Cat scratch coIon( CSC ) is a new term for an endoscopicaIIy characteristic Iesion identified under coIonoscopy,which appears as bright red Iinear mucosaI tear commonIy seen in cecum and ascending coIon. The pathogenesis is considered to be the barotrauma of coIonic mucosa secondary to coIonoscopic insuffIation, and other mechanisms may aIso be impIicated in this process. CSC can be found in coIIagenous coIitis,diversion coIitis or in combination with other non-intestinaI diseases or conditions. With the recognition of CSC by cIinicians,reIated reports have increased. In this articIe,reIated Iiteratures were reviewed for a better understanding of this Iesion.

Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics and management of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in China and improve the recognition of clinical doctor for this disease.Methods Electronic database was searched from 1993 to 2012 for case reports of EoE in Chinese patients.Data were enrolled according to the admission criterion,which included relatively complete medical records and cases confirmed by endoscopic biopsy and/or operation pathology.Results Data of 38 patients with EoE from 6 studies were included and analyzed.There were 24 males and 14 females.The age of onset was (47.2 ± 10.9)years.The process of the disease was (1.5 ± 1.8) years.The main symptoms included dysphagia (24/38,63％) and retrostemal pain (22/38,58％).Total 19 patients (83％,19/23) had allergy history and 20 patients (80％,20/25) had elevated blood eosinophil count.Lesions located at the mid-inferior esophagus mainly.Endoscopic manifestation included hyperaemia,erosion and fragile mucosa,and others such as mucosal nodular,ulcer,plaque and white exudates (18/38,47％).Eosinophil count in esophageal mucosa was (45.8 ± 34.1) numbers/HPF.Main treatment included corticosteroid and acid inhibitory medicine.Conclusions EoE is rare in Chinese people.EoE is more common in middle-aged males with chronic onset.Dysphagia and retrosternal pain is the common symptoms.Endoscopy and biopsy pathology are the methods for definition diagnosis.Corticosteroid and acid inhibitory medicine are the main treatment.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of NaviCam magnetic-controlled capsule endoscopy (NMCE) system in the examination of upper gastrointestinal tract.Methods A total of 39 healthy volunteers were enrolled in the present study.NMCE system was used to examine upper gastrointestinal tract.The safety,gastric preparation,visualization and comfort of the subjects were evaluated.Results Visualization of the Z-line,gastric cardia,fundus,body,angulus,antrum and pylorus was subjectively assessed as more than 75％ mucosa in 19 (48.71％),37 (94.87％),25 (64.10％),30 (76.92％),39 (100.00％),39 (100.00％),and 39 (100.00％),respectively.The observation time was 1.5,3.0,8.0,17.0,3.0,3.0,5.0 min respectively.The capsule was driven into duodenum positively in 25 (64.10％).Seven subjects went into small bowel without control.The one-time visualization efficacy was 97.43％ (38/39).Only one subject felt foreign body sensation.All subjects extracted the capsule within 7 days.Conclusion Our study provides a preliminary assessment of the NMCE on its feasibility and safety.It is comfortable with no chance of cross-infection.NMCE system is a useful tool for upper GI examination and will have a good future.

Objective To observe the effect of naringin on proliferation and differentiation of 3T3-L1 preadipocyte,and to investigate its possible mechanism.Methods The cultured 3T3-L1 cells were pretreated with naringin,and then MTT method was used to detect the proliferation of the cells,oil red O staining method and spectrophotography were applied to analyze the degree of differentiation.The expression of PPAR? 2 and C/EBP? mRNA associated with adipocytes differentiation were detected by reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR).Results Naringin suppressed the proliferation and differentiation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and down-regulated the expression of PPAR? 2 and C/EBP? mRNA.Conclusion Naringin can inhibit the proliferation of 3T3-L1,and can suppress their differentiation through down-regulating the expression of PPAR? 2 and C/EBP? mRNA.

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of Hashimoto's disease. Method The clinical data of 51cases of Hashimoto's disease admitted to our department from 1986 to 2001 were collected and analyzed. Result The preoperative misdiagnosis rate is 78.4%. 37 of 51 cases undergone surgical treatment and the results were satisfied. Follow up data, which were collected from 30 patients, showed that 6 patients(16.2%) developed hypothyroidism . Conclusion The examination of antithyroglobulin (TGA) and antimicrosomal (TMA) and the frozen section examination during operation are helpful to the diagnosis. Appropriate operation is a safe and effective treatment for patients with Hashimoto's disease who have received effectiveless thyroxine treatment.

Objective To investigate the relationship of postoperative complications of thyroid surgery with primary thyroid disease, operation procedures and operative manipulation. Methods The clinical data of 1805 cases of thyroid diseases treated by surgery in our department between 1990～2001 were analyzed retrospectively . Results There were 67 complications occurred in 1805 cases (3.7%). The postoperative complications rate in Hashimoto′s disease and thyroid carcinoma were 6 (16.2%) and 27 (12.2%) respectively ,which were obviously higher than that in other primary thyroid disease( P

Objective:To prepare the egg yolk immunoglobulin Y ( IgY) against human Sucrase and study its stability,in vitro activity. Methods:Hy-line laying hens were immunized with human Sucrase protein,IgY was isolated and purified from egg yolks of im-munized hens using water dilution and salting out method. Indirect ELISA was used to evaluate the titer and stability of IgY. The purity and specificity of IgY were analysed by SDS-PAGE and Western blot respectively. The inhibitory effects of IgY on α-glucosidase was studied by PNPG method. Results:Indirect ELISA results showed IgY could be detected on the tenth day after the first immunization, and the peak titer of IgY was 1:12 800 after the 40th day of immunization. SDS-PAGE showed that the heavy chain and light chain of IgY were 65 kD and 25 kD respectively, and the IgY against human Sucrase could specifically recognize the protein of human Sucrase. The IgY maintained primary titer when it was kept between 29-69℃ for 15 min,and pH 4-7,37℃,4 h. The titer of IgY was maintained 50% after digestion by pepsin and trypsin respectively for 2 hours. IgY had a higher resistence to pepsin than trypsin after longer digestion time. IgY showed an inhibitory effect on α-glucosidase in concentration dependent manner. The half inhibitory concentration (IC50) was 0. 540 mg/ml. Conclusion:The IgY against human Sucrase has been successfully obtained,which established foundations for its study of Type 2 diabetes mellitus rat models in vivo.

Chronic gastritis has varied clinical symptoms and prolonged course,and seriously affects the life quality of patients.Studies have shown that mood disorders might affect the pathogenesis of chronic gastritis.Aims:To investigate the incidence of anxiety and depression and its relationship with digestive symptoms,Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection,degree and activity of inflammation in patients with chronic gastritis.Methods:A total of 235 patients with chronic non-atrophic gastritis were enrolled.Anxiety,depression,gastrointestinal symptoms,gastric mucosal inflammation and activity were evaluated,and infection of Hp was detected.Results:In the 235 patients,144 (61.3%)were accompanied by anxiety and/or depression:108 patients (46.0%)were accompanied by anxiety,129 patients (54.9%) were accompanied by depression,93 patients (39.6%)were accompanied by anxiety and depression.Incidence of abdominal pain,abdominal distention and early satiety,scores of digestive symptoms,positive rate of Hp infection and incidence of severe inflammation in patients accompanied by anxiety and/or depression were significantly higher than those in patients without anxiety and depression (P<0.05 ),but no significant difference in inflammation activity was seen between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusions:Incidence of anxiety and depression in patients with chronic gastritis is high.Anxiety and depression are associated with abdominal pain,abdominal distention and early satiety,and can affect the inflammatory degree of gastric mucosa.Patients with anxiety and depression are susceptible to Hp infection.

Objective To investigate the gene expression of nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-?B) and its (biological) significance in liver cancer tissue.Methods The samples from hepatic cancer tissue and(corresponding) adjacent tissues were collected in thirty-two patients with primary liver cancer.The mRNA and protein levels of NF-?B were determined by reverse-transcription PCR and Western bolt,respectively.(Immunochemistry) was employed to determine the localization of NF-?B protein in liver tissues.Results As shown by RT-PCR and Western blot,both mRNA and protein expressions of NF-?B in liver cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in corresponding adjacent liver tissues(P

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of infliximab (IFX) treatment in inducing and maintaining deep remission (DR) in patients with moderate to severe Crohn's disease (CD).Methods From February 2012 to April 2014,the clinical data of 26 patients with moderate to severe CD received IFX treatment were retrospectively analyzed.Laboratory indexes (erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR),C-reactive protein (CRP),albumin),Crohn's disease activity index (CDAI),Crohn's disease simplified endoscopic score (SES-CD),rate of DR and side effects were observed before treatment,at week 14 and week 30.The t test was performed for normal distribution measurement data comparison between two groups.Wilcoxon signed rank test was performed for non normal distribution measurement data comparison between two groups.Chi square test and Fisher exact probability method were used for rate comparison.Results In 26 patients with CD,at week 14,the CDAI significantly decreased compared with that before treatment (225.0(124.0,265.0) vs 80.0(67.0,124.7),Z=-4.265,P＜0.01); ESR and CRP levels also significantly decreased while body mass index (BMI) and albumin levels increased.The rate of clinical remission,mucosal healing under endoscope and DR was 80.0 ％ (21/26),42.3 ％ (11/ 26) and 34.6％ (9/26),respectively.The rate of clinical remission was higher in patients with the disease course less than one year (92.3％ vs 69.2％,P=0.32).At week 30,the CDAI of patients significantly decreased compared with that before treatment (225.0(124.0,265.0) vs 81.5(67.0,111.0),Z=-4.877,P＜0.01); the ESR and CRP levels significantly decreased; while the BMI and albumin levels increased.The rate of clinical remission,mucosal healing under endoscope and DR was 88.5 ％ (23/26),57.7％(15/26) and 53.8％ (14/26),respectively.Rate of clinical remission was higher in patients with the disease course less than one year (100.0％ vs 76.9％,P=0.22).The differences in the rates of clinical remission,mucosal healing and DR between week 14 and week 30 were not statistically significant.Conclusion IFX could induce and maintain DR in patients with moderate to severe CD.
