AIM: To investigate the protective effects and its mechanism of Jinkui Gastric Drug(JK). METHODS: The model of gastric mucosal lesion in rats induced by hydrochloride acid-aspirin was used.The indexes of gastric mucosal lesion in JK and control groups were observed.The contents of nitric oxide(NO) and the activity of nitric oxide synthase(NOS) in blood serum and gastric tissue in rats,the levels of 6-keto-PGF_(1?),thromboxane B_2(TXB_2) in blood plasma and epidermal growth factor(EGF) in blood serum were examined. RESULTS: The index of gastric mucosal lesion after administration of JK reduced obviously.The contents of NO and the activity of NOS in serum and gastric tissue increased markedly.The levels of 6-keto-PGF_(1?),TXB_2 and EGF increased significantly. CONCLUSION: JK can protect experimental gastric mucosal lesion and its mechanism may be related to increasing the protective factors.

Objective To observe the effect of comprehensive rehabilitation on POEMS syndrome during sequel period. Methods Two cases of POEMS syndrome with multiple peripheral nerve injury as the main manifestation received physical therapy, occupational therapy, acupuncture, surface electromyography biofeedback and other comprehensive rehabilitation treatment. Results After treatment, the muscle strength, trunk balance, standing balance ability, activities of daily living (ADL) improved. The score of Berg Balance Scale increased from 18 to 28 in the first case, the modified Bathel Index increased from 55 to 70 in the second case. Conclusion Comprehensive rehabilitation can improve the function of patients with POEMS syndrome during sequel period, and surface electromyography biofeedback plays an im-portant role.

Objective To investigate the impact of glucose metabolism-related protein 1 (GMRP1) on the regulation of c-Myc gene transcription, to establish GMRP1 gene knockout mouse model, and to study the influence of GMRP1 on glucose metabolism. Methods Chromatin immunoprecipitation-PCR (ChIP-PCR) was utilized to screen out the genes transcriptionally regulated by GMRP1. Luciferase reporter system was applied to assay the regulation of c-Myc promoter activity by GMRP1. GMRP1 knockout mice were constructed and validated by PCR and western blotting. Body weight and random blood glucose were measured in both knockout and wild type mice fed with either chow diet or high-fat diet. The levels of glucose metabolism in mice of 20 or 28 weeks old were evaluated by intraperitoneal glucose tolerance test. Results GMRP1 was capable of binding to the promoter of c-Myc gene and activating the expression of c-Myc gene. There were no significant differences in body weight, random blood glucose or glucose tolerance between GMRP1-deficient and wild type mice fed with either chow diet or high-fat diet (all P > 0.05). Conclusion GMRP1 may activate the transcription of c-Myc gene. GMRP1 deficiency exerted no significant effects on mouse glucose metabolism.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate clinical efficacy and safety of Teng medicine combined with Gongyankang granules in the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease(CPID). METHODS:A total of 141 CPID outpatients were selected from our hospital during Jul. 2015-Jun.2016,other patients were divided into control group(65 cases)and observation group(76 cases)ac-cording to random number table. Control group was given Gongyankang granules 9 g orally,bid;observation group additionally re-ceived Teng medicine hot compress on lower abdomen for 30 min until it was cool,once a day,on the basis of control group. Both groups began the medication since third day after the menstrual period,for consecutive 20 d. TCM syndrome,local sign scores and clinical efficacies were compared between 2 groups before and after treatment,and the occurrence of ADR and recur-rence were observed in 2 groups. RESULTS:Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in TCM syndrome scores or lo-cal sign scores between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment,TCM syndrome scores and local sign scores of 2 groups were de-creased significantly,and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). Clinical total response of observation group were 92.11％,which were significantly higher than 70.77％ of control group, rate recurrence rate of observation group were 2.99％,which were significantly under than 15.79％ of control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). No obvious ADR was found in 2 groups. CONCLUSIONS:Teng medicine hot compress combined with Gongyankang granules show significant efficacy for CPID,can improve TCM syndrome and local sign and reduce recurrence rate with good safety.

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is defined as non-protein coding transcript longer than 200 nucleotides. In the form of RNA, it affects gene expression at the epigenetic, transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels, and is widely involved in the body's pathophysiological processes. This review summarizes the research progress of lncRNA in the field of parasitology in order to find new targets for the prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases.

Objective:To discuss the clinical efficacy and plausible mechanism of Tiao Yang Qu Xie(regulating Yang to eliminate pathogenic factors)needling method plus paroxetine in treating mild-to-moderate depression. Methods:Sixty-six patients with mild-to-moderate depression were divided into an observation group and a control group using the random number table method,each consisting of 33 cases.Another 25 healthy subjects were recruited as a healthy group.The control group took oral paroxetine tablets for treatment,and the observation group received additional acupuncture treatment 3 times weekly.Both groups underwent 4-week treatment.Before treatment,after 2-week and 4-week treatment,and 2 weeks after treatment(follow-up),the patients were assessed using the Hamilton depression scale-17-item(HAMD-17),self-rating depression scale(SDS),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)pattern element identification scale for depression.The two groups each randomly contributed 25 cases to detect the protein content of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)before treatment and after 4-week treatment,and compared with the healthy group. Results:After 2-week treatment,the markedly effective and total effective rates were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05);after 4-week treatment,the observation group significantly surpassed the control group in comparing the markedly effective rate(P<0.05).After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment and at the follow-up,the HAMD-17 total score and sleep disorder factor score were lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05);the anxiety-somatic score was lower in the observation group than in the control group after 2-week treatment(P<0.05).After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment and at the follow-up,the observation group was lower than the control group in comparing the scores of SDS,SAS,and TCM pattern element identification scale for depression(P<0.05).After 4-week treatment,the observation group had an increased serum BDNF protein content,higher than that in the control group(P<0.05)and had no significant difference compared to the healthy group(P>0.05). Conclusion:Compared to the use of oral paroxetine alone,acupuncture plus paroxetine can produce more significant efficacy in treating mild-to-moderate depression and act faster in improving sleep disorder and anxiety-somatic symptoms;increasing the serum BDNF protein content may be a part of the mechanism underlying its antidepressant actions.

Objective: To understand reason for the difference of supplementary immunization activities (SIA) using measles-containing vacline (MV) among different types of universities in China. Methods: Ten universities from one city were selected by using purposive sampling method. Qualitative interviews were conducted on the implementation of MV SIA in universities, and the differences of measles vaccination and the reasons were analyzed. Results: The MV vaccination rates in the 10 universities in 2017 were 54%, 96%,95%,97%,81%,93%,13%,12%,10% and 21% respectively.The rate of four-year universities was higher than that of three-year colleges; and the rate of public universities was higher than that of private schools; the rate of provincial universities was higher than that of central government administered universities; the vaccination rates also vary within central government administered universities.The level, ownership and affiliation of colleges and universities led to the differences in medical qualification, administrators’ risk perception of disease and vaccines, and the relationship between the schools and local CDC, which in turn affected the implementation of vaccination in universities. Conclusion The different attributes of universities are the fundamental reasons that lead to the differences in the rate of MV SIA in Chinese universities. It is suggested that the differences of university attributes should be considered in the process of implementation of the policy of immunization in universities.And the vaccination policy in universities should be strengthened, the risk communication of universities, especially private universities, should be improved, and the working relationship of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education should be enhanced.

Objective To investigate the phenotypic and genetic characteristics of the lysostaphin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus variants induced by recombinant lysostaphin in vitro .Methods Three clinical isolates of S . aureus ,including two resistant to methicillin (MRSA ) and one susceptible to methicillin (MSSA ) were induced by treatment with sub‐MIC of recombinant lysostaphin via one‐step selection in vitro .Susceptibility of the variants to antibiotics were determined and compared with their parental strains .The full length of femABX genes was amplified by polymerase chain reaction and sequenced to identify the potential mutation sites in these genes .The growth‐curve in liquid medium and virulence in a mouse systemic infection model of both parental and variant strains were observed . Results The frequency of lysostaphin resistance in S . aureus was between 10-4 to 10-8 following induction by lysostaphin . Resistance to lysostaphin was associated with a significant decrease in growth rate in vitro and virulence in vivo ,as well as increased susceptibility toβ‐lactams evidenced by the M IC of β‐lactams against the variants as low as 1/4 000 to 1/2 of the M IC against their parental strains . Sequencing of f emA BX genes showed mutation in femA gene in both variants ,which resulted in a premature termination codon .Conclusions Resistance of S . aureus to lysostaphin may develop following induction by recombinant lysostaphin in vitro . The lysostaphin‐resistant S . aureus variants are characteristic of lower growth rate , decreased virulence ,and higher susceptibility to β‐lactams .

Objective: To provide reference for promoting the use of Tengyao in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory diseases (PID). Methods: From January to March 2017, 111 health workers in department of gynaecology were investigated. The quantitative research of KAP questionnaire was used, and the content of questionnaire included personal information, knowledge, attitudes and practices. Results: A total of 111 copies of questionnaire were distributed and 95. 5% of them were effective. Interviewees' overall knowledge was at low level while the attitude was at high level; the main way to obtain knowledge was coming from colleagues (76. 42% ); working lifetime and speciality classification had significant impacts on the level of knowledge (P<0. 05); the majority of interviewees were willing to learn the relevant knowledge through training sessions (54. 72% ) and new media (27. 36% ); 48 inter-viewees would like to continue to use Tengyao for treating PID. The main problem of Tengyao in the treatment of PID was inconvenient operation (63. 64% ). Totally 83. 96% of interviewees considered that the dosage forms of Tengyao should be improved, and 50. 94% of interviewees considered that the clinical efficiency evaluation should be studied. Conclusion: Interviewees'overall knowledge is still at low level, especially in the junior medical staff. Pharmacists should improve the knowledge level of medical staff by meeting train-ing, and study how to improve the dosage forms and evaluate the clinical efficiency of Tengyao.

Objective To analyze the current status of studies related to home enteral nutrition (HEN) in China,and provide scientific basis for the research and management of HEN in China.Methods We searched CNKI and WanFang Data since it built to January 1st,2018.The included studies were screened and categorized by publication information,study type,subjects of the study,topic,interventions and outcomes.Descriptive analysis was conducted after extraction of information.Results A total of 153 studies were included,of which 37 were observational studies,102 were experimental studies,12 were case report,and 2 were exploring articles.Since 2012,the number of studies has been increasing.Most of the subjects were elderly people who were diagnosed with diseases of digestive system,head and neck tumors and diseases of nervous system.These studies were featured as small sample size and short intervention time,follow-ups by telephone and home visit,less than 1/4 providing professional nutrition support team,and outcomes mainly as complication,nutritional biochemical indices,anthropometric indices and prognosis.Conclusion HEN in China is still in its infancy.The number of relative studies is still small and quality of literatures is very low,but it has been increasing.At present,there are some problems in the implementation of HEN in China,such as lack of standardized management model and professional team,short-term intervention,and single follow-up mode.The elderly and patients with digestive disease,head and neck tumors and nervous disease are the key subjects;more professional nutrition support team and scientific management model should be established in the future.
