BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that nerve grafts with Schwann cels can repair peripheral nerve defect and Schwann cels have an important role in nerve regeneration. OBJECTIVE: To observe the rehabilitation status of neutral function after sciatic nerve injury in rats bridged by nerve grafts with Schwann cels. METHODS: A rat model of sciatic nerve injury was established, and schwann cels were primarily cultured. Then, the rat model was repaired with polylactic-co-glycolic acid copolymer-extracelular matrix gel-Schwann cels complex. According to different concentrations of Schwann cels, there were five cel groups from 105/L to 109 RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The nerve conduction velocities in the cel groups were al higher than that in the control group at 3, 6, 12 weeks after modeling (P < 0.01), and it was highest in the 10 and a control group. The nerve conduction velocity was detected respectively at 3, 6, 12 weeks after modeling; the e tibialis anterior muscle gravity was detected and histological observation was done at 12 weeks. 8/L (P < 0.05). At 12 weeks, hematoxylin-eosin staining of the tibialis anterior muscle showed that the number of normal muscle fibers was higher in the cel groups than the control group (P < 0.05). In the 108/L and 109 and had similar length, thickness and density. These findings indicate that polylactic-co-glycolic acid complex with 10/L groups, the morphology of tibialis anterior muscle recovered wel; the muscle fibers were in strip-like and wavy shapes, grew in the same direction, 8/L Schwann cels is better to promote sciatic nerve regeneration.

Objective:To study the effect of erythromycin(EM) on cigarette smoke-induced histone deacetylase-3(HDAC3) protein expression in human macrophages in vitro .Methods:The Aqueous cigarette smoke extract ( CSE) was always prepared fresh on the day of the experiment .The U937 monocytic cells were differentiated into macrophages by using phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) according to standard procedures .The U937 differentiated cells were treated with either CSE (1%) or EM (1 μg/ml) pre-treatment, and HDAC inhibitor trichostatin A (TSA;100 ng/ml) for 24 h.HDAC activity was measured with a colorimetric assay kit and Western blot was used for HDAC3 and factor nuclear-kappaB (NF-κB) protein assays. The levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) release in the supernatant were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results:CSE(1%) significantly de-creased HDAC activity and HDAC 3 protein levels at 24 h.Preincubation with EM (1μg/ml ) for 24 h significantly inhibit CSE (1%) induced decrease of HDAC3 protein expression.Furthermore, Preincubation with EM(1 μg/ml) for 24 h significantly inhibit NF-κB activity and TNF-αrelease in human macrophages .Conclusion:EM is able to restore HDAC3 levels decreased by cigarette smoke and inhibit NF-κB activity resulting in decreasing CSE-mediated TNF-αrelease, which has shown an important explanation that EM possess the anti-inflammatory effect induced by cigarette smoke .

Objective: To understand the effects of remuneration incentive and their influences on job satis-faction in county public hospital. Methods: Stratified random sampling was adopted. Six county public hospitals in county level in Heilongjiang province were selected as the sample. Exploratory factor analysis was used to ana-lyze the remuneration incentives, descriptive statistical analysis and logistic regression analysis were used to ana-lyze the effects and their influences on work satisfaction. Results: remuneration incentives are divided into four dimensions that comprised a total of 16 items, which including direct material rewards, indirect material re-wards, occupational rewards and social rewards. The surgeon’s job satisfaction is higher than the physician, and is lower than the obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics. Technician and nurses’ satisfaction is lower than the general practitioner. The medical staff who worked less than5 years has the lowest satisfaction. Authorized staff’s satisfaction is lower than off-staff. Direct material rewards and occupational rewards are related to job satisfac-tion. Conclusions:Material rewards were in low level, and non-economic incentive was insufficient. The salary incentive for highly educated talents should be strengthened.

OBJECTIVETo describe the distribution of plasma folate concentrations and prevalence of folate deficiency in adults aged 35 to 64 years in some areas and different seasons in China.
METHODSStudy subjects were sampled from the representative rural and urban areas in the south and north of China aged 35 to 64 years totaling 2 545, and their plasma folate concentrations were determined and analyzed.
RESULTSPlasma concentrations of folate in the southern population were significantly higher (16.9 nmol/L) than those in the north (8.3 nmol/L), and the prevalence of folate deficiency in the south (5.8%) was significantly lower than that in the north (37.1%). Plasma folate concentration varied with season either in the south or north. Plasma concentrations of folate were lower during the summer and the fall (15.0 nmol/L) than those during the winter and the spring (18.8 nmol/L) in the south, but without significant changes in the prevalence of folate deficiency in different seasons. However, the plasma folate concentrations were significantly higher during the summer and the fall (9.7 nmol/L) than those during the winter and the spring (7.1 nmol/L) in the north. And the prevalence of folate deficiency in the north was significantly higher in winter and spring (48.0%) than that in summer and fall (26.2%).
CONCLUSIONSThere existed significant difference in plasma folate concentrations in adults between varied geographic areas in China, which differed from their seasonal changes.

Objective To determine the diagnostic value of two and three dimensional ultrasound in detecting fetal hand malformations. Methods In the retrospectively analysis, the severe fetal hand malformations detected by prenatal ultrasound during the recent three years in our hospital were classified according to the prenatal sonographic characteristics, family history, karyotype analysis and autopsy results, etc. Results Fourteen fetuses with hand-anomaly were detected during the 16-28th week of gestation, both hands were affected in 10 cases, with the same morphology bilaterally in 8 cases.Thirteen cases had other abnormal sonographic findings. They were detected and classified into three categories,Wrist deformity (9 cases),three fetuses were associated with total absence of radius and radial clubhand, and six fetuses had palmar deviated hands, with various etiologies including familial hereditary arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, distal type 1 (AMCD1),amniotic band syndrome, body stalk anomaly,trisomy18 and micromelia.Hand (figer) hypoplasia or aphasia (3 cases),one hand was absent in one fetus without associated anomaly, absence of five fingers with ipsilateral multicystic dysplastic kidney in the second fetus, and the third fetus had split hand/foot malformation (SHFM).Overlapping fingers (4 cases),three of them were trisomy18,and two fetuses had both wrist deformity and overlapping fingers. Conclusions Prenatal two and three dimensional ultrasound play an important role in detecting and diagnosing severe type of fetal hand malformations.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of prenatal ultrasonography in the fetal hemivertebra. Methods The ultrasonographic findings of three fetuses with hemivertebra diagnosed in our hospital were reviewed and compared with those of postnatal ultrasonography, other image modalities, and autopsy. Results In all fetuses,a distortion of the spine was observed where only one half of the vertebra could be identified. The parents opted for termination of the pregnancy in one case and the deformity was confirmed by autopsy. The other two fetuses were delivered and in one fetus the diagnosis was confirmed by radiological assessment. Conclusions Hemivertebra can be diagnosed accurately by second-trimester ultrasonography. The prognosis is mostly favorable when no other anomalies are associated. Meticulous examination may disclose the lesion and help decide the fate of pregnancy.
