Bone mineral density, trabecular volume fraction, trabecular number and trabecular thickness in SOV and SSO groups were significantly higher than those in WTO and WTS groups ( P<0.001). Bone mineral density, trabecular volume fraction and trabecular number in WTO group were significantly lower than those in WTS group ( P=0.017, 0.039, 0.021, respectively). There was no difference in trabecular thickness between WTO and WTS groups. Conclusions:Sclerostin knockout mice showed high bone mass, and ovariectomy did not lead to bone loss and bone microstructure degeneration, which indicates that slerostin is a potential therapeutic target for postmenopausal osteoporosis.
