1.Serological diagnosis methods of schistosomiasis japonica at different preva-lence:a meta-analysis

Objective To comprehensively evaluate the effects of indirect hemagglutination test(IHA),enzyme?linked im?munosorbent assay(ELISA),and dipstick dye method(DDIA)in the diagnosis of schistosomiasis japonica at different preva?lence by using Meta?analysis. Methods Through the literature review according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,a data?base was established,and by using Meta?disc and R software,the Meta?analysis was performed including the threshold test,het?erogeneity test,weighted by the quantitative effect of merger,SROC curve fitting,etc. Results A total of 60 papers were in?cluded in the final analysis. The sensitivities of IHA were 0.84,0.76 and 0.94 in heavy,medium and low endemic areas,and specificities were 0.73,0.64 and 0.73 respectively;the sensitivities of ELISA were 0.88,0.80 and 0.93 in heavy,medium and low endemic areas,and the specificities were 0.59,0.59 and 0.62 respectively;the sensitivities of DDIA were 0.93,0.81 and 0.93 in the heavy,medium and low endemic areas,and specificities were 0.66,0.69 and 0.59 respectively. The weighted sensi?tivities of IHA,ELISA and DDIA were 0.83,0.87 and 0.90 respectively;the weighted specificities were 0.69,0.60 and 0.62 re?spectively. The areas under the curve of SROC were 0.89,0.96 and 0.92 in IHA,ELISA and DDIA respectively. Conclusions In different prevalence,the effectiveness of different methods for serological diagnosis of schistosomiasis is different. The sensi?tivity and specificity of all diagnostic methods of schistosomiasis need to further improve.
2.Gene mutation in ATM/PI3K region of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell lines

Objective To define the correlation between nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cell radiosensitivity and gene mutation in the ATM/PI3K coding region. Methods The gene mutation in the ATM/PI3K region of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell lines which vary in radiosensitivity,was monitored by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR) and fluorescence marked ddNTP cycle sequencing technique.Results No gene mutation was detected in the ATM/PI3K region of either CNE1 or CNE2.Conclusion Disparity in intrinsic radiosensitivity between different NPC cell lines depends on some other factors and mechanism without being related to ATM/PI3K mutations.
4.The phenotypes of a hypercholesterolemia family with low density lipoprotein receptor exon 13 A606T mutation

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical phenotypes of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) caused by exon 13 A606T mutation in low deusity lipoprotein receptor.MethodsClinical data of the suffered family were collected and analyzed,as well as measurement of perivascular intima-medial thickness and follow-mediated-dilation function by ultrasonography.ResultsThere were totally 11 sufferers including 4 males and 9 females,aged 8-90 years,with 2 homozygotes and 9 heterozygotes.Among them, one homozygote showed angina pectoris and hematuria,both homozygotes had skin xanthomata.TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C were(7.39 ± 1.30) mmol/L,(0.93 ± 0.36) mmol/L,( 11.76 ± 1.10) mmol/L and ( 1.22 ±0.17) mmol/L,respectively.The left/right sided intima-medial thickness of the common,internal,external and bulb carotid artery were ( 1.15 ±0.45) mm/( 1.30 ±0.60) mm,(0.82 ±0.30) mm/( 1.00 -0.66)mm,(0.77 ±0.28) mm/(0.78 ±0.30) mm and ( 1.40 ±0.59) mm/( 1.46 ±0.71 ) mm respectively.The brachial artery flow mediated dilation rate was (4.85 ±4.80)%.Echocardiography revealed 2 patients with cardiac valvular disease and 3 with atrium septum aneurysm. ConclusionFH patients show a variety of phenotypes incuding extraordinary hypercholesterolemia,subcutaneous xanthomata and premature coronary heart disease.
5.Research Progress of Medical Ultrasound Assessment of Placental Function.

Our country has been using maturity grading method, which was proposed by Grammum in 1979, to evaluate the placental function. However, this method is subjective to consequence because it totally depends on the observation and experiences of clinicians. With the development of ultrasound technology, therefore, we reviewed more novel applications in other aspects of placenta (such as blood flow, vascularization, etc). Over the past years, scholars in the world have done a lot of research around these topics. In this review we introduce placental maturity grading with B-mode ultrasound, placental vascularization qualitative and quantitative analysis with three-dimensional Doppler ultrasound and placental volume measurement, respectively.

6.Approach to the patient with pituitary carcinoma

One patient confirmed as pituitary carcinoma by histopathology was retrospectively analyzed according to the great changes of tumor invasive growth in imaging examine and clinical characters. Clinically,pituitary carcinoma quickly grows,and the growth character of tumor is helpful in the diagnosis. Moreover,the treatment for pituitary carcinoma is different from pituitary adenoma.The rapid progress of pituitary adenoma indicates the possibility of primary carcinoma.More experience should be accumulated for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
8.Research progress of mesenchymal stem cells in endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common chronic gynecological disease,and its pathogenesis has not been fully elucidated.Mesenchymal stem cells are a kind of pluripotent stem cells with multi-directional differentiation potential derived from mesoderm,which can differentiate into a variety of tissues and organs.Endometrial mesenchymal stem cells,menstrual blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells,adipose mesenchymal stem cells,bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells can participate in the pathogenesis of endometriosis from cell proliferation and differentiation,ectopic migration,angiogenesis,inflammatory response and fibrosis formation,and play a certain role in progression of the disease.Mesenchymal stem cells provide new ideas for elucidating the pathogenesis of endometriosis,and may also become a potential method for the treatment of endometriosis.
9.Differentially expressed genes of ulcerative colitis and associated microRNAs based on bioinformatics analysis

Objective To analyze differentially expressed genes and potential microRNA(miR-NAs)with diagnostic and therapeutic potential in ulcerative colitis(UC)based on bioinformatics.Methods The chip raw data in GEO database was screened by weighted gene coexpression network analysis.UC related differentially expressed genes were obtained for enrichment analysis.Potential miRNAs associated with differentially expressed genes were predicted based on key genes,and gene-miRNA regulatory networks were constructed.Results A total of 277 differentially expressed genes were screened,of which 200 genes were up-regulated and 77 genes were down-regulated.Gene set en-richment analysis(GSEA)showed that the main enrichment pathways were neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction,leishmania infection,prion disease and electrocardiogram receptor interaction.The results of gene ontology(GO)analysis showed that it was mainly involved in chemokine activity,heparin binding as well as chemokine receptor binding and other items.The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)analysis showed that the main enrichment pathways were cytokine receptor interaction pathway,phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K-AKT)signaling pathway,chemokine signaling pathway as well as nuclear transcription factor kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathway and other pathway.A total of 10 hub genes were screened:C-X-C chemokine ligand 8(CXCL8),Toll-like receptor 2(TLR2),intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1),selectin L(SELL),C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4(CXCR4),cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated antigen 4(CTLA4),clus-ter of differentiation 69(CD69),and Biglycan(BGN),C-X-C chemokine ligand 13(CXCL13),tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1(TIMP1).A total of 12 potentially key miRNAs were identi-fied,they were respectively hsa-mir-335-5p,hsa-mir-146a-5p,hsa-mir-92a-3p,hsa-mir-155-5p,hsa-mir-26b-5p,hsa-mir-4426,hsa-mir-4462b,hsa-mir-4647,hsa-mir-32-5p,hsa-mir-92b-3p,hsa-mir-98-5p and hsa-mir-93-5p,respectively.Conclusion In this study,a total of 277 differen-tially expressed genes are screened for possible involvement in the development of UC,and 10 hub genes and 12 miRNAs are identified as possible biomarkers for UC.
10.Exploration of compatibility rules of traditional Chinese medicine and prediction of combination medication for acute rhinopharyngitis based on weighted projection of bipartite networks

Objective To propose a new method for mining compatibility rules of traditional Chi-nese medicine(TCM)formulation from the perspective of weighted projection of bipartite networks,and to predict the combination of new drugs to provide a basis for guiding the clinical treatment of acute nasopharyngitis.Methods Using the acute nasopharyngitis prescription data in the Traditional Chi-nese Medicine Integrated Database(TCMID)as the data source,a bipartite network is constructed by extracting the prescription and drug nodes.A drug network projection map was then obtained using weighted projection.Social network analysis was performed combined with weighted projection of bipar-tite networks,and compatibility rules of"Jun-Chen-Zuo-Shi"in TCM via hierachical cluster analysis based on Pearson correlation.Besides,link prediction was used for core drug prediction.Results The combi-nation of bipartite network weighted projection and Pearson correlation for systematic clustering analysis played a significant role in the study of the compatibility rules of TCM prescriptions.In link predic-tion,11 link prediction indicators were selected,and weighted and unweighted algorithms were distin-guished.The final calculation showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of the weighted indicators were generally higher than that of the unweighted network.Among the weighted indicators,the indica-tor with the highest AUC index was the network resource allocation Index.A total of 7 groups of drug combinations were predicted,including Baitouweng-Maokezi,Anxixiang-Shijiaocao,Baihuacha-Fuzi,etc.Conclusion The bipartite network weighted projection method is practical and effective in revealing the compatibility rules of TCM and predicting drug combination.
