Objective To investigate the effect of pre - washing without heparin on adequacy of hemodialysis. Methods Using self-control method, fifty hemodialysis patients received pre-washing with heparin in normal saline and normal saline. Then we tested Kt/v by online clearance monitoring and observed clotting condition of dialyzer and hemodialysis tubes. Results There were no difference of Kt/v between two methods. After hemodialysis, no clotting phenomenon was found in dialyzer. There was a little pot of coagulation in artery and vein pot, but no significant difference between two methods. Conclusions Pre-washing with normal saline alone can not only ensure the adequacy of hemodialysis, but also reduce the risk of cross infection and reduce the amount of heparin, simplify operational procedures, so it should be promoted.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the gastroprotective activity of ascaridole.MethodsThe gastroprotective effect of ascaridole was evaluated on ulcer healing in rats with acetic acid-induced chronic gastric ulcer, pylorus ligation- and Aspirininduced gastric ulcer.Ascaridole was ig administered with the dosages of 10 and 20 mg/kg once daily for 7 d.Results Ascaridole showed the significant anti-ulcer effects. In acetic acid-induced gastric ulcer rats, the ulcer areas after 10 and 20 mg/kg of ascaridole treatment were (65.1 ± 20.0) and (50.6 ± 11.0) mm2,respectively,which were significant lower (P < 0.01) than that of the control group [(116.7 ± 35.8) mm2].For pylorus ligation model, ascaridole showed a gastric ulcer healing effect in a dose-dependent manner.Ascaridole at the dose of 20 mg/kg showed 50% ulcer protection and had a significant (P < 0.05) gastroprotective activity since it decreased the total acidity and pepsin activity.Compared to the control group, the two dosages of ascaridole showed the significant reduction (P < 0.05) in the ulcer index on Aspirin-induced ulcer.ConclusionThis study provides evidence that ascaridole shows potential efficacy on the healing of gastric ulcers induced by acetic acid,Aspirin, and pylorus ligation.

Objective To investigate the status and needs of training medical staff in county-level medical institutions in Guangxi to provide preferences for developing training programs. Methods Self-designed questionnaires were used to investigate a random sample of 477 medical staffs in 9 county-level medical institutions including People's Hospi-tals, Chinese Medical Hospitals, Maternity and Child Care Hospitals in Wuming, Liujiang, Rongxian counties. Re-sults 13% of the medical staffs had never participated in training; 28.1% of them were trained once a month; 50.7% of them were trained for less than a week. 39.4% of them expected to receive training once a year , 21.6% expected a week to half a month and 21.8% expected three months to six months. 60.4% of them expected to receive new knowl-edge and technique training. 73.6%of them expected to go to provincial hospitals for training and 57% of them expect-ed to receive extension study. Conclusion There are differences between medical staff training needs and status. Exist-ing questions are incomplete training coverage, too dense training frequency ,too short training period, medical staffs urgently need the training of continuing professional development, new technology and professional knowledge, and training effect is not obvious. We can establish medical staff in-service training incentives ,increase medical staffing and reform training methods to encourage and attract more medical staff to attend training.

This paper summarized the research progress of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) constitutional types and related factors in the elderly. It sumed up the distribution characteristics of the elderly constitutional types and the correlation between constitution and the disease. This paper helped to improve the health of the elderly, to prevent and control of chronic disease sooner, and to show the TCM advantages of "abidance by triple pathogens".

Objective To analyze the morphological alterations of corpus callosum in children with spastic cerebral palsy(SCP)using three-dimensional magnetization prepared rapid acquisition gradient echo(3D-MPRAGE)technology and to investigate the correlation between morphological indexes and gross motor function. Methods Sagittal T1WI 3D-MPRAGE data was collected from 136 children with SCP(SCP group)and 132 age-and gender-matched healthy controls(HC)(HC group),and the gross motor function measure-88(GMFM-88)was applied to assess the gross motor function.Independent sample t-test was used to compare the corpus callosum surface area, volume, maximum anterior-posterior diameter, median sagittal area(total area and area of Ⅰ-Ⅴ zone)between the two groups.Partial correlation analysis was performed to calculate the correlation between morphological indexes of the corpus callosum and GMFM-88 with age as a covariate. Results Children under 3 years old,the corpus callosum surface area of the SCP group(3 914.51 mm2±1 207.97 mm2)was lower than that of the HC group(5 725.51 mm2±1 412.66 mm2).The volume of the corpus callosum(6 108.46 mm3±2 803.97 mm3)in the SCP group was lower than that of the HC group(11 297.96 mm3±4 109.02 mm3).Also,the maximum anterior-posterior diameter of the corpus callosum in the SCP group(53.40 mm±6.31 mm)was lower than that of the HC group(57.74 mm±6.04 mm)(all P<0.05).Children over 3 years old,the corpus callosum surface area of the SCP group(4 970.06 mm2±1 191.31 mm2)was lower than that of the HC group(6 372.55 mm2±1 445.59 mm2).The volume of the corpus callosum(8 330.20 mm3±2 888.20 mm3)in the SCP group was lower than that of the HC group(13 599.82 mm3±3 429.81 mm3)(all P<0.05).Partial correlation analysis showed significant correlation between corpus callosum volume, median sagittal area and gross motor score(P<0.01)with age as a covari-ate.Conclusion The 3D-MPRAGE technology can be useful for the comprehensive assessment of morphological alterations of the corpus callosum in SCP.The corpus callosum volume, and median sagittal area may become neuroimaging references for the assess-ment of motor development in cerebral palsy(CP).
